If only every rumored couple were sexy, shrouded in a little mystery, and didn't involve lame music. Like Lauren Conrad and Sean Zastoupil.

But alas. We're forced to report to you that John Mayer and Cameron Diaz (yawwwn) were spotted getting their PDA on over the weekend.

The pair, who were first spotted out together in the city last week, were "all over each other" and "super flirty" at the Bowery Hotel Friday, an onlooker said.

Mayer and Diaz, who sat together on a couch in the back of the patio, "were laughing and talking a lot" as the waitress brought several rounds of drinks.

Last Tuesday, the pair were spotted having dessert at the French-Vietnamese restaurant Indochine.

"It looked like a casual date," said a source. "[Cameron Diaz] was giggly. She was laughing and seemed happy."

Asked if the newly-close pair are dating, a source close to Mayer says, "Yes, it's definitely true."

Diaz, who is filming What Happens in Vegas... in New York, split from longtime boyfriend Justin Timberlake back in January.

For his part, John Mayer ended his on-again, off-again relationship with Jessica Simpson's boobs in June.

At least he has his music. Especially that "Wonderland" song. That's gotta cheer him up.

Cameron Diaz is no longer with Justin Timberlake, but she's dipped back into the popular, lame musician well (so to speak) to find herself a new guy: John Mayer!

Just kidding about that. Justin Timberlake isn't lame at all!

Diaz, the 34-year-old star of Shrek, There's Something About Mary and a lot of other films, and John Mayer, a singer-songwriter best known for recently dating Jessica Simpson's giant boobs, were spotted out in New York last night.

"They went out to several places... It was the two of them, getting to know each other, out on the town," says a source reportedly close to the couple.

According to a source, Cameron Diaz, who is in New York filming the new comedy What Happens in Vegas, and John Mayer have known each other for quite awhile.

"This was technically not their first time hanging out... they've hung out together with friends before. But this was the first time together like this. It's new and developing... but they really like each other and it went well," the Us Weekly source explained.

A rep for John Mayer would not confirm the couple, saying "We do not comment on our client's personal lives." A rep for Cameron Diaz also had no comment.

Neither star's rep would say if the new couple would wait to set a wedding date, like Nick Cannon and Selita Ebanks, or if they were getting really serious already.

Hey, some couples move faster than others. Jimmy Fallon and Nancy Juvonen met in 2005, while Spencer Pratt fake proposed to Heidi Montag after less than a year!

But we're drifting off topic here. One thing's for sure: there's no great celebrity couple name to be spawned by this pair. Miaz? Dayer? Johneron? Come on guys.

Interestingly, Mayer was linked to another star, Mandy Moore, as recently as this morning. Moore denies they are dating, though, chalking it up to friendship.

Guess he's no DJ AM. And that's saying something.

Let's hope David de Rothschild doesn't have a crazy ex-wife.

The British environmentalist is rumored to be the new squeeze for Cameron Diaz, just a few days after celebrity gossip sources were claiming she helped break up the marriage of her last piece of man candy.

Then again, Diaz and Mindfreak's Criss Angel never confirmed they were an item.

Either way, Us Weekly has learned that the Shrek star is now dating David de Rothschild, a guy who loves going green and happens to be the heir to a banking fortune. Not a shabby catch.

In 2003, he was second on Tatler magazine's list of the hottest bachelors in the United Kingdom, beating out both Prince Harry and Hugh Grant (bested only by Prince William).

Sorry, Lucy Pinder and Sam Cooke. An American hottie has landed one of your country's main hunks, David de Rothschild.

Diaz and de Rothschild were first spotted in the VIP section at Live Earth in New Jersey on July 7. Then, they flirted and touched throughout dinner at NYC's Stanton Social just two nights later. Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens may soon have competition for cutest couple in Hollywood.

The timing is ideal for Cameron. She had been stuck between an ugly war of words between Angel and his soon-to-be ex, JoAnn Sarantakos. The bitter wife accused the illusionist of cheating on her, while various celebrity news outlets told her to "eat it."

