All the non-stop coverage of Britney Spears' recent traffic troubles and parenting mishaps is driving some people crazy. Among them? Candy Spelling.

T.H. GOSSIP NOTE: Candy Spelling sucks. As mothers and people go, she may even have Britney Spears' own mother, Lynne Spears, beat by a long shot.

Candy Spelling: Standing up for Britney Spears. 

In a column on The Huffington Post Sunday, Candy Spelling cited a November 16 Los Angeles Times article about Britney Spears driving over the feet of a sheriff's deputy and two photographers. She's not pleased. She writes:

"Enough. It's time to leave this girl alone ... She didn't run over the feet of the two paparazzi or one sheriff's deputy on purpose. I've seen 'breaking news' of her driving on many networks, and I don't think her aim is that good... Feet must not count. We've already learned they are just misdemeanors. Fortunately, the foot faults do not seem to have resulted in any injuries to the three victims."

Candy Spelling's ridiculous rant continues ...

"That can't be the case for Spears, or her children [Sean Preston and Jayden James] whose terrified faces we see each time the paparazzi invade her car to get photos. Three feet is enough. We all know that something terrible is destined to happen to Spears, her kids, one of the photographers or innocent bystanders if she isn't given a few feet of space and privacy. How about a time out?"

She might have a little bit of a point.

Britney Spears clearly asks for it by parading around with no pants and going to public places at all hours, but maybe celebrity photo agencies should back off a little, too. As long as they don't give us Candy Spelling nude pics instead.

This hot piece of celebrity gossip has been bandied about before in recent weeks, but we're just coming across it - Britney Spears apparently thinks her mother, Lynne Spears, may be sleeping with Kevin Federline.

Earlier this fall, it was reported that Britney Spears suspected her mother of sleeping with her ex-husband. Now the rumors are being rehashed.

A friend of the younger Spears tells Star Magazine: "In a fit of rage, Britney accused her mom of sleeping with Kevin!"

"Britney doesn't know up from down right now. She's so confused and angry, she told [Lynne Spears] that she was backstabbing, that she was probably sleeping with Kevin Federline just to hurt her feelings. Lynne is deeply hurt that her own daughter would viciously accuse her of something so terrible."

Britney Spears and Lynne Spears have a very normal relationship.

Many of Britney Spears' friends (possibly Alli Sims, Sam Lutfi, Lucy Walsh), feel that these accusations further prove her mental instability of late.

You'd think being able to see would be critical to one's ability to drive once the sun has gone down, but you'd also think a lot of things a certain train wreck wouldn't necessarily agree with. This picture of Britney Spears speaks for itself.

Hopefully Britney Spears did not hit anyone from any celebrity photo agencies at the time this picture was taken. We suggest she just let the court appointed monitor drive next time. Or Jayden James. He'd probably be better at driving.

Really, what's a day in the celebrity news business without reporting on a driving debacle involving "singer" and (mother of the year candidate) Britney Spears?

This time, the 25-year-old train wreck allegedly ran over a celebrity photo agency member's foot while leaving the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when Spears and pal Sam Lutfi pulled up to the valet and photographers began surrounding her white Mercedes.

Britney Spears then pulled into the back entrance of the property as Sam Lutfi sat in the passenger seat. She was still there as of 10:20 p.m., reports indicate.

Another emergency hearing in her battle with ex Kevin Federline over custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James is scheduled for Friday.

Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan â€" who has insisted that Britney Spears not be allowed to drive when with her kids â€" requested the hearing after a new video and pics surfaced of the nutcase running a red light with her two sons in the back and the court monitor praying for her life in the passenger seat November 8.

At least there's still one member of Team Britney.

A lot of people feel that Britney Spears sucks, and they ain't talkin' about no liposuction. But the troubled singer still has some fans left. Or at least one.

Take this girl below. Promiscuous sex, excessive drug and alcohol use, crotch shots and upskirt pics every other day, running through red lights with her oft-neglected sons in the back seat - nothing can tarnish this loyal fan's image of her hero.

Moron.

We're not exactly members of "Team K-Fed" here at The Hollywood Gossip, but whatever the hell "Team Britney Los Angles" consists of, well, you can count us out. Appealing as clubbing with no underwear seems, we think we'll just say no.

As Britney Spears' custody battle over Sean Preston and Jayden James rages on, this passionate young fan shows the pop star her unconditional support. And her utter cluelessness. And her need to get a life... and eat the occasional salad.

It occurs to The Hollywood Gossip staff writers that we have not come across any good Britney Spears pictures in, like, at least a day or two.

Much like an inexplicable lack of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt on celebrity news sites, we were thinking this had to be some kind of record for Britney.

It turns out The Daily Mail (U.K.) may have a good theory as to how - or why - this rare feat was accomplished. And it's not exactly pretty.

