Celebrity Homes: Michael Jordan's New House in North Carolina
Michael Jordan has returned to his roots and purchased a new house in Cornelius, North Carolina.
Jordan, a majority owner of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, spent most of his childhood in North Carolina, and played college ball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. His new home, located on Lake Norman, is just 22 miles from where the Bobcats play.
Jordan, who just celebrated his 50th birthday, got a great deal on the 12,310 square foot lakefront home, snapping it up for $2.8 million. The home was originally listed for $3.99 million in 2011, before being foreclosed on in August 2012. It was later relisted for $3.49 million.
Built in 1993, the 6 bedroom, 8 bath home sits on the seventh hole of the gated and private Peninsula Golf Club, and features "stunning panoramic lake views from almost every room," as well as a pool, spa, entertainment area, gym, game room dance floor, sauna, multi-level patio and private dock.
