Talk about a tough act to follow.

Single father Jason Mesnick's starring turn on The Bachelor was already the reality show's best-rated in years before he chose Melissa Rycroft on the finale, then dumped her for runner-up Molly Malaney on the "After the Final Rose" special.

After the dust settled, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney resumed their normal lives and seem happy getting to know each other in their relationship, while Melissa Rycroft has become a sensation on a second ABC show, Dancing with the Stars.

The Bachelor is going to need a heck of an encore.

Seriously, how do you top that if you're ABC? Who should even star? No idea who the 14th star of The Bachelor will be when the show returns next season, but we put together a short list of folks we'd love to see follow in Jason's footsteps:

Barron Hilton. Rich and ready to get his $h!t started.

Adam Lambert. Forget handing out roses; the American Idol favorite will toss them from a stage as he serenades the ladies lucky enough to remain by his talented side.

Brody Jenner. Okay, so he's already seeing Jayde Nicole nude every night. Not a lot he can do to top that. But things happen, and if it were to go south between The Hills star and the Playmate of the Year, what better way to rebound?

Alex Rodriguez. Think of how many Bachelor records the Yankees star could shatter - manliest-looking babes ever to make the final two, most time preening before dates, trips to second base in hot tub, home runs in the fantasy suite, etc.

Chris Harrison. The Bachelor host-pimp is a great master of ceremonies, but he really needs to get in on some of the action, don't you think? Imagine this "After the Final Rose" stunner: he's been married for 15 years ... and is staying with his wife!

With Paris Hilton having been reduced to lapping up Lauren Conrad's sloppy seconds, it's time for another member of this esteemed family to step into the celebrity gossip spotlight.

Come on down, Barron Hilton!

The 19-year old drunk driver told Page Six this week that he wants to establish a music career.

"I want to be an international singer-songwriter,” Hilton said. “I’m sick of all the Hilton stuff, where all anyone cared about was whether I was doing coke in the bathroom or how many [bleeps] I was sleeping with. I’m done with partying and traveling. It’s time to get this [bleep] started."

Silly, Barron. You make it sound as though anyone has cared about anything you've ever done.

The youngest Hilton sibling also told the newspaper that he's developing a reality show with Viacom.

"It’s gonna be like The Hills, but real. A lot of that stuff is pre-setup or re-setup. This is gonna show the meetings, the production side, the recording side... I just want people to say, 'Wow, this song really moved me, or made me cry.'"

This story just made us cry. Does that count?

That trust fund brat Barron Hilton probably doesn't even pump his own gas. But he is being pumped for bad gas station behavior by some guy he hit at one.

A station employee says he was struck by Barron's Mercedes during the hotel heir's infamous DUI ride last year - the one that landed him the slammer.

Now he's suing over injuries he claims to have suffered. Fernando Mendoza Tellez is asking for unspecified damages, according to celeb news reports.

Barron Hilton, Paris Hilton and the terrible mother who "raised" them.

The useless little brother of Paris Hilton busted February 12, 2008, outside a Malibu gas station after he sideswiped a pickup truck on Pacific Coast Highway - and the other driver followed him to the gas station and called the cops.

The guy made Hilton sit on a bus-stop bench until authorities arrived. But before Barron could get out of the car, he allegedly plowed into Tellez, according to the complaint filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Eyewitnesses said Hilton's car hit an employee in the leg. Unfortunately, he couldn't sideswipe Paris in any sort of two-for-one deal while he was at it.

The younger brother of Paris Hilton would have been released sooner, but his family refused to pony up his bail money. That'll teach him!

Barron Hilton is a free man.

And the drunk driver has anyone but his sister to thank for it.

While Barron was released from jail last night around 5:50 p.m. PST, it wasn't due to the generosity or understanding of older sibling Paris Hilton:

She refused to pay his $20,000 bail.

Reportedly, the hypocritical Paris Hilton told Barron, "You're going to learn your lesson," while adding that she was "very upset and very disappointed in him" and letting him rot away in prison.

After all, Paris wasn't busted for DUI until she was 25, giving her the right to criticize 18-year old Barron Hilton.

In the end, Barron's friends had to hire a bail bondsman to spring their pal.

The apple doesn't fall far from the irresponsible, law-breaking tree in the Hilton family.

A few months after Paris Hilton was popped for drunk driving, her 18-year-old brother Barron Hilton has been arrested for the same crime. He was pulled over for DUI in Malibu... at 8:30 a.m. today. He must have had a lot of mimosas!

Police told TMZ that Barron was driving a black Mercedes on Pacific Coast Highway with a passenger when he was pulled over at a 76 gas station. His blood-alcohol content was .14, twice the legal limit.

Moreover, Barron allegedly struck a garage worker at the gas station. Fernando Pellez was not seriously hurt when Barron's black Mercedes bowled into him between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m., but he insisted on calling the cops.

"I was knocked to the ground," Pellez said. "The Mercedes lost control as it was turning into the gas station and Barron got out of the car and he was totally drunk and couldn't walk straight."

The younger Hilton was booked at the Lost Hills Sheriff's station, the same place Mel Gibson was taken. No cops were referred to as "sugar tits" this time, however.
