I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

Based on Rock of Love, we already knew that Bret Michaels possessed a sheer will to get with groupies on his tour bus.

But now we know there's one thing this rock star cares about even more: living.

As his condition continues to improve, Michaels' neurosurgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix is marveling at Bret's recovery and attitude.

"There is no doubt that Mr. Michaels' condition is serious," Dr. Zabramski said this week, following the singer's subarachnoid hemorrhage on April 22. "Bret's sheer will to live and fully recover is undeniable. He has an unbelievable fight in him and told me what kept him alive at the moment of the hemorrhage was that he did not want his family to wake up and see him lying unconscious in the middle of the floor."

Michaels has two daughters, Raine and Jorja, ages nine and four.

He's also a diabetic who has suffered through numerous "roadblocks," Zabramski said, including "hyponatremia, severe cranial and back pain suffered from blood drainage." His patient in stable condition, the doctor added:

"It was a combination of Bret's fight to stay conscious during the hemorrhage and get to the emergency room, and the immediate medical attention provided by our staff at Barrow that enabled us to stabilize his condition.”

The team at Barrow will hold press conference on Tuesday, in which surgeons will update Michaels' progress even more.

“Thank you so much for supporting me! I feel so f—-n lucky!"

If you're a legal immigrant in Arizona, walking down the street with your child, you may now get stopped by the police solely based on the color of your skin.

While it seems incomprehensible that such a law could be passed in the United States, it's a sad fact. It's also one that Shakira spoke out against yesterday and then actually headed down to Phoenix to discuss in person with the mayor and other locals.

Turns out, she isn't the only celebrity (or American with a conscience) to object to this law. At last night's Billboard Latin Music Awards, Ricky Martin said the ruling "makes no sense" and then went off on inequality in general:

"You are not alone. We are with you. Put a stop to discrimination. Put a stop to hate. Put a stop to racism... Long live love, long live peace."

The singer himself came out of the (obvious) closet last month.

A few others on hand also chimed in on the issue.

Said Latin Artist of the Year winner, Larry Hernandez: "It's regrettable that they are discriminating against for the simple fact of looking Latino. It's not fair. We have to say no to that law."

Meanwhile, at a Phoenix press conference, Arizona native Linda Ronstadt stated: "Mexican-Americans are not going to take this lying down."

It's a contentious issue, one many Americans don't understand. Sound off with your thoughts now!

It's too soon to tell if Bret Michaels will truly be able to resume performing next month, as a message on his website teased this week.

But the good news continues to pour forth about ailing rocker.

"He's doing good. He's not by any means out of the woods, but he is getting better every day," said sister Michelle Sychak in an interview with the Omaha-based "Todd N Tyler Radio Empire" radio show on Wednesday.

Michelle added that her brother's speech was coming along.

"Things are definitely looking up... he sounded good - as good as you can when your brain's throbbing," she said. "He seems very coherent to me and like he knew what he was saying... [He] does sound like Bret. Truth be told, I think he'll outlive us all."

Sychak said Bret is stable, but remains in the intensive care unit. As always, we wish him the very best.

Earlier this week, Miley Cyrus made wishes come true for many children in need. (See photos below.)

Now, in her new single, the young singer makes wishes come true for fans that want to see her follow in the footsteps of Britney Spears; i.e. sing seductively about how much all guys want her. Just sample these lyrics from the song "Can't Be Tamed."

For those who don’t know me, I can get a bit crazy
Have to get my way, 24 hours a day
‘Cause I’m hot like that
Every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention
Like I’m under inspection, I always get the 10s
‘Cause I’m built like that

It's safe to say we take issue with any song whose lyrics simply state: I'm hot and desirable. But we'll leave it to readers to debate.

Meanwhile, it's music video day on THG! Watch and listen right now to Christina Aguilera and Justin Bieber do their thing with new songs.

Following the report that Charlie Sheen has shacked up with Angelina Tracy, this alleged mistress is speaking out.

A couple weeks ago, she denied accusations that referenced her as a "paid escort," and now she tells Radar Online that rumors of her living with Sheen are equally false.

“I am not Charlie Sheen's mistress," Tracy said. "We are just friends and we are definitely not living together."

Hmmm... but could you be friends with benefits?!?

