Britney Spears looked distressed following a judge's decision allowing her only supervised visits with her sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1.

During runs to Ralph's Supermarket in L.A. and a local Starbucks, the 25-year-old was seen clutching her Yorkie, London, while crying in anguish.

She appeared to be in better spirits later while enjoying a dinner of quesadillas and margarita with friend Sam Lutfi at Casa Escobar in Malibu.

On her way out of the eatery, Britney Spears showered the paparazzi with praise. "I love you guys," she told celebrity news photographers.

Her good mood didn't last long, however. After she climbed into her car, she began sobbing uncontrollably once again. Girl needs a whole team of shrinks.

Meanwhile, Britney Spears' former bodyguard Tony Barretto is back in the news. Us Weekly learned via a statement released by Barretto's lawyer, Gloria Allred, that he has filed an abuse claim, or "Child Abuse Referral," against Spears.

The referral gives the Department of Child and Family Services the legal power to investigate Spears' care Sean Preston and Jayden James. The DCFS has said that its professionals will look into the matter.

Britney Spears cries in anguish. Meanwhile, former bodyguard and notable land mass Tony Barretto cries, in a manner of speaking, for help from officials.

"I call on Britney Spears to cooperate with the investigation of Children and Family Services," Glorida Allred said on behalf of Tony Barretto in a statement.

This is not the first referral that has been filed regarding Britney Spears with the DCFS. She has been investigated and cleared three times in the past two years, for driving with Sean Preston in her lap, not preventing Sean Preston from falling out of his high chair, and contributing to poor hygiene and eating habits of both sons.

Tony Barretto filed a declaration to the court September 17 claiming Britney Spears used drugs and alcohol while caring for her children.

Since then, Barretto has been on a national media tour touting his concern for poor Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline as his motive for coming forward with information about the pop-mom's erratic behavior.

It's the moment we've been anticipating for so long. Or at least since an hour ago when we first learned about it. Britney Spears' music video from her new single, "Gimme More," has been released online as of this morning.

Its premiere on MTV is set for October 8. "Gimme More" was featured during Britney's epic meltdown at the MTV VMAs last month, and the first single from her upcoming album, Blackout, which is reportedly set to drop November 13.

While the first few days of Britney Spears' week have been rough, with a court taking away custody of the singer's two sons and all, things are turning around!

Well, maybe.

Britney is back to work - if you can call it that - filming her new music video for "Gimme More." And she just got a vote of confidence from her record label, Jive, which called her "one of the great recording artists of her time," in a statement released to the press this week. See below.

"Jive is enormously excited about Britney Spears' new album, and confident that it will secure her reputation as one of the great recording artists of her time. As Britney's label, it's not our place to comment on her personal issues, but we do care about her and support her. There's no question that when performers attain the level of celebrity that Britney has, they tend to be treated by the press and public as if they were just characters in cartoons or soap operas, and we forget they're human.

People say that's the trade-off a celebrity makes for success - that if you want to make it big, you have to surrender your privacy or the ability to lead a normal life. But sometimes you make that bargain before you realize what it entails. Britney's a grown woman who makes her own choices, and we respect that. But she faces challenges that most of us can't imagine."

TRANSLATION: We have Britney Spears under contract for a certain number of albums and are paying her producers a lot of money, and therefore have no choice but to call in the spin doctors and milk this new album for every dollar we can before severing ties with her sometime around 2009.

Similarly, after a judge ordered that her ex, Kevin Federline, will retain custody of their two sons, Sean and Jayden, and that she will only be given supervised visitation rights, Britney Spears found some support in her longtime pal.

And cutie. And enabler. And maybe cousin. And past personal assistant. And possible hanger-on trying to get famous and/or rich as Britney Spears' b!tch.

Whatever you want to call her, we're talking about Alli Sims. Here, on a nighttime outing in Beverly Hills Wednesday, Alli Sims is rocking a USC Law t-shirt (studying up on how to embezzle and launder Britney Spears' money maybe?) while gazing longingly at Brit. They're like... kissin' cousins or something.

The Hollywood Gossip's opening odds of Britney Spears and Alli Sims becoming lovers by the end of 2008? 3:1. Odds of Alli using Britney for personal gain? 6:5.

According to London's The Sun, Britney Spears' aunt, Chanda McGovern, says that her family fears they will "turn on the TV and find out she is dead."

So she's not too concerned that her niece might die, just that she might learn about it on TV? It's true, that could really ruin a dinner party.

Chanda McGovern told the British newspaper that she's worried Britney Spears' self-destructive behavior is nearing a breaking point. And apparently feels that getting lots of money by talking to a tabloid is a great way to help Brit out.

