Britney Spears Parties with Alli Sims, Tony Romo

As a guy who Carrie Underwood said bristled at the prospects of not being taken seriously as a football player while he was dating her, Tony Romo might want to think twice before hanging out with Britney Spears on his NFL bye week.

After a long, stressful custody hearing ("Eat it, lick it, snort it, f*%k it!") on Friday, Britney Spears hit the town with her longtime friend, Alli Sims - and naturally, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Romo, who's pals with Sims.

The pop star, dressed in a masquerade ball mask, and Alli Sims first made a quick stop at the L.A. restaurant Ketchup where Tony Romo was eating.

"[Britney] walked around the restaurant into the lounge where she met up with some people," an observer at Ketchup (possibly Heidi Montag) said.

"She didn't eat or drink ... [It] seemed like she was rounding up people to go to [out]. She was very friendly and smiley, in and out."

Another source says: "Alli Sims was meeting up with Tony Romo and his friends at Ketchup and Britney wanted to come along. Tony and Alli have been good friends. They've known each other for a little over a year. "

Britney Spears, Tony Romo

Later, Tony Romo met up with Alli Sims, Britney Spears and other pals at the hot night club Les Deux where they hung out for a friendly, low-key night upstairs.

Britney Spears was "sitting with her friends and Tony. Everyone was just hanging out. Britney was upbeat, really seemed fine."

Hey, as long as those little monsters Sean Preston and Jayden James aren't around, of course she's upbeat! Really, she seemed fine! Woo-hoo!

The following night, perhaps in a nod to Tony Romo, a source says that Alli Sims playfully dressed as a quarterback for Ryan Cabrera's costume party.

How lovely. We haven't heard much about Alli's signing career of late, sadly. In recent days, Romo has also been linked to One Tree Hill star Sophia Bush.

Notes From Britney Spears' Latest Custody Hearing

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline appeared together Friday for a three-hour, closed-door custody hearing - the latest courtroom face-off of the former couple.

Britney Spears took three bathroom breaks during the hearing, with her mood souring as the day wore on. At an early break, she told reporters off.

"Everything's great," she said when asked how it was going, but at a later break she cursed at a reporter, saying, "Snort it, f*%k it."

Well, alright then.

Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, was asked after the hearing if it was contentious. "When I'm there, it's always contentious," he said.

Britney Spears and Sons

The session ended with Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon making no ruling. That means for now, the status of Britney Spears' custody of her adorable little mistakes, Sean Preston and Jayden James, remains unchanged.

The court date was just the latest event in a whirlwind week for Spears, who also saw her long-estranged mom, Lynne Spears, announce her tell-all book.

"There was testimony and argument during the hearing," court spokeswoman Meredith Pierce said, "but Commissioner Gordon did not make a ruling."

"He took the case under submission, meaning that he will consider both sides of the case and will craft a new court order."

Spears' attorney, Sorrell Trope, said he was "absolutely satisfied" with the day, noting that Britney Spears would continue to have overnights with her sons.

"I left with a favorable feeling," he said.

Guess that means she didn't give everyone an upskirt at least.

Worst Mom Ever: Lynne Spears to Write Tell-All Book

If it weren't for Dina Lohan, she'd have the title wrapped up easily. But Lynne Spears is still one of the frontrunners for that (dis)honor.

The mother of Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears will have no shortage of material as she pens her personal tell-all of trying to whore out raise famous daughters.

Lynne Spears

Lynne and Britney had a falling out in June, when Britney delivered an upsetting letter to her mother following months of erratic behavior and a brief stay in rehab - which Britney blames Lynne Spears for.

Having only recently reconciled with the troubled "singer," the divorced Lynne has inked a lucrative book deal with the publisher Thomas Nelson, according to People.

Publishers Marketplace describes the new book as "Lynne Spears' personal story of trying to exploit and make tons of money off raising high-profile children while coming from a low-profile Louisiana community."

Thomas Nelson also publishes Bibles, as well as inspirational (Christian) books and some celebrities' work including Bill Cosby, according to Gawker.com.