It hasn't been pretty.

Kristy Swanson is not a homewrecker. The random actress wanted to get that word our to all celebrity gossip followers as soon as she could.

Might Cameron Diaz need to send out a similar alert now?

After all, the wife of Criss Angel is making certain, mean accusations.

Joanne Sarantakos filed for divorce yesterday in a Long Island court. She claims that her 15-year marriage, which TMZ said Angel kept a secret to boost his image to women, was destroyed by his freaky fame and his recent relationship with Diaz.

The New York Post reports that Sarantakos' lawyer will subpoena Diaz for the divorce trial. It could get as ugly as the Mary Jo Eustace case against Tori Spelling and Den McDermott.

"We're naming Cameron Diaz as his lover," her lawyer Dominic Barbara reportedly told the Nassau County court, where Angel and Sarantakos faced off on Friday. "We will subpoena her as soon as she comes back to New York." Barbara also told the court that Angel kept his wife a "secret" to further his career.

With news coming out that Kevin Federline might be challenging his divorce with Britney Spears, The Hollywood Gossip can't help but wonder: Can't anyone break up peacefully these days?

When Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz reunited on the "green" carpet for the London premiere of Shrek the Third, there wasn't even a hint of awkwardness.

The former couple greeted each other with a quick hug before going their separate ways to work the crowd that had gathered to celebrate the film's U.K. debut.

What's it like working with her ex?

"He's been great and we've been working hard together to promote this film," Cameron Diaz, 34, told People.

Of course, this wasn't the first time Cameron and Justin Timberlake had appeared together at a Shrek event. They shared a friendly kiss at the film's L.A. premiere last month.

Then, last week, they promoted the film together in Berlin.

The day before the London premiere, Diaz, who's reportedly dating Criss Angel now, visited the famous Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.

"[The kids] are all so brave," she told People. "They really make you thankful for your own health. They were all wonderful and inspiring."

It's nice to see these two get along amicably after a tough breakup. Then again, it's nothing new for Justin, who has remained supportive of another famous ex, Britney Spears, even as he reportedly romances Jessica Biel.

As far as other women in his life, on a professional level, Timberlake announced the signing of his first music protege, Esmee Denters, to his new record label last week.

On the green carpet, the Chanel-clad Diaz, who plays Princess Fiona in the film, and Timberlake (young prince Artie) were joined by castmates Rupert Everett (Prince Charming) and Antonio Banderas (Puss-in-Boots).

Antonio Banderas said that making an orange cat into a sex symbol wasn't too difficult.

"It was remarkably easy actually... once you understand the method, that is."

Good to know, Antonio. We'll keep that in mind.

Competing with other hot Hollywood couples such as Kate Bosworth and James Rousseau is tough.

But Criss Angel has an amazing ace up his magical sleeve in the race for celebrity gossip attention.

"Cam is an amazing person," the Mindfreak star tells People magazine in regard to the one and only Cameron Diaz. "I'm so honored to be able to call her my friend."

But does he mean friend or does he mean down and dirty lover? "I don't know how to classify them," one close source said. "But she is using the word 'we' to mean her and Criss."

Who knows what that means, though. Anne Heche once used the word "we" to describe herself and Coley Laffoon - and we all saw how that turned out.

Criss and Cameron have been spotted in Las Vegas two weeks in a row: Two days after they met on May 12, they caught a Cirque du Soleil show, where one witness told People, "they were snuggling with each other and he was making her laugh."

And on May 18, Diaz jetted to Vegas for a romantic rendezvous with Angel that included snuggling through dinner at Social House, then slow dancing at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's Body English.

The two will need to continue with such cozy behavior if they wish to remain in the headlines ahead of other cute new couples, such as Natalie Portman and Andy Samberg.

Criss Angel is an illusionist.

But there doesn't appear to be anything made up about his new relationship with Cameron Diaz.

For the second week in a row, Diaz was in Las Vegas hanging out with the magician. After arriving in town Friday afternoon, the pair dined at celeb hot spot Social House at Treasure Island.