Seriously folks. We understand Matt Encinias getting to second base with Britney in a drunken haze and then selling out. But her aunt? Hey, at least she can pack lightly for her upcoming vacation - the weather's nice and hot in hell.

Anyway, here's what McGovern says about her niece: "We are worried things are going to spiral out of control... whether it be intentionally or accidental, there may be a drug overdose. We are worried about suicidal tendencies in her."

McGovern married Britney Spears' uncle 14 years ago. An 11-year-old Britney sang at their wedding. This was before she developed an aversion to pants.

Chanda McGovern confessed that her family has been pleading for her to take a break from L.A. and come back to her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.

"She has not got a backbone, a family member to help her... Her mother was her backbone. Since they've fallen out, everything has gone to hell."

McGovern says she wasn't surprised that an L.A. judge handed custody of Sean and Jayden, Spears' sons, over to their dad, Kevin Federline, on Monday.

"The kids came second and her party life has always come first, so it really wasn't a shock that the kids have been taken away from her."

McGovern, herself a mother of three, even expressed great disapproval over her 25-year-old niece's choice of underwear ... or, more accurately, lack thereof: "Not wearing panties is not something a true southern girl would do."

Well, at least this pathetic sellout relative got one thing right. Britney Spears, no underwear just ain't appropriate when you be gone clubbin'! Ding dang, girl!

No program or mindset has ever been installed in Britney Spears that makes her just want to stay home, clean the house, make a PBJ sandwich and watch The Hills sometimes.

This would also mean, you know, spending time with her sons.

Britney's hard partying ways and relentless self-destructive path, Fox News notes in a recent editorial, leaves her prospects for regaining custody in doubt.

"She will always be a visitor now," sneered a source close to the case.

According to sources, Kevin Federline's camp filed motions last Friday to take the kids away from Britney Spears. Among other things, they claimed she hadn't made arrangements for mandatory counseling and drug testing.

Cited in the papers was the declaration of Britney's former bodyguard, Tony Barretto, who claimed he witnessed Spears parading around nude in front of her kids, doing drugs at a restaurant and having done crystal meth in a hotel.

Despite the fact that last week Britney Spears was described by the judge as a habitual drug user, the singer simply decided to ignore his opinion.

Instead of keeping her kids at home, quiet, warm and safe, she took them to a Malibu diner where celebrity news photographers hounded them. So great is Britney's need for public approbation that she pimped out the kids.

What made it worse was news that she was driving without a valid driver's license. Of course, a prior late night drinking champagne didn't help.

The big question is why? Why is she doing all this? And who is advising her? The answer? No one. She has no manager or publicist. She doesn't speak to her own mother, Lynne Spears, upon whom she served legal papers months ago.

That leaves her "cousin" Alli Sims â€" and that's another story.

Sources say that Alli Sims, who is not a close cousin of Britney, has set out to remake her own personal version of "All About Eve" or "Gaslight."

"She wants her own career as a singer," a source says. "She's ambitious and going after it. They recently played her demos up at the label and everyone loved them."

All this talk about Alli and her possible motives to see Britney fail makes us wonder who the pop star's actual friends - if there are any - might be.

And who in God's name is advising Spears to get drunk and drive around without a valid license, while using her kids as passengers no less?

This whole episode is eerily reminiscent of Anna Nicole Smith.

All the plot points in Smith's bizarre last year of life: the pregnancy, the death of her son, the scheming of her lawyer and companion, the rise of her personal shrink as her doctor, Anna's own death â€" look like a blueprint for Britney.

Someone should sober Britney Spears up quickly and make her read some of these stories, unless she wants to wind up a corpse.

If you thought things couldn't get any worse, or bizarre, in the life of Britney Spears, you obviously don't read enough celebrity news.

She's redefining the depths to which she sinks by the day. The latest? In Touch Weekly reporting that there is a new Britney Spears sex tape.

A guy who met Britney Spears while she was on vacation in June tells In Touch that he made a graphic sex video of them and that it might become public.

The 28-year-old, who was living on Hawaii's Big Island at the time, says he left his camera rolling without Britney Spears' knowledge as he was going to town on her at the Four Seasons hotel on the Kona-Kohala Coast June 7.

Britney Spears was first the subject of sex tape rumors right after she and Kevin Federline split last winter. Now a new sex tape rumor is making the rounds.

So far, according to Perez Hilton, the only thing this new dude claims is holding him back from releasing the sex tape is disappointment in his own performance - he's too embarrassed to let the rest of the world see it!

It's alright, man. We can handle it. Besides, we're talking about sex with Britney Spears. You think she was sober enough to remember the details?

In Touch claims he met the mother of Sean Preston and Jayden James in the bar at 1 a.m., and that they partied together in Britney's room before hooking up.

