Actor Corey Haim Found Dead (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
"The Lost Boys" star Corey Haim, 38, died this morning of an apparent overdose of prescription medications. The Canadian actor reportedly collapsed in a bathroom and was discovered unresponsive by his mother Judy, who telephoned 911 at 12:53 a.m. from his Southern California apartment. He was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. at a Burbank hospital.
Police officers were notified of the death by medical personnel at Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center at 4 a.m. this morning. LAPD has opened a death investigation that will include an autopsy and toxicology testing according to Coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie. Police reportedly recovered four prescription bottles near where Haim collapsed.
Haim appeared in 12 movies between 1984-1991 and was best known for his role in "The Lost Boys". Others included "First Born", "Secret Admirer", "Silver Bullet", "Murphy's Romance", and "Lucas".
He was closely identified for many years with actor Corey Feldman. The two tried to make a comeback in 2007 with their own reality show called "The Two Corey's", which aired for two season's on A&E network.
The former teen heartthrob was also involved in several films scheduled for 2010 release: "The Girl", "The Pick Up" and "SAD".