The publication is reporting that Britney had liposuction in Las Vegas over the weekend, and claims she underwent the same procedure last April.

They probably sucked out gallons of pork rinds and $7 designer lattes from Starbucks. Let's just pray Spears didn't have Jan Adams do the honors, eh?

It's also being claimed by the British newspaper that Britney Spears is seeing a pair of psychologists hired by her long-estranged mother, Lynne Spears.

Spears likely needs a whole team of psychiatrists, after all, because one would just go insane listening to Britney and her hick-tinged verbal diarrhea.

Moreover, lawyers for Britney and Kevin Federline will be back in the courtroom on Friday regarding the tape of Spears running a red light with her children dozing in the back seat and a court monitor ducking for cover up front.

Spears' lawyer, Anne Kiley, said of the traffic incident, documented in pictures: "She was distracted. This was not blatant irresponsible driving on her part."

Yeah, people. So there. Sending a text message while not watching traffic lights and endangering people's lives is a distraction, and not Britney's fault at all. And even if she were to blame, you don't know what it's like to be a pop star!

Inspired by recent events of lunacy, Kevin Federline and his attorney are once again dragging the great Britney Spears back into court for an emergency custody hearing, a session which will take place on Friday in L.A. Superior Court.

Spears' attorney, Anne Kiley, confirmed to Us Weekly that Kevin Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has requested a hearing to address Spears' running of a red light with her two kids in the back seat on November 8.

A court-appointed monitor was also in the car, cowering in fear.

The couple's most recent (and amusing) court appearance came last Thursday, when it was revealed that Spears failed to take - and thus failed, in the court's eyes - eight of 14 drug tests that are both random and required by the court.

Court commissioner Scott Gordon ordered Britney Spears to get a single, working telephone number where she could be called for future tests.

No word on whether the insane one has compiled with that order. Where do they expect Britney Spears to pay for that? It's not like she's saving any money.

In case you missed it, some bombshell news came out of the personal finance world last week, Money Magazine reports. No, not the Federal Reserve's prime interest rate cut or the record-breaking price of crude oil nearing $100 a barrel.

We're talking about Britney Spears. Girl isn't saving for retirement!

Although the 25-year old pop star is hauling in some $737,000 a month from album sales, royalties and endorsements, she's not saving or investing a penny.

More than $100,000 a month goes to entertainment, gifts and vacations.

While most of us may be shocked by such excesses, Britney Spears' spending habits are actually pretty normal. The majority of American 20-somethings don't save.

Assuming the mother of Sean Preston and Jayden James could somehow scrape by on 70-80 percent of her pre-retirement income while in retirement - or just about $590,000 a month in today's dollars - Spears would have to put away a mere 8 percent of her earnings to save over $300 million by age 65.

And now for a rare piece of Britney Spears news that doesn't involve any sort of court proceeding or upskirt / crotch shot photo. Yes, it's true.

The alleged singer is auctioning off a signed copy her new album, Blackout, on eBay, partnering with a celebrity picture agency in that endeavor.

Britney Spears and celebrity photo agency X17 will donate proceeds from the sale to the children's rights group UNICEF.

"I think it's important to give back and with the release of Blackout, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to give the fans a chance to bid on something to help children everywhere," Spears told her partner X17.

Britney Spears: Always one to give back. And wear pants.

The highest bid as of 5 p.m. Monday? $715. Which is nice and all, but with Brit's $737,000 monthly income, if she wanted to give back, she might be able to do a decent job of it while skipping this whole charade.

A source connected to Britney Spears says she tested positive in one of her recent drug exams, although the source says it was a false positive.

"The only thing that comes on the results are the prescriptions, that the court doctor prescribed," the source close to Spears added, "There has been no illegal drugs or even alcohol in any of the test results."

Britney Spears is seeing a psychiatrist as part of her ongoing custody case. That could be what the source was talking about with respect to the court doctor.

There are reports that Britney's positive drug test last week was due to Provigil, a prescription for treatment of narcolepsy. It turns out this is not the case.

In generic drug testing ordered by the courts - the type performed on Britney Spears - there is not a special screening used to detect Provigil.

The tests actually performed on Britney Spears (at least until last week) all came back negative, and she had been taking Provigil before that. Strange.

Meanwhile, Kevin Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has contacted TMZ to notify the celebrity news site that he will subpoena a story it posted late last week about Britney running a red light in her Mercedes.

Mark Vincent Kaplan wants the tape for a court appearance Wednesday.

The story, which ran Friday on TMZ, shows Britney - her kids in the back and the court-appointed monitor ducking in horror in the front - blowing through a red light at an extremely dangerous intersection on Thursday night.

A close look at Britney Spears photos from that incident shows her holding a phone up to her face seconds before running the light - as if sending a text message.
