Barbie's proportions are so unrealistic that if she were human she would not be able to walk upright.

That information comes from a PSA uploaded to Vimeo by Vianca Lugo that details the impossible body expectations toys are setting.

The captivating video states, "If Barbie were a real woman, she's have to walk on all fours due to her proportions."

It goes on to say that the world-famous doll would be "7'2 and weight 101 pounds" and that she would die from "malnutrition."

It's no secret that Barbie isn't the best example of an attainable appearance.

Last year, an artist did a rendering of Barbie with no makeup on, while another created a Barbie with the proportions of an average 19-year-old woman

Vianca Lugo's clip also reveals statistics about teenage steroid usage and diet prevalence. Watch it above and tell us what you think.

Whitney Thore, a blogger and radio producer, is out to prove that you can dance like a pro regardless of your size. It's an issue that's very personal to her.

Thorne was teaching at the Greensboro Dance Theatre by age 16, but quit dancing in college after she experienced inexplicable weight gain.

Unlike Rachel Frederickson, it wasn't just because Whitney let herself go.

"Unable to face my reflection, I failed out of dance class my first semester," Thore told The Huffington Post in an email, going on to explain what happened:

"By the time I had graduated college, been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, moved to Korea, and gained 200 pounds, I was finally able to dance socially."

Still, she "never dreamed I would take a class or perform publicly again."

But when Jared Pike, one of the hosts of the morning radio show Thore produces suggested that she make a "Fat Girl Dancing" video series, she agreed.

A hilarious parody of Cosmopolitan and other women's magazines, entitled "Average Women's Magazine Cover," is making the online rounds, and for good reason.

Created in 2010 by writer and illustrator Brendan McGinley, it resurfaced this week on Twitter, and if you've ever seen a real Cosmo cover, you'll appreciate it.

Right down to the font, the spoof nails the publication's layout and its obsession with splashing SEX on the cover as many times as humanly possible.

The only difference? The fine print on this one is much more honest:

Average Women's Magazine Cover

Features all-caps, bold headlines like "Overanalyzing" and "The Shame & Guilt Issue," McGinley takes a funny, not subtle swipe at actual publications.

NAKED. It may not apply at all, but they're required to use that word.

Turning to Cosmopolitan for advice on sex, relationships, body image and women's health (mental and physical)? A dubious proposition at best.

From its awesome Christina Hendricks subheading to teasers like "Lose 30 lbs Fast, Chop Off Your Leg!", it'll make you think twice about such magazines.

Check out some amusingly similar, legitimate covers below:

Former Jersey Shore star Snooki pulls no punches in her new book Baby Bumps about media coverage of celebrities who are pregnant and/or new parents.

  1. Yes, Snooki wrote a book and it's called that.
  2. She cites Kim Kardashian as an example.

Speaking about the coverage she received in 2012, she writes, "tabloid monitoring of how fast women lose the baby weight is practically a blood sport."

"Some women have been mocked cruelly for it," she adds.

“If you weren’t on the cover of In Touch Weekly in a bikini within two months of giving birth to talk about your salsa workout, you were a fat, lazy loser.”

An Australian personal trainer was fed up with misleading "Before and After" pictures used to sell programs and pills, so she set out to prove a point.

And prove it she did. Inspired by a similar project by personal trainer Andrew Dixon, Mel V. decided to make her own transformation in under 15 minutes.

Yes, minutes. Because with improved posture, tanning lotion, black bathing suit bottoms and a few clever photo tricks, that's all it took to look like this:

Before and After Weight Loss Pics

"Check out my transformation! It took me 15 minutes," Mel wrote on Instagram.

"Wanna know my secret?" She added, and went on to explain them in detail.

"Well firstly I ditched the phonewallet (fwallet) cause that *** is lame, swapped my bather bottoms to black (cause they're a size bigger and black is slimming)."

Next, she "smothered on some fake tan, clipped in my hair extensions, stood up a bit taller, sucked in my guts, popped my hip, threw in a skinny arm."

Jennifer Lawrence is universally beloved, or so we thought. Apparently she managed to make at least one enemy this year, a Joan Rivers is bashing her.

Not for the first time, either.

She tells the New York Post, "My New Year’s resolution is [ensuring] Jennifer Lawrence grows up and realizes how lucky she is and calms down.”

Oooooh.

  • Joan Rivers in Fur
  • Jennifer Lawrence Profile

Rivers is still smarting over Lawrence's comments this fall that shows like E!'s Fashion Police encourage people to judge others and incite divisiveness.

Jennifer Lawrence, 23, said that such programming instills "all the wrong values" and makes it seem "that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat."

Rivers, 80, initially responded on Twitter that Jen is being "arrogant and a hypocrite" for loving Fashion Police during awards season but bashing it now.

Plus-size models and modeling have gained a lot of traction in 2013, as they a purpose beyond marketing plus-size clothing to a growing market.

They also provide women with a more diverse range of bodies to look up to, which potentially improves self-confidence, body image and social norms.

So if we have plus-size models ... should plus-size Barbies be next? That's the question posed recently by Plus-Size-Modeling (dot) com on Facebook ...

Plus-Size Barbie Pic

The illustration of a plus-size Barbie doll actually comes from a contest on Worth1000.com, a site where artists compete in daily creative competitions.

The image, created by artist bakalia, won a contest called "Feeding Time 9."

But when re-posted last week by Plus-Size-Modeling (dot) com, the depiction of Barbie with a double chin and a curvier physique sparked debate.

Over 35,000 people have "liked" it, but many criticize it, asking whether society should be praising being overweight any more than being too skinny.

Maria Kang has yet to weigh in ... but we know where she stands.

The best thing about Kanye West is that he does and says so many ridiculous things that any tabloid report about the rapper almost always seems feasible.

That doesn't mean that they're true, however. In fact, most of them are not.

The latest hilarious rumor? That Kim Kardashian allegedly has a "glam squad" paid top dollar by Kanye West for the 24/7 primping of his baby mama.

Not the case, according to Gossip Cop, which debunked this one very quickly.

Why would Kanye interfere with the perfection of Kim Kardashian, anyway?

While he clearly has his opinions about fashion and style, and loves his girl to look good, he's also on record saying it doesn't matter what she wears.
