Of all the victims that handsome Italian-American businessman Raffaello Follieri allegedly duped, actress Anne Hathaway fell the hardest.

The stunningly beautiful and talented Hathaway, 25, thought she had found her prince charming in the 30-year-old real estate magnate.

What she found instead was a slimy white-collar criminal.

Even as some friends say they warned Anne about Raffaello Follieri, she stuck by him for months as allegations of his wrongdoing swirled.

In April, he bounced a check … for $215,000. In May, Follieri’s charity - on which Anne once served on the board - came under investigation by the New York State attorney general’s office for tax irregularities.

That was the last straw for Anne Hathaway, and not a moment too soon.

Just last week, Follieri was arrested on charges of fraud and conspiracy, as well as money laundering. On June 24, he was branded a “con man” in court by the FBI and prosecutors, accused him of bilking investors of millions.

The star of The Apprentice recently told Access Hollywood that it was extremely “disloyal” of Anne Hathaway to leave Raffaello Follieri. Seriously.

“She hasn’t remained very loyal to him, has she? So when he had plenty of money, she liked him,” Trump said. “But after that, not as good, right?”

Wednesday, multiple celebrity gossip sources report that Anne Hathaway dumped her longtime beau, Italian businessman Raffaello Follieri.

The Daily Mail (U.K.) had reported specifically that Hathaway feared that a string of Raffaello Follieri legal woes could hurt her career.

Follieri is under investigation by the New York State Attorney General’s office for failing to file tax-disclosure forms for his charity.

The 25-year-old star ended her four year relationship with the possibly criminal Italian-American businessman and real estate magnate, 29.

This valid question from one of our site’s senior writers is regarding the great Raffaello Follieri, the actress’ possible white-collar-criminal beau.

New York State Attorney General Andrew Andrew Cuomo is investigating a children’s charity operated by Follieri, the New York Post reports.

In recent weeks, Cuomo’s investigators served subpoenas seeking financial documents from the Follieri Foundation - headed by Raffaello Follieri, 29, a real estate magnate and longtime boyfriend of Hathaway.

The AG’s office refused to reveal why it was eyeing the charity, but the probe came after Cuomo’s office was asked whether it was aware that the foundation might have failed to file requisite tax-disclosure forms.

A check of an online database that collects “990″ IRS forms showed that the Follieri Foundation is required to file the form, yet has never done so.

Anne Hathaway served on the foundation’s board until at least last year, when she traveled to Central America along with Raffaello Follieri - who has already been arrested in April for an unrelated shady business deal - for a charity program.

“She was on the board, but is no longer,” Hathaway’s spokesman said. “I don’t remember exactly when she ceased to be a board member.”

Asked if Anne Hathaway - who stars as Agent 99 in the new movie Get Smart, knew about the probe, the spokesman did not comment.

The boy-toy of Hollywood glamor girl Anne Hathaway, Raffaello Follieri, is entangled in another lawsuit, according to the New York Post.

This is potentially worse than those rather sexual photos in which Anne Hathaway apparently went to town on Raffaello Follieri while on a yacht.

According to the N.Y. Post, the D.C.-based media firm the Carmen Group is suing Follieri for $300,000, reports the Legal Times, after the Italian real estate mogul hired the company to handle his public relations in the wake of a suit brought against him by L.A.-based Yucaipa Companies in May.

The Carmen Group claims the boyfriend of Anne Hathaway never paid a $25,000 per month fee. Follieri’s rep denied the accusation, stating “The Carmen Group worked with the Follieri Group for one month and were paid for one month.”

Either way, it looks like Raffaello Follieri is up to no good… and we’re not just talking about getting serviced by Anne Hathaway on board a ship this time.

But the awesome actress who played her, Anne Hathaway, is not about to get caught up in trying to be thinner.

“Obsessing about weight is a big old waste of time,” the 24-year-old Anne tells the British edition of Glamour in its April issue.

“It’s completely understandable as a teenager to fret about your body,” she said. “It’s scary because you don’t know how it’s going to wind up. But I’m not a teenager any more; my body’s chosen its shape. I’d rather be strong than skinny for most roles.”

We’d say we hope that Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton are reading this, but it’s hard to peruse the Internet when your head’s inside a toilet.

For her part, Hathaway, who has battled depression in the past, admits she’s not a size zero and that she’s gotten flak for it from directors. But it doesn’t phase her.

“‘I’ve had directors say to me, ‘You’re the best actress for the role, but you’ve put on weight recently.’ If people can’t understand you’ve put on five pounds, I don’t want to deal with them.”

“My entire career’s been dependent on my ability to look unattractive,” she says.