In mid-April, a tabloid caught Sheen sneaking out of his rehab facility, donning a disguise and visiting Tracy's apartment. Since then, both Angelina and Sheen's rep have said the actor was simply helping a fellow addict through a difficult time.

Sources say Brooke Mueller is sick of Charlie cheating on her and will soon file for divorce. But Tracy sort of denies playing any role in this development.

"I am living alone in my own apartment," she said, failing to directly address whether or not she receives visits there from a certain prostitute-loving, knife-wielding sitcom star.

Matthew Morrison may not have heard of Justin Bieber, but Sean Kingston is pals with this teen icon.

The singers team up for the music video "Eenie Meenie." It features The Biebs chilling with pals, enjoying a party and, of course, macking on some lady friends.

Unlike Christina Aguilera's new video, there's no controversy over whether or not Bieber and Kingston are too sexy below. Sorry, gals. But it's still worth a long look:

Eenie, Meenie... minie, moe: If Justin Bieber were in your bed, would you ever let him go?

Halle Berry is now a single mother.

Radar Online was the first celebrity gossip site to report that Berry has split with her model boyfriend and baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry. Moreover, these sources say it was Aubry's decision!

"Gabriel just felt it wasn't working anymore," an insider said. "When they were first together, the nine-year age difference between them didn't phase him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever dated and he was totally in love. But as time went on he started feeling it more and more."

Halle

This source adds that "Gabriel started noticing other women, and being attracted to other [women], and he felt it just wasn't right to stay with Halle in those circumstances."

That's why this report seems questionable. Look at these Halle Berry pictures. Come on, Gabriel! With all the talk about Megan Fox and Heidi Klum and other desirable females, is there anyone more consistently gorgeous than Halle Berry?!?

Berry and Aubry are the parents of Nahla, who the actress gave birth to in in March 2008. Reports indicate that a custody arrangement has already been agreed upon.

If this is truly the end for Bubry, let's take a look back at their relationship via the following photo retrospective:

On June 8, Christina Aguilera will release her new album, "Bionic."

But the singer announced her return to the music business loudly, proudly and provocatively this week: she posted the video for "Not Myself Tonight" online.

In the video below, and in the still shot from it seen here, the singer embraces her inner dominatrix. She recently said: “I’m more confident and comfortable in my own skin. I think I’m even a more sexual Christina."

That's incredible news for warm-blooded males around the world, but it's stirring up some criticisms of Christina on the Web.

After all, she's a mother now. What will she tell her son Max when he sees her acting in such a manner?

“I never claimed to be a cookie-cutter soccer mom. That’s all good for some people. Not for me," she told Access Hollywood. “[Max will] grow up in a household where he knows mommy expresses herself artistically and some of that will have to reflect itself sexually, too, at times.

“He’s going to learn to respect the fact that women are allowed to express themselves and not feel shameful about their bodies or their sexuality.”

Sounds like a fair, mature message to us. WATCH THE "NOT MYSELF TONIGHT" VIDEO BELOW AND THEN SOUND OFF ON IT.

It's been a good couple weeks for Conan O'Brien:

He's landed on his funny feet at TBS, and he's been named the second most influential artist on the planet.

Obama and Leno

This Sunday on 60 Minutes, meanwhile, the comedian will speak in depth for the first time on the decision by NBC to toss him aside as host of The Tonight Show and replace him with Jay Leno, who was all too happy to take back the gig.

Would Conan have done the same thing in Jay's place?

"He went and took that show back, and I think in a similar situation, if roles had been reversed, I know - I know me, I wouldn't have done that," O’Brien says. "If I had surrendered The Tonight Show and handed it over to somebody publicly and wished them well - and then... six months later. But that's me. Everyone's got their own way of doing things."

A classy individual, as evidenced by this statement he released in the middle of the late-night mess, Conan continued to emphasize that he could only speak for himself, refusing to completely lay into Leno.

As for why he left NBC, O'Brien remembers thinking "this relationship is going be toxic and maybe we just need to go our separate ways.

"That's really how it felt to me... and I started to feel that I'm not sure these people even really want me here ... I can't do it [anymore]."

While we appreciate how mature and professional Conan has been throughout this ordeal, we're also glad David Letterman is around - to basically be the exact opposite.
