I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

We have an update on the tragic situation surrounding Bruce Beresford-Redman and his late wife.

Bruce is the former Survivor producer suspected of murdering wife Monica in Cancun earlier this month. While authorities are preventing him from leaving Mexico as they ponder charges and collect evidence, Monica's family has finally brought her body to Los Angeles.

Sisters Jeanne and Carla Burgos flew with the corpse, which was taken to the Gates, Kingsley & Gates Smith Salsbury funeral home in Culver City.

"It's very important to have my sister back where she belongs and have the family say goodbye and have a place to go so they can send their love," Jeanne said.

The body will now undergo further testing, as funeral service arrangements are being planned. It's a sad situation all around.

Time Magazine has come out with its annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people.

It's divided into four categories (Leaders, Heroes, Thinkers and Artists), although we have no idea how Sarah Palin ended up in the number-nine slot as a "Leader." What does she lead, exactly? Whatever organization pays her the most money to speak at its event?

But anyway.

Lady GaGa is considered the most influential artist on the planet, with Conan O'Brien ranking second. Also in the top 10: Oprah, Taylor Swift and Robert Pattinson.

So Very Influential
Prince Pic

The magazine spoke to a number of people closely associated to these celebrities and received the following takes on them:

Cyndi Lauper on Lady GaGa: Lady Gaga's art captures the period we're in right now. She isn't a pop act, she is a performance artist. She herself is the art. She is the sculpture.

George Lopez on Conan O'Brien: Conan's tenacity and wit have been an inspiration to me on my own late-night show. I'm happy and proud that we'll be playing on the same team when he comes to basic cable.

Chris Weitz on Robert Pattinson: Rob is a reserved, bookish sort of specimen, a guy who'd rather spend the night at the corner table in the pub with friends — a bit of a weirdo, frankly, in the best sense.

For the complete list of influential artists, see below.

We gotta talk, Life & Style.

We understand that you're celebrity gossip tabloid trying to make money, and that naive individuals blindly heed the words of talentless celebrities for reasons that make us ashamed to be a human being.

Therefore, you're gonna plaster their bikini bodies on your cover each week and make it seem like such geniuses as Kim Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson can actually offer useful advice. But can you at least publish new material?!?

The latest issue of this embarrassing publication simple recycles old photos for its lead story and then quotes Kim, Kendra and others from interviews these stars gave months ago.

Bikini Body Slim-Down!

For example, Kendra offers these words of wisdom to anyone trying to get in shape: "I'm phasing [junk food] out, little by little... and "hiking, biking, just going outside and having fun."

How about you, Kristin Cavallari? What's your secret? "I don't eat processed food, for the most part. I try to eat all natural. I work out three to four times a week at the gym and do lots of sit-ups."

So... wait. People can lose weight if they eat healthy and exercise?!? This is novel information. What else can you tell us, Life & Style?

Only you can stop this madness, people. Stop purchasing these ridiculous tabloids, especially when we'll reprint their covers for free on THG. While the magazine above isn't the only offender - did you hear that Jennifer Aniston lost 7 pounds in 7 days?!? - it's clearly the most unoriginal.

See anything familiar on the cover of its previous two issues, prior to the one above?

She may star in mundane romantic comedies, but Jennifer Lopez is nothing but an original when it comes to fashion.

Remember her iconic dressat the 2000 Grammy Awards? Or her catsuit on New Year's Eve?

J. Lo has always pushed the style envelope, likely to distract from her floundering career. Case in point:

Look at how she wore her hair at the UK premiere of The Back-Up Plan. It's smart PR, really. Now people will talk about that thing on her head instead of that awful movie on the screen...

J. Lo Hair

What do you think of J. Lo's hair?

We can't imagine anyone would wish to copy this hairstyle, but what do you think of Lopez's dress in the photos below? You can find it, and other celebrity fashion ideas, in our new THG store!

Ashley Greene and Vanessa Hudgens are featured in the latest issue of Nylon.

But these aren't the only young actresses the magazine focuses on for its Young Hollywood edition. AnnaLynne McCord also received her own spread in the publication, highlighted by a series of unusual looks on the 90210 star.

What did she think of them all? McCord dished as she posed:

“This preppy look with the red lip and the hat is the cutest one. It’s something I wouldn’t usually try.”

"I love wearing my hair in a high ponytail. Ryan Murphy requested it for this scene on Nip/Tuck in which he wanted me to look bitchy."

“It’s not often that I get to do high fashion anymore. I really enjoyed that when I was modeling - as an actress, it’s usually like, ‘Keep her pretty and glam.’ I totally would rock a toned-down version of this look.”

You tell us, readers: Which of these looks is your favorite on McCord?

We ranked her second after Tuesday night's performance show, but American Idol viewers had a different idea about Siobhan Magnus:

They actually voted out this eccentric singer yesterday, cutting season nine down to five finalists.

While it's true Magnus could rely too much on hitting glory notes, and certainly talked back too much to the judges, at least she brought something unique to the Idol table. With the exception of Crystal Bowersox, can that really be said about anyone remaining?

Goodbye, Siobhan

Equally as surprising as Siobhan's elimination? She was joined in the bottom three by Casey James and Michael Lynche. We'd love for someone to tell us how Aaron Kelly avoided that fate.

At least Shakira performed last night. She and her hips always make us happy. She was joined on stage bu Rascal Flatts, and Sons of Sylvia also played for viewers. Check them all out below, and bid farewell to Magnus now...

Great news on the Bret Michaels front today

A week after suffering a brain hemorrhage, the hospitalized rock star is responding positively to tests and treatment. According to the latest message on his website, doctors are optimistic that Michaels will make a full recovery.

"We thank you all for your continued support and outpouring of well wishes for Bret," reads the website posting. "While additional studies are planned throughout the week to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture Bret will remain monitored closely by his medical team to make sure no further complications occur."

Not only might Bret be back on his feet shortly, but reps are hoping he'll actually be back on the stage.

"Provided there are no further complications or setbacks," the message continues, he'll resume his Roses & Thorns tour on May 26 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He might even reschedule the shows this incident caused him to cancel. What a trooper!

A tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd in June and July isn't even out of the question for Michaels, sources say.

If he pulls all this off, we promise to never make fun of Michaels again for singing inappropriate lyrics to a 17-year old. Way to go, Bret!

The Twilight Saga will go out in style.

It's been confirmed that Dreamgirls director Bill Condon will helm Breaking Dawn, the final film in the franchise, as the Oscar winner signed off on the project today. He said:

“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book - and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience.”

Breaking Dawn starts production later this year. It will feature, of course, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson in the roles that made them famous.

Multiple reports, meanwhile, state that Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies. If this takes place, it's safe to assume Condon will direct both installments.

In related news: Gosh, Robert Pattinson is good looking!
