Adnan Ghalib: Jailed!

Britney Spears' ex-boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, was sentenced today to 45 days in county jail after he pleaded no contest to leaving the scene of an accident.

During said accident, he hit a process server with his car and took off. The victim was attempting to subpoena Adnan in a Spears restraining order case.

He was told to stay away from Britney until 2012, incidentally. In the hit and run case, at least Adnan Ghalib gets credit for one day already served. Woo!

Ghalib will be placed on formal probation for 36 months, has to complete 52 weeks of anger management classes and 45 days of Caltrans (hard labor).

Adnan: What a Tool

Adnan Ghalib is finally headed where he belongs.

The celebrity gossip photographer was initially charged with three felonies after the incident: assault with a deadly weapon, battery and hit-and-run.

As part of his plea deal, the first two were dropped.

He still faces outstanding warrants for enabling Britney Spears during her dark period and for dressing like an enormous douche. Just kidding. Kind of.

About the second part. Dude was totally an enabler.

Adnan Ghalib to Stand Trial For Ramming Dude with Car

One of the shadiest of Britney Spears' many former boyfriends will stand trial on felony assault with a deadly weapon, battery and hit-and-run charges.

A judge decided there is indeed enough evidence to prosecute Adnan at a preliminary hearing yesterday, so off to trial the case will go. Sucks to be him.

The alleged victim - oddly named Ram Moskowitz - testified at the hearing about how the seedy celebrity gossip photographer struck him with a car.

The incident took place as Ram tried serving Adnan with legal papers in a restraining order case with Britney Spears (he must stay away for three years).

Adnan Ghalib did not testify at the hearing yesterday.

He will be arraigned on July 23. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to seven years in prison. Maybe he and Sam Lutfi can share a cell at some point.

Sam Lutfi Says Britney Spears Ruined His Life; Plans to Call Adnan Ghalib as "Character" Witness

By cutting him off, that is.

Sam Lutfi has filed legal papers in his defamation lawsuit against Britney Spears and her parents, Jamie and Lynn, claiming they have ruined "his life."

Lynne Spears' book, Through The Storm, about her famous daughter is a pack of lies, Sam Lutfi says, especially the part in which she says Sam told Lynne he was secretly grinding up pills and putting them in Britney Spears' food in 2007.

As a result of the book, "I am constantly in fear for my life," Sam Lutfi says in his lawsuit, not embellishing at all. Does anyone care about him in the least?

He says he was "harassed and cajoled by the public." Does that mean us? If so, sorry Sam. We wouldn't harass you if you weren't sponging off our girl.

Also, wasn't Sam "cajoled" long before Lynne's book was published? Whatever.

Evil Lurks Behind Her

THE LEECH: Sam Lutfi lurks behind Britney in this file photo from early 2008, around the time two breakdowns landed her in the hospital. [Photos: Fame Pictures]

Lutfi trotted out his own cast of character witnesses in the new legal docs - notably the infamous Adnan Ghalib - currently being prosecuted for felony battery.

Adnan wrote a declaration, claiming that Lynne Spears' assertions that Sam was effectively holding Britney Spears hostage during her dark times were false.

Call us crazy, and we are by no means legal experts, but if Adnan Ghalib is on your character witness list, you might as well throw in the towel now.

Britney Spears' Lawyers Still After Sam Lutfi

Sam Lutfi is learning a hard lesson:

You do not f*%k with the conservatorship!

The former enabler and quote-unquote manager of Britney Spears has been battling her legal team since being banished from her life – and losing, hard.

First, he was slapped with a three-year restraining order last month. Now, his wallet may be taking a hit next as Britney's attorneys go for the jugular.

Lawyers for the singer asked a Los Angeles court Friday to order Sam Lutfi to pay $123,142 to cover her legal fees for the restraining order battle.

WHAT A LEECH: Sam Lutfi stayed close to his meal ticket before her father and his team of high-powered attorneys made sure he legally couldn't any longer.

In addition, her lawyers are seeking $129,922 from Jon Eardley, an attorney who has challenged Jamie Spears' control over his daughter. Eardley claimed Britney contacted him first, which Lutfi also maintained in his restraining order case.

