As the old saying goes, it ain't an awards show if Taylor Swift ain't dancing in the front row.

By that measure, the 2014 Academy of Country Music Awards was totes an awards show.

The 24-year-old didn't hold back Sunday night when Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum performed "Wagon Wheel" live on stage in Las Vegas.

Does she ever hold back? Would she know how?

Taylor Swift Dancing at ACMs

After some tame performances earlier in the evening, Swift finally was able to let loose, busting a move, clapping, shaking her hips and dancing like only she can.

The people sitting next to her? Not as into it.

Taylor flailed, grooved, bobbed and weaved like it was her job in a crop top and black skirt with thigh-high slit. It all made for quite a visual, as expected.

In addition to Best Audience Member Dance Moves, Swift won Video of the Year with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban for their song "Highway Don't Care."

Ouch. Blake Shelton zinged Britney Spears hard at last night's Academy of Country Music Awards during his monologue as co-host with Luke Bryan.

"If you don't like live music, then you need to go down the block and see Britney Spears," he said, referring to the pop star's well-documented lip-syncing.

Britney's residency at Planet Hollywood takes place a few casinos down.

Surprisingly, cameras did not cut away to Britney's sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, who was in the audience (and is trying to make her own way in country music).

While Shelton and Bryan had plenty more where that came from, they had nothing but props for Carrie Underwood's maligned performance in Sound of Music.

The only joke that resulted from that came at Shelton's expense.

"Thanks to Carrie, country stars everywhere can be in Broadway musicals," Bryan said, turning to Shelton, "You and Miranda would be perfect for Beauty and the Beast."

Speaking of beauty, the red carpet was full of it at last night's Las Vegas event. Check out our Academy of Country Music Awards fashion gallery below!

But not nearly as worthy as what went down prior to the event, as everyone from Taylor Swift to LL Cool J walked the red carpet in various dresses, blouses and suits.

Taylor Swift isn't afraid to make fun of herself in an amusing new "For Your Consideration" video for the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMs).

The clip begins as the singer's boss Scott realizes that the duo have yet to make the important teaser to generate votes for the upcoming awards show ...

The 24-year-old country superstar then receives the important phone call addressing this monumental issue (and her ringtone for him is awesome).

"I'm actually in the middle of something right now, that's actually pretty pressing," she says. "But, can you hold on one second? Do you have a minute?"

Taylor important tasks include painting her nails, doling out relationship wisdom to a pal and gushing over the "prettiest kitty in the world," Meredith.

No word if Swift was talking about Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber when she was dishing romance advice, but there's no doubt her true love is Mer.

Miranda Lambert didn't just earn the Female Vocalist of the Year at last night's Academy of Country Music Awards.

She earned a special place in our hearts for an emotional, humble speech in which the superstar said Carrie Underwood "damn well" deserved the honor instead.

"Last night, a huge dream of mine came true," Lambert added while choking back tears. "I went from being a little girl singing in a hairbrush to watching Shania Twain with Faith Hill and Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. I cried all night because I’ll never not be a fan of those beautiful women."

It was quite a moment. Relive it below:

The Academy of Country Music Awards were taken over by a pair of American Idol champions last night.

As previously posted, a very blonde Kelly Clarkson performed "Don't Rush" at the annual event, while twice-nominated Carrie Underwood also took to the CBS stage.

Surprisingly, Underwood did not win for either Female Vocalist of the Year or Album of the Year, but she didn't leave viewers disappointed. Come on... does she ever?!?