The book is set to be published in spring 2008, right around the time we expect Britney Spears to land back in rehab after overdosing on meth.

Hit-and-Run Charge Against Britney Spears Dropped; Singer's Pants Soon to Follow

Just kidding. Even Britney Spears can refrain from parading around with no pants in a courtroom. At least we would hope so. No guarantees.

As predicted, a misdemeanor hit and run charge against Britney was settled and dismissed at a court hearing in Van Nuys, California, on Thursday.

The 25-year-old "singer" also pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving without a valid California license at the same hearing.

Britney Spears, who did not attend the hearing in person (she's busy you know), entered the plea through her attorney, Michael Flanagan.

In August, Britney Spears crashed her car into a station wagon, slightly damaging it, in a private Studio City, Calif., parking lot.

Spears intended to settle wit Kim Robard-Rifkin, 59, a nurse who learned about the incident after it was captured by celebrity photo agencies.

Britney Shops For Swings

In light of the settlement, the hit-and-run charge against her was dropped. But some say Britney Spears may not be so lucky regarding the license issue.

A source close to case said that Flanagan, Spears' attorney, planned to present documents proving Britney now has a valid license (which Sam Lutfi took her to get) in hopes of reducing the charge to a traffic citation.

But the L.A. City Attorney â€" who insists just because Britney Spears has now obtained a license doesn't excuse the fact that she drove without it â€" wants to slap the singer with a 12-month probation term and fine.

She is due back in court on the matter November 26. Spears is also due in court today, when she and Kevin Federline are expected to appear in front of Judge Scott M. Gordon about their custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Sam Lutfi: Britney Spears Wants to Auction Stuff Off

How much would you spend for a piece of Britney Spears?

Assuming she wouldn't sleep with you on the first date. Just kidding.

The "singer" is planning to auction off diaries and a slew of other personal belongings, her friend Sam Lutfi tells celebrity photo agency X17.

Sam Lutfi says that Britney Spears would like to donate proceeds "to a children's cause" that she'll announce at a later date.

Ironic, since she can't be bothered with her own children.

Britney Spears Sells Stuff

It is unknown when the auction will kick off and what Britney Spears items will be up for grabs. Maybe she should just sell off poor Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline while she's at it. Talk about a win-win situation!

"It's something Britney wanted to do to counterbalance all the rumors and negativity in the press," Sam Lutfi tells the celebrity photo agency.

"All she can do is be herself, love her kids and do small things like this to help people," Sam Lutfi said, apparently leaving out "stop parading around with no underwear and getting hammered every night of the week."

Britney Spears: In Parenting Class, On Sleep Meds

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline had their first court-ordered Parenting Without Conflict session Wednesday at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

The session, which lasted over an hour, ended around 2 p.m., and Britney Spears left the hotel shortly thereafter, Us Weekly reports.

Before the meeting, a source close to the pop star said: "Britney actually is really excited about seeing Kevin. She sees this as the first step in them really getting along for the sake of [Sean Preston and Jayden James]."

Right. And Riley Giles has never been arrested before.

Britney Spears: Real Normal

In other news, Britney Spears is on drugs.

No, not crystal meth and coke. Maybe. Celebrity news photographers snapped a container of Provigil, a prescription drug used to treat daytime sleepiness (and narcolepsy), in Spears' open purse as she made her way to parenting class.

"Unlike a traditional stimulant which has side effects such as hyperactivity and inattentiveness, the primary effect of this medication is only to help keep you from falling asleep," says Dr. Mark Milstein, a New York neurologist.

"Somebody who is living a celebrity lifestyle, who frequently is up early one day and very late the next, could easily develop very disordered sleep patterns."

That and someone who gets absolutely hammered in public most nights of the week and flashes their hairless vagina to all nearby onlookers?

Comeback (Crotch Shot) Queen: Can Britney Rise Again?

When a teenage Britney Spears was burped into the limelight way back in 1998, you could tell from the start she knew exactly what she was after.