The attorneys want another $72,292 from her ex-boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, too. Both Eardley and Ghalib were also ordered to stay away from the pop star.

A judge has yet to sign off on the request, but we suspect it will happen soon.

You do not mess with the Bank of Britney Spears and its team of lawyers.

Adnan Ghalib, Sam Lutfi Face Further Legal Woes

While Britney Spears is busy getting accosted by drunk fans on her Circus tour, a couple of her former clowns are starring in their own shows in L.A.

Spears' ex-manager Sam Lutfi and former boyfriend Adnan Ghalib appeared in separate hearings yesterday. Both shady hangers-on have already been banned from further contact with their former meal ticket through at least 2012.

Now the courts are sorting through the legal fallout.

Sam Lutfi fared considerably better than Adnan Ghalib, as a Superior Court judge set a trial date of March 8, 2010, for the former manager's lawsuit claiming defamation and unpaid fees against Spears and her parents, Jamie and Lynne.

Lawyers for both Lutfi and Jamie and Lynne Spears say they will spend the next 10 months attempting to resolve the case outside of court.

But in case that doesn't work out, they have a game plan. An attorney for Jamie Spears said that a countersuit may be filed against Lutfi.

Lynne Spears' attorney, meanwhile, said that he will likely seek to dismiss the portion of Sam Lutfi's lawsuit that's directed against her.

The grounds for that claim? That his allegation of defamation based on her new memoir, Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, is actually an infringement on Lynne Spears' right to free speech.

Particularly, her right to freely criticize whomever she chooses, especially when they play as large a part as Lutfi appeared to in the downfall of her daughter.

The trial date comes just days after Lutfi filed an appeal against a judge's extension of the restraining order obtained against him by the Spears family.

Report: Britney Spears Conspired with Sam Lutfi, Lawyers to End Conservatorship's Reign

A Los Angeles courtroom heard testimony yesterday on whether or not to extend the restraining orders barring her former manager and sidekick Sam Lutfi and other past hangers-on from having contacts with troubled star Britney Spears.

Attorney John Anderson took the stand and told Superior Court Commissioner Aviva K. Bobb that he was asked to represent the pop star in a battle to free her from the conservatorship controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.

"A person who purported to be Sam Lutfi told me that all of Britney Spears' phone rights were cut off," he said, adding that he was also told that the mother of two was under tight control by her father and virtually "in prison."

John Anderson - who may or may not be the recipient of the leaked voicemail circulating this week - testified that he drew up papers to be retained as counsel and in turn received copies back allegedly signed by Britney Spears herself.

He said he was made aware that another court-appointed attorney had already been assigned to Spears, but was told the singer was "not confident" in the other lawyer's abilities and wanted to hire a new representative in the courtroom.

CAGED BRITNEY: Does an imprisoned Britney Spears want to overthrow her dad's reign - and should she be able to, or is it the only thing keeping her life on track?

Anderson did contact the attorneys representing Spears' conservatorship, who dissuaded him from attempting to further pursue working for the star.

Instead, he voluntarily ended his involvement in the Spears legal debacle on January 28, after learning Jamie Spears and the conservatorship were getting restraining orders against Lutfi, former Britney beau Adnan Ghalib and Jon Eardley.

The restraining orders were obtained January 30, after Jamie Spears said in court that he had evidence the trio was trying to deliberately undermine the conservatorship, and he labeled ostensible mastermind Lutfi a "predator."

But yesterday, Sam Lutfi's sister, Christina, testified that she answered her brother's phone one time when Britney was calling to ask Sam to find her a new lawyer.

Britney said "they" wouldn't let her talk on the phone, Christina Lutfi says, admitting that she was the one who slipped her a prepaid phone on behalf of her brother and Ghalib at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills January 16.

Adnan Ghalib Barred From Seeing Britney Spears For Three Years; Sam Lutfi to Stay Away Until April 1

A restraining order against Britney Spears ex-boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, was made permanent for three years, a judge ruled at a Wednesday hearing.

At the same time, the temporary restraining against her former manager and possibly the shadiest person ever, Sam Lutfi, was extended until April 1.

Britney's father, Jamie Spears, who is the conservator of her estate, and their various attorneys have been seeking a permanent restraining order against Lutfi and Ghalib, alleging that they have tried to interfere with the conservatorship.

