Sheryl Crow Rocks an Eye Patch
Despite appearances, Sheryl Crow was NOT channeling a pirate with this interesting Instagram image.
The singer posted on Twitter, "So this is what happens when you play tennis with your kids... Someone has a good forehand! #mommyinjury"
We're in the dark as to the exact nature of the injury but it seems likely a flying tennis ball, and not direct contact with a racket, caused enough damage to necessitate covering the eye with a patch.
Crow, 51, lives on a 154-acre farm outside Nashville, Tennessee with her two adopted sons, Wyatt, 6, and Levi, 3.
She is slated to release a country album, 'Feels Like Home,' on Sept. 10, 2013. Brad Paisley reportedly provided some production assistance.
The lead single, 'Easy,' dropped in March and became Sheryl's first solo country single since her 2003 hit 'The First Cut is the Deepest.'
Sheryl broke off her engagement with Lance Armstrong in early 2006. Immediately after the split she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent surgery and radiation therapy. She was later diagnosed with a meningioma in Nov. 2011, a brain tumor that was benign.
We've included a photo of Sheryl and her oldest son -- an image captured two years ago.
