Oprah 'Satisfied' With Lance Armstrong Interview: Sneak Peek VIDEO
Lance Armstrong will appear in the first of a two-part Oprah interview on OWN Thursday evening to admit to his doping sins. By no small coincide, the International Olympic Committee picked this date to strip the disgraced athlete of his 2000 Sydney Games bronze medal.
In October the International Cycling Union wiped out all of Armstrong's Tour de France titles and demanded their medals back.
In the case of the IOC, spokesman Mark Adams said this morning, "We have written to Armstrong asking him to return the medal and have informed the U.S. Olympic Committee."
The decision was made "in principle" at a meeting of the IOC executive board in December. The decision came after confirmation from the International Cycling Union that Armstrong would not file an appeal over the agency ruling.
In a CBS interview conducted with Oprah after her sit down with Armstrong, she said, "I would say that he did not come clean in the manner that I expected... I walked into the room with 112 questions and in a 2-1/2 hour interview I feel that he answered those questions in a way that left me satisfied. He certainly met the moment."