The couple arrived for dinner at 6:30 p.m. and took a spot in the restaurant's lounge chatting over drinks before retreating to a private dining room overlooking The Strip, as Angel tried to ignore the fact that he must live up to uber-stud Justin Timberlake in the minds of many.

After midnight, the pair popped up at PURE Nightclub at Caesars Palace, where they cuddled in the VIP area drinking wine and whispering into each other's ear, a source told People magazine.

Could the duo soon end up like newly married couple Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil?

It may be too soon to tell.

But Diaz and Angel then made their way upstairs to the outdoor patio at PURE. They leaned over the rail, looking up and down the Strip before leaving the club through a side door around 1:15 a.m. But the night didn't end there, as celebrity gossip spies were all over this couple: The two eventually turned up at Hard Rock Hotel's Body English.

Once there, we can only assume they discussed the absurdity that is Britney Spears' hair.

What sort of trickery does it take to date a gorgeous actress? Ask Criss Angel.

The magician might tell you that spelling your first name in a stupid fashion is the illusion you need to make someone like Cameron Diaz think you're mysterious enough to go out with. After all, the pair hit the town in Las Vegas last night.

The Shrek princess and the weird magician - who stars in the reality TV show, Mindfreak - began their evening with dinner at the Bellagio's Prime steakhouse, then rode to the Mirage in Angel's Rolls Royce for the 10:30 p.m. performance of Cirque du Soleil's Beatles tribute LOVE.

Walking arm-in-arm into the theater Diaz and Angel looked like an actual couple. A witness said Justin Timberlake might have reason to be jealous because "they were snuggling with each other and he was making her laugh. They seemed really happy."

Cameron and Criss, who has been linked to Minnie Driver, previously met up on Saturday night at the VH1 Rock Honors and later partied at the Jet Nightclub with Diaz's BFF Drew Barrymore.

Meanwhile, the actress talked about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Timberlake on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Tuesday.

"I love how people just expect when people break up to hate each other," she said, "but you know ... we're still in each other's lives. When you care about somebody, you just want them to be happy and that's what we both are now."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves, Cam. But you may wanna close your eyes to avoind seeing just how happy Scarlet Johansson and Jessica Biel have made Timberlake recently.

Let's not talk about the new hair on Cameron Diaz for a bit.

Instead, let's focus on the apparently awful couple of years this beauty has had to endure. It doesn't sound like her troubles began with the recent Justin Timberlake break-up, either. The following excerpts are courtesy of movies.com ...

On being in hell:
"The last couple of years were hell. Like, I can't even tell you, it was so hard. I didn't know how to handle it. But I think I'm in a much better place now, because I stepped away for a second and took a breath. Hollywood is a funny place. It offers so much, but it can also take a lot away from you."

On her trips to Hawaii:
"I was just there doing a lot of surfing [with Kelly Slater]. I love it. It's definitely a spiritual experience, the closest you can get to Mother Nature, which is God to me. You get to ride all this energy that's traveled across the ocean for thousands of miles, and you get to usher this distant traveler to its destination on the shore."

On the secret to being a good ogre wife:
"I felt strongly that I didn't want Fiona to come off as naggy. I hate naggy."

On bringing her eco-conscious views to Shrek:
"For the next Shrek, I'd like to create the ideal kingdom of Far Far Away, where there would be no carbon emissions … work an eco-friendly message into the story. Maybe the swamp could be in danger from an environmental disaster or something."

Cameron Diaz went ahead and fixed her nose a couple months ago.

But it looks as through the beautiful actress is still trying to decide on a hairstyle.

She's already gone from blonde to brunette - but Diaz showed up at the premiere for Shrek the Third over the weekend (and kissed ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake on the cheek!!!) with a 'do somewhere in between those two colors.

How do you feel about it?

There's little doubt that Cameron looks better than this Rumer Willis impression of Clark Kent, but that would be the case even if Diaz went all Britney Spears on us and shaved her head.

And while none of these styles even matter as long as we can see pictures of a half nude Cameron Diaz, we'd still like readers' opinions on the new look.
