Amanda Beard has proven that she's as fast on land as she is in water.

The seven-time Olympic medalist swimmer evaded paparazzi often enough in the last few weeks to get knocked up and married with almost no one finding out.

Until now.

Beard told People that she's now married to photographer Sacha Brown, whose child she's been carrying for almost 6 months now.

"It was absolutely perfect," Beard said of her May 1 wedding on Wakatobi, an archipelago in the Banda Sea off southeastern Indonesia. "It was stress-free, and super low-key."

The couple exchanged vows in a sunset ceremony on a private beach. They also followed local custom, as bride and groom adhered to Muslim tradition and covered most of their bodies for the event.

Beard donned a black, long-sleeved tunic, a sarong and a white veil; while Brown also wore a sarong a hat and a sword.

Unlike everyone else in the world, Sacha Brown won't need to search the Internet to find Amanda Beard nude.

He can just roll over in bed.

The Olympic swimmer admitted to Us Weekly that she and the professional photographer are engaged.

"We got engaged on Christmas day," Beard said. "It was really simple. We decided to do Christmas by ourselves in our house in Tuscon. He had a little Tiffany's box, and it was hidden in this Santa statue that we had - his little sack - and it was perfect."

A small wedding is planned for April.

Remember those rumors about Michael Phelps seeing Amanda Beard naked earlier this year, when everyone was wondering who he was dating?

No? Was that just us?

Well, they weren't true in case. The two Olympians were never an item. But Amanda Beard is quick to defend her friend Phelps just the same as he's gotten criticized for becoming a fixture in Las Vegas and dating Caroline Pal.

Beard admits that it's "definitely weird" to see Michael Phelps becoming a celebrity gossip mainstay, but she thinks he should be cut some slack.

Pre-Caz, Michael Phelps did some platonic palling around with Amanda Beard.

"A swimmer's life is extremely boring," Beard lamented to E! Online at yesterday evening's opening of the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.

"We swim and we're in the pool all day long. I know he trains his butt off, so I know it feels good for him to let loose and have a drink - and to have ladies underneath his arms. It's good for him."

Watch out, Caz Pal. She said ladies - plural!

Amanda Beard is confident Michael will rein it in once he starts training again: "He has a really, really, really intense coach who's very strict."

With rumors swirling about these Olympians' activities out of the pool, Beard joked around with 93.7 KRQ Tucson's Johnjay and Rich in the Morning yesterday. Asked to classify her relationship with Phelps, Beard said:

"I am not dating Michael Phelps," adding, "Come on, I have really good taste."

Now, though, Beard is catching flak for her flippancy. She's been forced to clarify her remarks to a sensitive public:

"Everyone who knows me knows I can be a jokester, but I guess I took it too far," the four-time Olympian said. "I never meant to say anything rude about Michael. I am 100-percent sorry for what I said. I take full responsibility for it."

With that out of the way, let us know who you'd sleep with first: Michael Phelps or Mark Spitz?

Americans that tune in to the Olympics this month won't see Amanda Beard swimming for her country. The beautiful athlete failed to quality in any events.

But fans can still see Beard playing a prominent role in Beiing, as her new, naked ad for PETA debuts there today.

“Seeing animals slaughtered to be worn as fashion is awful to me, so I’m definitely against wearing fur … I’d much rather go naked than ever put a dead animal on my body,” it reads.

You can now see Amanda Beard nude in Playboy and in defense of animals.

Considering the example Beard set for other athletes to bare in all in Playboy - such as Ashley Harkleroad - does this mean we'll see other sports stars come out against fur in the near future?

Sacha Brown is one lucky, random celebrity boyfriend.
