Brett Favre Gently Slapped by NFL and Fined $50K
Brett Favre escapes relatively unscathed in sexting scandal ...
Brett Favre got off easy with the NFL over allegations of inappropriate messages and lewd photos. After months of investigation and much angst, Roger Goddell determined that the only thing the veteran quarterback was guilty of was "failure to cooperate."
The league indicated their sole focus was on whether Favre violated workplace conduct policy, not to "make judgements about the appropriateness of personal relationships. The forensic analysis could not establish that Favre sent the objectionable photographs to Sterger."
As might be expected, Sterger's attorney had something to say on the ruling beginning with the fact that there was ample evidence to connect the photos to Favre. Joseph Conway said: "It clearly shows that an NFL star player was given preferential treatment and tells all other players that failure to cooperate may cost you some money but will not result in other punishment."
Conway continued: "Additionally, today's decision is an affront to all females and shows once again that, despite tough talk, the NFL remains the good old boy's league."
The folks at ESPN did the math breakdown to determine how long Brett had to work for the $50K he was fined. Check it out after the jump - it's a real eye opener!
