No offense. But when your girlfriend's previous beau was the ultimate loser - con-man Raffaello Follieri - anyone's gonna look great by comparison.
"At this point I would just like him to be law abiding," Anne Hathaway joked about her dating criteria to Ellen DeGeneres, who offered to help out.
"I'm actually really good at setting people up," DeGeneres told the gorgeous Bride Wars star. "If you need some one, I will find you a boyfriend."
Hathaway says her breakup with Follieri - which happened right before his arrest and sentence - taught her "to have a sense of humor about everything."
"I'm sobbing, and I look up and I start laughing and said, 'This is going to make a great opening monologue on SNL.' So then, two weeks later I got the call that I was going to be on the show. I was like, 'You know what, I'm going to get through it. I'm going to laugh first and nobody is going to be able to laugh at me, and eventually it will just be something that happened to me' and now it is. I'm so thrilled."
Says DeGeneres: "That’s what you should get from any experience - something you learn from it, grow and appreciate it and never regret it."
"And, never do it again!" adds Hathaway.

In January's issue of Vogue, Anne Hathaway goes shopping in London to replace all the clothes she associates with her ex Raffaello Follieri.
Why all the bad memories? Perhaps because the jackass is now serving four years in prison for conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering.
After trying on a vintage Diane von Furstenberg sleeveless wrap dress, the 26-year-old actress - who has been cozying up to actor Adam Shulman - remarks, "I can go on a date in this. Oh, my God. That's such a weird thought!"
Overall, Anne Hathaway doesn't dish much about Raffaello Follieri: "It wasn't a huge, dramatic breakup: We were in the process of winding down when he was arrested."
Of her split with Follieri, the Rachel Getting Married star adds, "I don't talk about this, except when I'm asked. It's not a part of my life anymore. It's a complicated situation that has the ability to define me in ways I am not comfortable with."

Just five months after splitting from her imprisoned ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, Anne Hathaway's friends worried she's headed for more heartbreak.
Their reason for concern: rebounding. The 26-year-old Rachel Getting Married star revealed last month she's found love again with actor Adam Shulman.
Anne Hathaway has said of her relatively unknown new flame:
"You know when you don't know someone very well - you just meet them and you're like, 'Wow, you really have it going on'?"
But according to a source at the New York Post, the 27-year-old Adam Shulman could be the wrong man at the wrong time for the actress, adding:
"Adam is known as an opportunist. When he was attending Brown (University), he went after all the heiresses. It's like Anne is addicted to losers."
Ouch! At least the bar is set pretty low for him after Follieri's sentence for conspiracy and fraud. A spokesperson for Shulman declined comment.
She used to date Raffaello Follieri, until a federal prison sentence for fraud put an end to that blissful union of love, $37,000-a-month rent and hummers at sea.
Now she's supposedly with Adam Shulman. Whoever that is.
Anne Hathaway turns 26 today, which is remarkable as it seems like she's been around forever. Maybe it's just that the New York City native's rare combination of talent and classic beauty make every day so much more memorable.
