Like the rest of us, a longtime friend of Britney Spears is exasperated that the singer keeps exposing herself in public.

"The underwear thing is ridiculous â€" and I've told her," Tuesday Knight, a jewelry designer who has been a friend of Britney's since 2003, tells the latest issue of In Touch Weekly.

"I've said, ‘You cannot walk into a store wearing just a shirt with your underwear off.' I've told her no one will take her seriously if she does."

Tuesday Knight believes Britney's insecurity after her divorce from Kevin Federline led to her exposing her providing us upskirt pics quite often.

"I love Britney â€" adore her â€" but she brings a lot of it on herself," says Tuesday, 38. "I've heard [fellow crotch shot queens] Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan talk about how they shock Hollywood just for fun."

"Britney has always been a good mother," she says. "I want people to know that she's the better parent, not Kevin!" Tuesday Knight adds, "Britney asked me, ‘Doesn't anybody get to see this part of me?' The answer is, no, they don't. People just read about her wearing no underwear."

Tuesday Knight blames Kevin Federline for Britney's devolution.

"I knew Britney when she and Kevin first met," Tuesday says. "She remade her entire life so it was all about him. She didn't even want to sign a prenup. Since then, I've watched her spiral downward."

Now, Britney Spears' ongoing problem of wearing no pants and flashing her baby factory could get her in even more trouble with the law.

"The rules on indecent exposure are the same for everybody," says attorney Myles Alderman Jr. of New York's Alderman & Alderman law firm, which does not represent Britney. "If you can see her exposing herself at eye level, then that would be sufficient evidence and could create a legal issue."

Before that happens, Tuesday Knight hopes that her friend will realize that she doesn't have to humiliate herself to get attention.

"Britney doesn't need to do it and she knows it's stupid," says Tuesday. "But she says that she just doesn't like to wear underwear."

The great Britney Spears was already looking for the next party as she left an LAPD police station after being booked on charges of hit-and-run and driving without a valid license in California on Monday night.

The 25-year-old pop star turned herself in for an August 6 incident in which she hit someone else's car with hers, parked and walked away without leaving a note.

At the station, Britney Spears mug shot was taken, then she was fingerprinted and released on the promise to appear in court later this month.

While exiting the police station (wearing sunglasses at night), she submitted to a quick Q&A with a CBS reporter. Needless to say, it was a riveting exchange.

How did it go?
"Amazing."

What was the experience like?
"They were nice."

Do you feel relieved?
"Yeah."

What are you guys doing tonight?
"Where's the party at?"

Any plans for Halloween?
"Not yet."

No outfits for the kids?
"Um, not yet."

Yeah. Perhaps Britney Spears should just zip it and leave all future comments to Sam Lutfi, Alli Sims or whomever her personal assistant is at that moment.

Britney Jean Spears, also known as #1020419, is 5'5" and weighs 125 pounds, her hair is brown and so are her eyes. She was officially arrested at 9:25 p.m. on Monday, October 15, and booked just one minute later.

Yes, one-time singer and venerable train wreck Britney Spears turned herself in and was booked Monday for her two driving-related misdemeanor charges.

"At around 9:25 this evening, Ms. Spears turned herself in to the Van Nuys Jail for booking," said LAPD officer Mike Lopez. "This was by court order, which is common for a misdemeanor charge."

A smiling Spears, wearing a short black dress, a black jacket and carrying a white purse, was accompanied by her good friend Sam Lufti and her lawyer J. Michael Flanagan when she surrendered at the jail.

On October 9, the "star" and "singer" was ordered by L.A. Court Commissioner Rebecca Omens to be booked. She will be arraigned for misdemeanor charges - hit-and-run causing property damage and driving without a valid license.

Spears, who is due back in court October 25, faces up to a year in jail if convicted, but Flanagan previously told People, "We're working toward a resolution of the case, but we don't have a firm deal yet." Bribes go a long way.

