Eliot Spitzer, the disgraced former governor of New York State, is thinking about getting back into politics. Yeah, that's how bad his replacement is doing.

With Spitzer making a slow return to the public stage, his former mistress / call girl, Ashley Dupre, thinks she deserves a second chance too, dammit!

A second chance for attention, maybe.

Tired of being known as "woman who brought down the Governor," Dupre said "I didn’t call the tabloids, I didn’t blow the whistle and I didn’t save 'the dress.'"

Nice Monica Lewinsky reference there.

As for accusations she has been "'cashing in' on the scandal – wrong again."

She says she never sold photos of herself, posed nude, did any reality TV or sold any of her music in the wake of her career as a hooker being exposed.

This comment is:

1. Untrue, as her crappy songs were downloaded hundreds of thousands of times online once her name was released in the sex scandal
2. Misleading, as she certainly tried to get a reality TV show, only no one was interested, and gave a number of high-profile interviews

Still, Ashley Dupre says that being outed as a high-class ho has "closed far more doors than it ever opened" (fancy that) and that the real people trying to cash in are publishers, whom she dismisses as "worse than the tabloids."

She seems to imply that more than one has begged for a book deal about the “exciting life of a high-priced NYC escort,” but she took the high road.

Somehow we doubt it. But most of Ashley Dupre's rage is reserved for the women of New York City and beyond, whom she says "love to judge."

"I know many women who target guys with money and use them to get things," Dupre says. "They toy with them, flirt, go on dates, have sex and then drop hints about that new dress at the store down the street or being short on rent money."

Is what I did any more dishonest? Get real and get over yourself."

The anti-attention whore's interview ends, naturally, with a nice plug for a "Rough mix of a song I am working on that tells a little bit of my story."

Not that she's trying to cash in or anything. Heavens no.

Remember her? Ashley Dupre, a.k.a. Ashley Alexandra Dupre, a.k.a. Ashley Youmans, a.k.a. Ashley Rae Maika DiPietro, a.k.a. Kristen, turns 24 today.

What a ho.

The high-class prostitute (not an oxymoronic term at all) who banked $4,300 an hour to performs sex acts on former N.Y. State Governor Eliot Spitzer, hasn't been heard from in some time. She's probably trying to get her life together.

Or still trying to shop a book deal, reality show, Playboy spread, etc. For a time, Dupre was an even bigger attention whore than Heidi Montag. Although the latter is actually good at it. And the former was an actual whore.

Just saying.

She may not be charging elected officials $4,300 to bone her, then giving tear-jerking interviews with Diane Sawyer, but Ashley Dupre is still up for causing drama here and there in New York City, according to the city's newspapers.

The scene: the hooker-turned-famous-ex-hooker somehow landed in the front row of designer Yigal Azrouël’s Fall/Winter 2009 fashion show this week.

When Azrouël discovered the skank in her seat, he flipped and fired his PR person who placed her there. Turns out that PR flack is none other than Kelly Cutrone of People’s Revolution, best known as Whitney’s boss on The Hills.

Apparently the sex-selling singer and the PR individual know each other, admitted Kelly Cutrone, who also appeared on The City: “I didn’t invite her, but I wasn’t going to kick her out or turn her away... We know one another, we’re friends.”

Cutrone also insisted that such publicity would not just have been tolerated - it would have been warmly received by other fashion designers:

“If Ashley Dupre had shown up at Marc Jacobs’ show he would have been a hero,” she said. “It would have been cutting-edge - but Yigal and she weren’t the best fit.”

Ashley Dupre is certainly the winner in the Eliot Spitzer sex scandal.

While Spitz had to step down as Governor of New York, and now likely spends his days holed up at home getting furniture thrown at him by his wife, Ash has garnered more publicity and business opportunities than she can handle.

The latest: a possible book deal. Natalie Dylan, take notes. Once you auction off that v-card, there's a market for the first-person account of how it went down!

Ashley Dupre was recently seen leaving the offices of HarperCollins in N.Y. City, the New York Post reports, carrying a copy of the HarperCollins book The Secret Currency of Love: the Unabashed Truth About Women, Money, and Relationships.

Is the Jersey girl turned escort now becoming a media whore? Sorry. But in all seriousness, she is allegedly shopping her memoir with the book publisher.

Can a retired prostitute ever catch a break?

