I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

It's clear who the loser is in the recent NBC late-night shake-up: Conan O'Brien.

But it's also apparent who the winner has become in this mess of a situation: David Letterman.

The Late Show host has gotten in numerous attacks on Jay Leno and NBC over the past couple weeks, prompting NBC executive Dick Ebersol to call him and O'Brien "chicken-hearted and gutless" for their take on the mess.

Naturally (and hilariously), Letterman responded to this critique last night. After subtly tweaking Leno's reputation as America's friendly everyman, he said: “I’m telling jokes and making fun of Jay Leno relentlessly, mercilessly, simply for one reason: I’m really enjoying it.”

It's classic Letterman:

As if we needed another reason to love Robert Pattinson.

The Twilight Saga star will join a number of other celebrities this Friday as part of Hope for Haiti, the George Clooney-hosted telethon that will air across all major networks and focus on earthquake relief in that troubled nation.

Reports indicate that Robert will be the sole presenter in London, likely introducing performances by Jay-Z and Bono.

Popular Pattinson

Artists performing during the live, two-hour event will include Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Shakira and Bruce Springsteen.

Meanwhile, other A-listers scheuled to present and/or work the phone lines will be: Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Renée Zellweger, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Colin Farrell and Jon Hamm.

Stars such as Sanda Bullock, Gisele Bundchen and Brangelina have already donated at least $1 million each to the cause.

Note to THG readers: stay in Friday night. Save money on drinks at the bar and donate to the victims of this earthquake.

Does American Idol have the next David Archuleta on its hands?

Granted, it's very early to make that comparison, but there are clear similarities between Aaron Kelly and the season seven finalist.

Kelly is one of several contestants rumored to have advanced to the top 24 this year. He's only 16, yet has a lot of confidence and has gone through some trials already in life: Aaron's aunt and uncle adopted him when he was a toddler because his parents were simply too por.

On Aaron's MySpace page, he's referred to himself as a “Legend in the Works."

Archuleta came across as more humble, of course, but both these artists got started at an early age.

Kelly landed an independent recording contract when he was 10 and won the “American Idol Experience” at DisneyWorld last year. This qualified him to audition for the judges this season and earn unanimous approval for Hollywood.

Critics are already comparing Aaron Kelly to Archuleta, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber. All the hype is a bit premature.

But the following clip of Kelly singing "Jesus Take the Wheel" proves that he's a contestant worth remembering.

Sorry, Glee fans, but Adam Lambert is not coming on board this Fox series.

But a couple of other major names are likely to guest star on the 2010 Golden Globe winner for Best Comedy.

Executive producer Brad Falchuk has confirmed that Jennifer Lopez is in negotiations to appear this season as a cafeteria worker. Echoed creator Ryan Murphy:

"Lopez wants to do the show, so I’m going to meet with her. In the past couple of months, a lot of people are coming out saying they love the show... But I don’t want to stunt-cast too much, because I think the [musical] numbers are already so extravagant.”

  • NPH

Still, there's no way Glee could turn down this opportunity:

Neil Patrick Harris is rumored to to star in a May sweeps episode directed by good friend Joss Whedon. The How I Met Your Mother star might be the most universally beloved figure on television these days.

His presence on Glee will only ratchet up the popularity of a show that's already been renewed for a second season and whose creativity and uniqueness is unrivaled on the small screen.

As for J. Lo? As long as she continues to keep it real as Jenny from the Bronx block, we'll be happy.

Note to Tila Tequila:

This is how you mourn a loved one... sort of.

While that troubled reality star continues to Tweet, pimp out her record level and exploit the death of Casey Johnson in every conceivable way, Courtenay Semel has released an emotional video tribute to her ex-girlfriend.

Granted, the video aired on E! News and there's a good chance Semel was paid to make it. She also butchers the English language by saying Johnson was "literally" her other half, and makes a vow to never date anyone again that is unlikely to be kept.

But at least this is the only time Courtenay has spoken out about Casey. Do the words seem strong for someone whose hair Semel once set on fire? Yes. But, hey, who are we to judge?!?

Watch the tribute below.

Nick Jonas has a new band.

Does he also have an old girlfriend?

In the video below, Selena Gomez is spotted getting off a tour bus with Nick in Chicago. Sources also say she was in attendance at his concert in Detroit over the weekend.

Rumors of a Jonas/Gomez relationship began to surface in the summer of 2008. Nick never really shot them down, though there was never an official break-up. Think this video means there's been an official reconciliation?

During he and his band's tour, Nick has covered songs by Michael Jackson and Taylor Swift?

Why nothing by Gomez? Perhaps he was trying to throw fans off the scent of this rekindled romance. Sound off with your thoughts on this possible pairing right now.

As Conan O'Brien supporters gathered for rallies in New York and Los Angeles yesterday, Jay Leno took to the air to finally tell his side of the late-night controversy at NBC.

Based on everything Leno said, two things are clear:

  1. Everyone that runs the network should be fired immediately.
  2. Leno isn't remotely funny or creative.

In the clip below, he simply lays out everything that's happened over the last few years between he and O'Brien. It's simple, it's professional (he refers to Conan as a "gentlemen" and "good guy") and it's nowhere near as witty as the statement released by Conan last week.

Leno also claims the situation might be resolved today. We'll keep readers apprised if it is.

** UPDATE: Source confirm that O'Brien is to officially lose The Tonight Show. In exchange, he'll receive $32.5 million from NBC, and his staff will also receive severance.

In exchange for this deal, Conan may not host another show until September.

With rumors flying around her personal life (might she actually get engaged soon?), Miley Cyrus got back to work this week.

Her and the Hannah Montana crew began shooting the show's final season yesterday.

Disney Channel reps, meanwhile, have confirmed the dates for this season's two-part cliffhanger, appropriately titled "Miley Says Goodbye?" The installments will air on March 7 and March 14.

As Hannah Montana

Said Disney's chief creative executive Gary Marsh in a statement:

"This fourth season is an expression of Miley Cyrus' personal commitment to ensuring that 'Hannah' will live forever in the hearts and minds of kids everywhere."

Incredibly, a family involved in a MTV reality show has proven to be dangerous and unstable.

According to Iowa's Daily Nonpareil, police responded on Saturday to the home of Farrah Abraham, the star of an episode of Teen Mom.

Derek Lowe Mug Shot

Reports indicate that Farrah was involved in a confrontation with her mother, Debra Danielson, who was arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse/serious assault.

The Council Bluffs Police Department told TMZ that daughter and mother started to argue and Debra allegedly threw a shirt at Farrah; it reportedly landed "on or near" Farrah's baby.

At the sight of her child (pictured above with her) crying, Farrah says she went after her mom... who proceeded to grab Farrah by the throat. Farrah told police she pushed Danielson's hand away, leading her mother to strike her on the right side of her head and mouth.

Cops at the scene of the crime confirm multiple cuts on the right side of Farrah's lips.