The charges stem from a fender bender in a San Fernando Valley parking lot on August 6. Britney Spears made a wide right turn into a parking space, scraped another car's bumper and then left without leaving a note.

Surrounded by reporters from celebrity photo agencies during one of many coffee runs, what's a train wreck to do? Well, obviously, put on sunglasses at night inside your car and curl up with a good book most of us read in grade school: C.S. Lewis's classic The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

We assume one of Britney's revolving team assistants / pals (Sam Lutfi, Alli Sims, etc) went to get her coffee while she read from the The Chronicles of Narnia series. We miss the days when Jayden James would also be there. Sigh.

After weeks of fake album covers making the rounds on celebrity news sites, the real cover for Britney Spears' new CD, Blackout, has finally been revealed.

However, fans still have to wait until October 30 for Blackout to hit stores. Try to contain yourselves over this crushing disappointment. Here's the cover ...

The album's release date was originally scheduled for November 13, but Britney Spears' label, Jive, decided to move up the date after some songs and demos from the record began leaking online. See the official track listing below:

The celebrity news media better get its wheels and road maps ready, because it looks like Britney Spears could actually be heading out on tour.

Staff from Us Weekly caught up with the Millenium Dance Studio owner, Robert Baker, who filled the rag in on some of the details of Britney's upcoming tour.

Us: Britney has been a client of yours for some time. What's she like?
Robert Baker: Britney is a wonderful person, and has got the biggest heart out there. She's doing good and decent things that people in the public never see. This is what we see as Britney Spears as a client.

Us: What happened with the auditions Britney set up for today?
Robert Baker: She had a big audition set up for today, but something came up at the last minute, and she rescheduled for tomorrow.

Us: What are these auditions for?
Robert Baker: They are for the video of the second track from Blackout. I heard but I can't confirm that it might be the slightly slower song she was thinking about doing for the VMAs, for a tour. She wants male and females for both.

Us: How do you know she's planning a tour?
Robert Baker: Britney booked a considerable amount of space and time for the next couple of months, and of course we're honored and humbled that she's chosen us again. The tell tale sign for us is her booking space.

Us: How do you feel she's fairing through all these distractions?
Robert Baker: I can't speak for what goes on in people's heads, but I can say that she's strong and she's coming back. She's strong, dedicated, a hard worker and professional. I know I couldn't do what she's achieved.

Us: When did she cancel today's auditions? Were the dancers disappointed?
Robert Baker: I'd rather not say. What I can say, and would like to stress, is that Britney Spears is a talented entertainer, an amazing individual. People buying her record is testament to her ability to come back.

After her abysmal day in court yesterday, Britney Spears decided to blow off some steam ... on yet another shopping trip, this time to Neiman Marcus.

Sources inside Neiman's tell TMZ she skipped the fragrance counter and went to makeup, where she purchased $700 worth. Her skin? Not lookin' good!

From there, Britney returned to Marina del Rey, where she hooked back up once again with the great J.R. Rotem - more developments surely to come.

Today's emergency hearing in the Britney Spears and Kevin Federline custody case ended without any ruling.

After meeting in court, the cafeteria, and in chambers regarding Spears' request for overnight visits with her sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, supervised by her mother, Lynne Spears, lawyers for both have "indicated they need to meet further" and will contact the court at a later date.

Earlier, Judge Scott M. Gordon questioned the validity of today's hearing, which was called by lawyers for Britney Spears, and said that the pop "singer" had put herself in this predicament through her own choices.

Gordon told Britney Spears' attorney, Anne Kiley, that he didn't consider this an emergency situation. "Your client made a conscious choice not to do what was ordered," Gordon said. "A choice that put us in this position."

Oh. No. He. Didn't.

The hearing reaffirms last week's decision to give Kevin Federline custody of the former couple's sons until the exes' next court date October 26.

Britney Spears is allowed visits with Sean Preston and Jayden James, but only during the day and if supervised by a court monitor.

Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said in response to Britney's request to have Lynne Spears monitor overnight visits: "I do not favor family members as monitors. It's an inherent conflict of interest."

In a display of how seriously she takes this, Britney Spears decided not make an appearance in person at the hearing, which took place at 8:30 a.m. in L.A.

Fortunately, no Britney Spears upskirt pic was entered into evidence. Wednesday night, Spears left her house around midnight, drove around town, and arrived at a private house at 2 a.m. She appears to have stayed there all morning.

UPDATE - STORY DEVELOPING: As of 5:30 p.m., Britney Spears will now be allowed one overnight visit with her kids per week - at least for the time being.

A court spokesman said today was the result of a compromise. Kaplan met with Britney's lawyers during lunch and the attorneys agreed to "slightly increase" her visitation. In other words, K-Fed agreed to give Brit a break... and a chance.

Seriously. It's getting a tad old.

Who would have thought, back in 2000, that we'd one day get tired of Britney Spears upskirt photos. But how much of a train wreck singer's axe wound do we really need to see? How many times can a hairless vagina be thrust in one's face without the recipient saying "enough is enough."

There is no reasoning. At this point, more people have seen Britney Spears with no underwear or no pants than know what her last hit song was. Come on, Lynne Spears. We thought you were getting your daughter under control!

Maybe Britney just needed to get some fresh air for the ol' coin slot after all the stress this custody battle and new album release are putting on her.

Either way, it's not entirely hot, in our opinion. And the court is not likely to give her overnight visits with Jayden James and Sean Preston with a Britney Spears upskirt pic as Exhibit A. Or similar ones that might be Exhibits B-Q.

Britney Spears plans to go to court today with her lawyers to ask the judge to expand her visitation rights to overnight visits with her kids.

We're not sure why she cares what house they stay overnight in, as she'll be out topless or in no underwear somewhere while they sleep anyway. But no matter.

Spears was urged by her lawyers to personally attend the hearing, which is scheduled for 8:30 AM local time in downtown Los Angeles.

According to TMZ, Britney Spears has now had several clean drug tests. Sticking to just alcohol for a whole week and a half? Wow! Better give her the kids back!

Britney's lawyers will use her passed drug tests and other evidence to make their case. They've told Britney her presence will show the judge how much she cares about the kids - she finally gets it and plans to show up.

Currently, Britney Spears has monitored visitation - the kids are deposited in the morning and returned to Kevin Federline in the early evening.

Meanwhile, celebrity gossip reporters recently caught Britney going into a Target in Culver City, where she went ballistic after peeps blocked her from shopping.

Brit was heard dropping the f-bomb, shouting "What the f*%k do you want?!" as her assistant (not Alli Sims, but a new girl!) snapped at a rent-a-cop who was doing little to control the situation. Great times (and low prices) at Target!

As Spears made her way out of the store, Britney was reportedly in better spirits, though, shouting "Bye, y'all!" as she drove off. Sweet gal.

We've been half-heartedly sarcastically passionately asking her to "Gimme More," and, well, now Britney Spears is going to do just that!

Jive Records has decided to move up the release date of Britney Spears' new album, entitled Blackout, from November 13 to October 30.

It's an appropriate album title for Britney Spears, as we all know. The girl has had some problems with the power company turning her electricity off lately.

The reason for the early release? Jive Records wants to put the kibosh on all of this unauthorized leaking of Britney Spears' songs onto the Internet.

Since the album's inception, songs and unfinished material and demos have made their way consistenyly onto celebrity gossip blogs and various music sites where they are easily and publicly ridiculed downloaded.

A Jive spokesperson said in a statement:

"Due to numerous unauthorized online leaks, the record label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs, including moving up the release date of the album to October 30."

You know who's even more excited about this than Jive? Lynne Spears. She's back in Britney's good graces - and back on the payroll just in time to cash in!