Ashley Dupre has been named as "other woman" in a $1.5 million suit filed by a model who says her lawyer boyfriend dumped her for the raven-haired hooker.

In a lawsuit filed in Suffolk County Supreme Court, K.T. Mary Dunphy says that former fiancé, Robert Oppenheimer Jr., cheated with Dupre while Dunphy was pregnant in the summer of 2007, according to the New York Daily News.

Dunphy said she walked in on him having sex with Dupre at his NYC apartment.

Dupre denied knowing Oppenheimer, but Mary Dunphy says he referred to her by name. She also said she recognized Dupre's tattoos in photos after the Eliot Spitzer scandal, after which the Governor of New York State resigned his office.

Ashley Dupre assumes a familiar position (above). She is also in the familiar position of being implicated in a lawsuit after Mary Dunphy's latest allegations.

Dunphy is charging Oppenheimer with "emotional distress" and said she got to know him in 2004 through The Millionaire's Club, an online matchmaking service.

Within months, Oppenheimer invited her to move in to his home in Southampton, N.Y. But Dunphy said she soon noticed he "was having 'mood swings,'" and later discovered he was meeting other women at another Southampton home.

Oppenheimer later told Mary Dunphy he "had a serious cocaine habit and was consorting with prostitutes," her recent complaint says.

Around that time, Dunphy told The Daily News, she discovered Oppenheimer was on a romantic vacation in Aruba with Ashley Dupre.

Dunphy is claiming that her relationship deteriorated after she slipped on a wet floor at a Southampton house where she'd been swimming. "I injured my foot, and my breast implants ruptured," she told The Daily News.

The country's most famous "escort" (she hates the term prostitute) says she's a real straight arrow now. Her next step is uncertain, but there's been talk of Ashley Dupre getting her own reality show. What a great country this is.

In an interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC's 20/20, the hooker who serviced New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer opened up about the scandal that ended his career and made her a celebrity. She dispensed many deep thoughts such as the one above.

It's all part of her ongoing publicity tour, as "that girl" gives interviews for the first time since the scandal broke in February. While the 20/20 piece isn't that interesting, Ashley Dupre certainly does appear sincere in the emotions she expresses.

With her first TV interview set for Friday, Ashley Alexandra Dupre also sat down with People, telling the celebrity news magazine that she's "a normal girl."

"Everyone just knows me as 'that girl,' but I'm not just 'that girl,'" the 23-year-old former hooker of New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer and many others says in the new issue of the magazine. "I have a lot of depth, a lot of layers."

Enduring the scrutiny that included seeing her photos splashed on front pages "has been really hard," the New Jersey native explains. "But I'm a survivor."

Her descent into tabloid mayhem began the night of February 13, 2008, when Ashley Dupre - who worked as a high-end escort to help pay the bills on and off since 2004 - met a client who turned out to be the Governor of New York State.

She claims she had no idea who the man was that night. What she does recall is that "Client 9," as Spitzer was reportedly known at her escort service, was polite.

"Some guys want to have conversations, to get to know each other. With him, it clearly was not like that. It was more a transaction. Strictly business," says Ashley Dupre.

Casually dressed and with no entourage, Spitzer didn't strike her as someone important. Besides, "I was there for a purpose – not to wonder who [he] could be."

She didn't find out who he was until March, just days after learning she was mixed up in some sort of FBI investigation, when saw Spitzer apologizing on TV.

"It was surreal," Ashley Dupre said. "I felt like I was sinking."

Nine months after being thrust into the limelight for allowing former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer to do some serious thrusting of his own (if you know what we're talkin' about), Ashley Alexandra Dupre is granting her first prime-time interview.

Diane Sawyer sat down with Dupre for a taping of 20/20, which also featured a Britney Spears special this fall. That ABC journalism shark is been jumped hard core.

On the show, which will air Friday night at 10 p.m., Ashley Dupre will reveal to America how a normal, "upper middle-class, girl next door got into the profession and the psychological journey she continues to experience."

Eliot Spitzer resigned as Governor of New York Sate March 12 after it was disclosed he had used Emperors Club VIP and was snared by wiretapping laws he passed.

Ashley Dupre worked for the escort service, and has since become somewhat of a sensation, selling a lot of bad music online and even generating reality show talks.

On Thursday, federal prosecutors said they wouldn't bring criminal charges against Spitzer, marking the end of the saga. Dupre was not charged with a crime.