The singer's father has been in control over her personal, medical and financial affairs, as mandated by the court, since Britney's meltdowns of early 2008, and is largely credited with the resuscitation of her declining career and life in general.

BAD SEEDS: Britney Spears and her former enablers.

The hearing this afternoon was held so the judge could determine whether to uphold the  restraining order, filed by Britney's father, against Sam and Adnan.

Jamie Spears told the court that Britney made secret calls to Adnan in February on a pre-paid cellphone she somehow obtained - and was far from pleased.

Adnan's restraining order now extends three years, end of discussion. On April 1, the judge will hear from witnesses in the ongoing case against Sam Lutfi.

Celebrity gossip photographer Adnan, who was dating Britney Spears for a few months at the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008, was a no show at today's hearing, so a judge green lighted the permanent injunction against him.

We'll see if he abides by it.

Adnan Ghalib Turns Himself In, Pleads Not Guilty

Less than 24 hours after a warrant for his arrest was issued, Adnan Ghalib has turned himself. Charged with three felonies, he went to court and pled not guilty.

Ghalib allegedly struck a process server - who was attempting to hand him a subpoena to appear in the Britney Spears restraining order case - with his Mercedes.

The L.A. County D.A. has charged Ghalib with felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony battery and felony hit and run. He is free after posting $110,000 bail.

Lawyers for Britney Spears went to L.A. Superior Court January 20 to get temporary restraining orders against Ghalib and her former manager, Sam Lutfi.

Jamie Spears, who serves as his daughter's conservator, says Lutfi and Ghalib were sending threatening text messages and trying to take control of Britney.

There was also a prepaid phone one of the two is said to have given her. Papa Jamie went ballistic when he overheard Britney communicating with Adnan.

Earlier this month, the LAPD confirmed that a report was filed on Ghalib alleging he committed assault with a deadly weapon - his Mercedes - February 11.

Adnan Ghalib Charged with Three Felonies; Warrant Issued

Adnan Ghalib, celebrity gossip photographer and now-infamous ex-boyfriend of Britney Spears, has been charged with three felonies for allegedly smashing his car into a process server who tried to subpoena him earlier this month.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

The L.A. County District Attorney has charged Adnan Ghalib with assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and hit and run - all three are felony offenses.

Ghalib allegedly hit a man with his car in an alley on February 11. The man was reportedly trying to serve Adnan with legal papers on behalf of Britney Spears - presumably in the case involving her father and his conservatorship.

Earlier this week, Jamie Spears testified that Adnan had been talking to Britney on a pre-paid cellphone in violation of the restraining order against him.

One law enforcement source says Adnan Ghalib allegedly hit the dude, who landed on the hood, then continued driving. The server proceeded to jump onto the hood of Ghalib's Mercedes to avoid being pinned against a trash truck.

Cops and paramedics were called.

The victim apparently broke his wrist and suffered cuts and bruises. Prosecutors are asking for bail of $110,000, and if convicted, Ghalib could get seven years in prison.

He has yet to be taken into custody. Stay tuned ...

Britney Spears Secretly Calls Adnan Ghalib on Pre-Paid Phone; Jamie Spears Goes Ballistic

A hearing yesterday afternoon in the Britney Spears restraining order case against Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib revealed some interesting information.

Jamie Spears, father of the singer, took the stand to explain that at some point recently, Britney somehow got her hands on a pre-paid cell phone.

This caused Jamie fits because as her conservator, he has been strictly monitoring the phones she's able to use and the calls she's making.

The family nanny overheard Britney talking to Adnan Ghalib on a pre-paid phone in the wee hours of the morning one day recently, however.

It appears Jamie Spears believes Sam and/or Adnan got her the phone in an attempt to turn her against Jamie and sabotage the conservatorship.

Jamie was named the conservator of Britney's financial, personal and medical affairs last year after a disastrous stretch that saw her life spiral out of control.

Adnan and Sam played roles in that, to put it mildly.

If Sam Lutfi did have any contact with Britney, as is alleged, he would have violated a court order to stay the hell away from the recovering pop star. He would likely face serious legal consequences if found to be in violation.
