A month after his late wife's body was flown to the United States, Bruce Beresford-Redman was permitted to leave Mexico and return to Los Angeles.

Speaking to TMZ, attorney Richard Hirsch says that his client has not been accused of a crime. Therefore, he possesses this legal right and "that is probably what is going to happen next."

While Bruce was detained and questioned in Mexico, his parents were looking after his two kids. They filed for custody a few weeks ago.

Beresford-Redman is still considered a "person of interest" in his wife's death, according to Mexican authorities.

We have an update on the tragic situation surrounding Bruce Beresford-Redman and his late wife.

Bruce is the former Survivor producer suspected of murdering wife Monica in Cancun earlier this month. While authorities are preventing him from leaving Mexico as they ponder charges and collect evidence, Monica's family has finally brought her body to Los Angeles.

Sisters Jeanne and Carla Burgos flew with the corpse, which was taken to the Gates, Kingsley & Gates Smith Salsbury funeral home in Culver City.

"It's very important to have my sister back where she belongs and have the family say goodbye and have a place to go so they can send their love," Jeanne said.

The body will now undergo further testing, as funeral service arrangements are being planned. It's a sad situation all around.

As authorities in Mexico prepare to file charges against Bruce Beresford-Redman for the recent murder of his wife, the former TV producer will likely lose his children soon.

Bruce's parents, David and Juanita Beresford-Redman have filed the necessary paperwork in L.A. County Superior Court that would make them permanent guardians of Alec and Camilla, the kids Bruce had with his late wife, Monica.

The couple already has temporary custody.

In the documents, David and Juanita say they are retired and in good heath, enjoy a solid relationship with Alec and Camilia and are "able to devote ourselves to the care and nurture of our grandchildren."

"We are both well-educated, each with a masters degree... we will be able to address questions that arise from our grandchildren," they wrote.

Bruce reportedly wants it this way, as his children will at least end up in the care of close relatives.

More details are coming to light regarding Bruce Beresford-Redman, the TV producer's affair and the case being built around his wife's recent murder.

On April 8, the body of Monica Beresford-Redman washed up in a Cancun sewer. As you can read about HERE, Bruce is the sole suspect in the investigation.

Since that date, Monica's sister has alleged that Bruce was having an affair with a former co-worker, a woman identified as Joy Pierce. Now, a series of emails between Bruce, Joy and even Monica have been uncovered by Radar Online, all of which confirm a marriage in disarray.

Dated in March, just a month or so prior to Monica's death, the emails expose Bruce and Joy's affair. Reads one, written by the former to the latter:

"Clearly I am a piece of s**t. What I did to Monica was lousy and as you know it required me to lie to her for months. In fact her hatred for you (which was wholly unjustified for years) has had me lying to her wherever you were concerned for years."

Anger building, Bruce later writes that his wife has "denied me access to my children... shut me out of my home...  liquidated all my money... and alleged at my daughter's school that I am abusive."

At one point, Monica actually emailed Joy and wrote that she "wants to expose [Bruce], so he can feel stupid."

Joy eventually chose to leave both sides of the couple alone and replied to Monica: "I would prefer that you stop. I am no longer involved in your situation and would like to be left alone. Best of luck."

According to Mexican authorities, Bruce Beresford-Redman is the only suspect in the recent murder of his wife.

Earlier this month, the body of the former TV producer's wife, Monica, turned up in a Cancun sewer located outside a luxury hotel where the couple had been staying. It's sad, disturbing stuff.

On April 8, Beresford-Redman was arrested and released by local police. He isn't allowed to leave the country, as officials await DNA results.

A couple days after this horrifying incident, the victim's sister alleged that Bruce had been having an affair, and sources later identited this mistress as Joy Pierce. She and Beresford-Redman worked together on a few television projects.

TMZ has uncovered a photo of Bruce and Joy, taken last summer. It doesn't prove anything, but it doesn't help Beresford-Redman's case, either...

Bruce Beresford-Redman has been released from the custody of Mexican authorities - but the former television producer is still considered the prime suspect in the recent death of his wife, Monica.

Last week, Monica's body was discovered in a sewer near the hotel where Bruce and her had been vacationing in Cancun. Witnesses had spotted the pair arguing a couple nights earlier, and Bruce was found with scratch marks on his neck.

Soon after thie grisly case came to light, Monica's sister (Carla Burgos) went on record with this bombshell: Bruce had been having an affair.

Now, Radar Online reports the identity of this mistress to be Joy Pierce.

Pictured: Bruce Beresford-Redman and his late wife, Monica. The former is a person of interest in the latter's death.

Pierce and Beresford-Redman first worked together in 2005 on The Contender. They also collaborated on a USA network show, titled Crash Course, last year. Their affair ended just months ago, sources told Radar.

“That’s why they went to Mexico - because she decided she wanted to try and reconcile the marriage and she believed he was done with the other woman,” Burgos said. “He told her, ‘I love you, I want to be with you.’ Monica really believed Bruce didn’t want to be with the other woman.”

Pierce has not been reached for comment.

Still a suspect in his wife's murder, Bruce Beresford-Redman has been released by Mexican authorities.

But a Los Angeles court has granted temporary custody of his children (ages five and three) to the former TV producer's parents. The children will reside with these relatives while police determine if Beresford-Redman played a role in his wife's death.

"My wife and I are grief-stricken at the loss of our beloved daughter-in-law," Bruce's father, David Beresford-Redman, said yesterday. "We know our son loved Monica and would never have harmed her."

That's not what Carla Burgos says, however. She claims Bruce was having an affair and is positive he's responsible for her sister's murder.

Beresford-Redman has been handed over to the U.S. Consolate and taken to an undisclosed location in Mexico.

"He can't leave the country," said Francisco Alor, attorney general for the state of Quintana Roo. "We still can't say that he is responsible, but that's the starting point of the investigation because we have witnesses who say he was the last to see her alive."

More details are emerging on the death of Monica Beresford-Redma, and none of them make husband Bruce Beresford-Redman look very good.

The former Emmy-winning producer of Survivor has been detailed in the death of his wife, whose body turned up in a Cancun sewer this week.

According to the victim's sister, Carla Burgos, there's a motive for Bruce's alleged crime: Moncia recently discovered his infidelity.

“I know he was having an affair,” Burgos told RadarOnline.com. “And she found out.”

On Monday night, the couple was spotted arguing at the Moon Palace resort in Mexico, where they were vacationing. A day later, Bruce reported his wife as missing after she supposedly didn't return from a shopping trip. Her body was found yesterday morning.

"They never fought. I mean there were arguments but they never got physical," Carla said. "I’m in shock. I never would have expected this to happen, not from him."

Now, however, she's positive that it did, indeed, happen - and Bruce is to blame.

“I’m sure now. There were witnesses who heard someone screaming and calling for help. [Bruce] also has scratches on his arm."

Beresford-Redman has not been charged with any crimes yet. He's considered the main suspect in the investigation.