Now 25, she can no longer stomach the level of fame she's attained. But can Britney Spears, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, resurrect her career?

That's the question appropriately asked by The Boston Phoenix, which notes that Americans love comeback queens almost as much as they love train wrecks.

Britney Spears: A Phoenix Rising From the Ashes

Can Britney Spears rise from the ashes of her own self-destruction?

"Everybody is really attuned to showing what a manic-depressive, bipolar, poor-mother mess this girl is," says Kelly Cutrone, former publicist and the founder and CEO of People's Revolution PR in New York City.

"Everybody's building on it, stalking her, and running around getting pictures of Britney Spears, just waiting for ‘the moment' to line up."

Yet despite her penchant for irresponsible partying, her astoundingly bad VMA performance, a poor driving record and â€" rock bottom â€" the loss of custody of her sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline, Spears' new single "Gimme More" may still hit pop pay dirt and Blackout drops October 30. So there is hope.

Most Americans get off on a good redemption story, and Britney Spears would make a darling poster girl â€" but can she just stop parading that naked vagina around like a beauty-queen's crown long enough to turn things around?

It's the question of our time. In a show of encouragement to the Louisiana lush, The Phoenix came up with a field guide to celebrity comebacks. The pop princess is a Category One at the moment. Follow the jump to continue.

Report: Britney Spears Stiffed Backup Dancers

Backup dancers from Britney Spears' infamous MTV VMA debacle likely can't get her new single, "Gimme More," out of their heads.

And not because the song is good. It's not!

A source tells Us Weekly that the dancers have yet to be fully compensated for their work leading up to the September 9 event - which went great.

"The dancers were paid for the actual show and some of the rehearsals, but not all of them," an industry insider says.

Britney Spears at VMAs

The problem may stem from Britney Spears being unceremoniously dropped by her own management agency, The Firm, back on September 17.

Not the same firm featured in the Tom Cruise movie The Firm, we're guessing.

"Her management usually pays the dancers," explains the source.

McDonald/Selznick Associates, which booked the dancers, had no comment on the matter. But it's just the latest bad news for Britney Spears.

Her family feud and bitter custody battle continue to dominate headlines, most recently yesterday when her "parenting coach" slammed her.

Britney Spears' Parenting Coach Paints Pretty Picture

Not! Britney Spears' parenting coach - yes, a parenting coach (could it get more pathetic?) has submitted a report to the court - and it's worse than you think.

Sources say the two-and-a-half page report depicts Britney Spears ignoring the parenting coach - we're talking about not even acknowledging her presence.

The coach, who might want to take up a new profession, says she was unable to teach the "singer" anything, because Britney Spears didn't wanna listen, y'all!!

Coffee Run

The report, which was presented to the court yesterday and will be critical in the task of determining if Spears should regain 50/50 custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James Federline, 1, concludes that Britney often ignores her kids and lives in her own little world. Now there's something we didn't know!

Moreover, Britney often disappeared and wasn't around the coach... or the kids. The coach says Britney "spends lots of time on the phone and changing clothes." The Hollywood Gossip could have told y'all this without wasting money on a coach!

Spears' fate won't be sealed until October 26, but K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is certainly going to have a field day with this one.

Britney Spears: A Blackout Album Photo

If, after reading the headline of this post, you were expecting a photo of Britney Spears blacked out and face down on the floor naked next to Howie Day and piles of cocaine and crystal meth, you were mistaken. But good guess.

Courtesy of People magazine, we've got the first look at a photo outtake from Blackout, Britney Spears' first album in nearly three years, due to hit stores October 30. It's looking like a hit in the making. Possibly.

In addition to her first single "Gimme More," Spears' new disc includes tracks titled "Piece of Me," "Ooh Ooh Baby," "Get Naked (I Got A Plan)," "Freakshow" and many more. We're sort of eagerly anticipating its release.

In the meantime, here's a surprisingly non-nude Britney Spears pic ...
