I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

Bryan Cranston and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were winners in more ways than one at the 2014 Emmy Awards.

Both stars took home actual Emmys Awards, with Cranston winning his fourth for Breaking Bad and Louis-Dreyfus her third for Veep (she has incredibly won Leading Actress in a Comedy for three different shows).

But they also won the funny bones of viewers everywhere after they presented on stage together and Louis-Dreyfus joked that Cranston looks a lot like the actor who played a dentist in Seinfeld years ago.

That was me, Cranston insisted. We had a kissing scene together!

Cut to a few minutes later. The actress wins her award. Cranston cuts her off and plants a HUGE kiss on her lips.

Louis-Dreyfus then gets to the podium, looks a bit wobbly and concludes: Oh, yeah. He was on Seinfeld.

To steal a line from Seinfeld: comedic gold, people.

Robin Williams. What a concept.

This is how Billy Crystal concluded a funny, moving tribute to his very good friend Robin Williams, who took his own life two weeks ago yesterday.

The comedian and actor took to the stage toward the end of last night's Emmy Awards and shared personal stories about Williams, from the time he pretended to be a Russian baseball fan to the way Williams would interact with Crystal's Jewish relatives.

"As genius as he was on stage, he was the greatest friend you could ever imagine – supportive, protective, loving," Crystal said. "It's very hard to talk about him in the past because he is so present in our lives. He was the brightest star in our comic galaxy."

Crystal and Williams (along with Whoopi Goldberg) were longtime co-hosts on HBO's Comic Relief specials, which benefitted the homeless. They also starred together in the 1997 film Fathers' Day.

Winter has come for George R.R. Martin.

The Game of Thrones author took a break from penning the latest novel in this epic over the weekend to film himself accepting the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Declaring "Winter is Coming!" just as the chilly H2O rained down from above, Martin at least have a nice warm pool waiting for him immediately after the wet deed was done.

Watch all the fun, charitable action below:

Other recent celebrities of note to take the Ice Bucket Challenge include Matt Damon, who used toilet water; and Sarah Palin, who actually made us laugh with her version.

Matt Damon has managed to kill two charitable birds causes with one stone bucket.

The actor accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge today (after being prompted to do so by Ben Affleck and Jimmy Kimmel), but he did not do so with tap water.

Instead, Damon used toilet water, as he helped bring attention to the fatal disease of ALS while also talking up a charity he helped co-found, Water.org, explaining:

"For those of you like my wife who think this is really disgusting, keep in mind that the water in our toilets in the West is actually cleaner than the water most people in the developing world have access to."

Watch now to see Damon raise awareness for the clean water and sanitation crises plaguing third world countries, and also to hear one of his kids laugh adorably in the background after his dad gets all wet:

Last week, Affleck took wife Jennifer Garner with him into the pool after accepting the Ice Bucket Challenge, while Olivia Wilde did it with breast milk.

For the second consecutive year, Miley Cyrus made headlines at the MTV Video Music Awards.

This time around, though, Miley didn't Twerk, abuse a foam finger or even perform on stage at all.

Instead, she used her Video of the Year victory to shine a spotlight on the issue of homelessness, inviting a special guest named Jesse as her date to the ceremony and having him give a speech on her behalf.

Miley Cyrus and Jesse

"I am accepting this award for the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now," Jesse told the crowd, helping Cyrus raise awareness for her new fundraising campaign for My Friends Place, a homeless center in Hollywood.

Miley has received some flak for what some perceive to be a self-serving, exploitive act... but she explained her motivation in a chat with Ryan Seacrest this morning.

It may seem as if they exist in a wholly different universe, but even celebrities attended middle school and high school.

Seriously! It's true! Remember these celebrity prom photos that really must be seen to be believed?

Now, to further drive home the point that even a global UNICEF ambassador such as Angelina Jolie, and even an amateur sex tape star such as Kim Kardashian, have something in common with regular folks, we've comprised a gallery of celebrity yearbook pictures.

While some actresses look pretty much the same (we'd know Jolie's pouty lips anywhere!), the changes in others from their teenage years until now is remarkable. Like the eighth star listed below, for instance!

If we didn't give you his name, you may not even recognize him! Click around to see what we mean and to whom we're referring:

The pouty lips haven't changed much, have they?

We already knew elephants love certain things:

Playing soccer, sitting on laps, drinking water, attacking Kim Kardashian when she tries to snap a selfie with them in Thailand.

But who knew elephants also adore classical music?!?

So violinist Eleanor Bartsch recently learned when she warmed up for her show at Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin.

The musician explains on YouTube that she decided to take a walk prior the event and ended up stopping in front of two animals named Kelly and Viola, 44 and 45-year-old elephants that happen to "really love Bach," according to Bartsch.

Seriously! There's little doubt they're swaying along the instrument's melody in this video:

Pretty awesome, right?

An anti-smoking PSA, created by The Legacy Foundation’s Truth initiative, aired last night during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards.

Depicting numerous A-Listers lighting up, the spot says these stars are giving “big tobacco tons of free marketing” and goes on to label such celebrities as Rihanna, Robert Pattinson and Lady Gaga as “unpaid tobacco” spokespeople.

"They’re the new face of big tobacco, and they don’t even know it,” reads the video.

Is this a fair label? Because young fans are clearly influenced by the actions of actors, actresses and singers?

Or is it foul for the PSA to call out stars who are typically only seen smoking because the paparazzi stalk their every move?

The PSA also does leave out the most famous smoker of all: President Barack Obama.