"It was just normal sex, we didn't do anything crazy," he says. "It was a little disappointing. It lasted for 25 minutes and then we passed out."

So to sum up, we are talking about a Britney Spears sex tape in which she gets it on with some dude for 25 minutes and then falls asleep. Wow.

What do you think? Is this Britney Spears sex tape for real? It seems like a classic bogus piece of made-up celebrity gossip, but then again, considering who we're talking about here, you can't be sure it's bull$h!t by any means.

The real million-dollar question: With David Hans Schmidt now deceased, who's gonna get ahold of the tape and leak clips to the press as they shop it for seven figures? Rest in peace, big fella. You are already missed.

Thanks to his passionate, tearful and unintentionally hilarious appeal for celebrity gossip sites and people in general to back off Britney Spears (!), nut job Chris Crocker quickly became one of the train wreck singer's best-known fans.

The feeling is not mutual.

The Tennessee native, who garnered instant fame after posting his "Leave Britney Alone!" YouTube video, rubs the pop princess the wrong way.

"Britney does not think Chris Crocker is funny," a Spears pal, possibly Sam Lufti, tells Us Weekly. "She thinks he's creepy and that his videos are an obvious attempt at fame. She finds it insulting and difficult to watch."

But Chris Crocker defends his teary online tribute.

"It was to give Britney fans a voice," he said. "There is nothing insulting there. It was for her fans to show our support."

Crocker was in L.A. promoting Onch Movement jewelry when he learned Spears lost custody of Sean Preston Federline, 2, and Jayden James Federline, 1.

But her #1 fan is confident that the situation is only temporary.

"My mom lost custody of me when she was younger and she got it back," says the outspoken Crocker. "She can always get it together. She's just not herself right now, it's a transitional time in her life. She's got time to change and she will."

Thanks, as always, for the words of infinite wisdom, Chris Crocker. It's a good thing this dude is getting his own reality show.

After losing custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James and dropping them off with Kevin Federline, going tanning, and finally stopping by the DMV, the great Britney Spears checked into Beverly Hills' Peninsula Hotel.

Her friend Sam Lufti - best known for getting into a physical altercation while getting served in Spears' custody fight - was there, and tells Us Weekly that she remains optimistic about regaining custody of the boys soon.

"She is doing okay," Sam Lufti said. "It has been a rough day. But she is feeling very optimistic about the future."

A source close to Britney Spears says her optimism comes from the fact the Monday decision to give K-Fed custody was merely the result of scheduling conflicts that kept Spears from showing up for court-mandated drug testing.

Some of our staff members know from experience that it's hard to find the time to give a blood sample twice a week in between all the trips to the DMV, tanning salons and various nightclubs that a person must make.

"There were scheduling conflicts and errors in communication as to times and places for drug tests, et cetera, but they're all squared away now," the source says. "Britney is hoping a judge will reverse the order as of Wednesday, now that she is making steps to follow through on what they have asked."

Sam Lufti, who took Britney Spears to the DMV to, at long last, get her a valid California license has been taking care of the scheduling for the troubled singer.

"Sam Lufti is arranging for Britney's drug tests. He's getting her back on track. Everyone is optimistic about her regaining custody," says a source.

Still, another friend of Spears' has a different story about the 25-year-old slow moving train wreck pop-star's mindset, saying: "She's so scared. For Britney, [losing Sean and Jayden] was her realest moment ever... She doesn't know what to do."

The concerned friend adds, "She is going hit an all time low."

And this celebrity gossip site will be there to cover it.

Okay, don't answer that, Columbus Short. Or you, J.R. Rotem. Or all of you, Isaac Cohen, Jason Filyaw, Howie Day, Matt Encinias, Criss Angel, Shannon Funk and Daimon Shippen. That's just a rhetorical question, aight?

She may have lost custody of her kids as of yesterday, but Britney Spears is still making good music. Or at least music. We've gotten ahold of the lyrics to one of her deep, passionate new songs, entitled "Piece of Me."

In the song, the mother of Jayden James and Sean Preston, seen here going after celebrity news media with an umbrella in February, blames all her problems on being famous and says that the public eye ruins her life.

"You want a piece of me? Come get it, y'all!"

There's even one line (see below), in which Britney sings (and we use that term loosely): "Don't matter if I step on the scene or sneak away to the Philippines, they still got pictures of my derrière in the magazine."

Three points about this, before we move on...

1. There's a good chance this is the worst rhyme of all time. No one sneaks away to the Philippines. Come on. That's the best you can do?
2. There's no way Britney Spears knows what derrière means.
3. Maybe her rear end (that's what it means!) wouldn't be in magazines if she wouldn't run errands or go clubbing in no underwear! Often!
