I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

Earlier today, Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker announced his verdict regarding Prop 8, the controversial ballot proposition that was passed in November 2008 and banned gay marriage in California.

Judge Walked deemed the amendment a violation of the Constitution's equal protection clause under the 14th Amendment and overturned it. THG's reaction to this news?

Hooray! There's no practical argument against the harmless institution of gay marriage, and every reason to treat homosexuals the same as heterosexuals. As for the reaction in Hollywood, an outspoken community when it came to this issues? Here are a handful of responses:

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger: "This decision affirms the full legal protections and safeguards I believe everyone deserves."

Ellen DeGeneres: "Equality won!"

Portia de Rossi: "I am ecstatic that proposition 8 has been overturned in the state of California. This is an incredibly exciting and historical day and a big step towards equal rights for all."

Lance Bass: "Congrats on the overturning of Prop 8!!!!"

Celebs

Pink: "It’s a good day!"

Adam Lambert: It's time to "throw glitter on this barn!

Ricky Martin: "YEAHHHHH!!!!! PROP8UNCONSTITUTIONAL MOVING FORWARD!!!!!!!!"

Kelly Osbourne: "so happy over the news on prop8 its about time!"

Kim Kardashian: "Prop 8 was struck down! This news is amazing!!!! Its about time! Congrats to everyone!"

Shanna Moakler: "Tonight we celebrate! EQUALITY and LOVE for all! This is so much bigger then [sic] marriage, it's about wisdom, compassion and knowing we CAN be heard, action DOES make a difference!"

Samantha Ronson: "Song Of The Day: Let's Get Married- Jagged Edge."

Olivia Munn: "Prop 8 Overturned!!! Equal rights for everyone! Nice to be out of the 1950s..."

Seth Myers: "Prop 8 was always my least favorite Prop. Favorite Prop: Joe."

Justin Bieber really is coming to CSI this fall.

While the news that this adorable young singer would play a recurring role on one of TV's most highly-rated dramas seemed a bit far-fetched at first, we now have photographic evidence to back it up.

With executive producer Carol Mendelsohn saying Justin “did a really good job" during filming on July 23, here's your first look at the cutie as the character of Jason McCann:

Multiple sources confirm that McCann is a troubled teen with a foster father in prison. His brother is out to seek revenge on police, leaving Jason "in the middle," Mendelsohn explained, adding: “Is he a good kid stuck in a bad situation or is he a bad kid hiding behind the cutes?”

Bieber will appear on the September 23 season premiere. He'll then return for a second episode likely to air in February.

All of this, of course, leads up to Justin's big-screen debut, which will be shown in 3D. Tweeted our favorite shaggy-haired stud on the CSI experience so far:

“Amazing day... excited for you guys to get to watch it... Thanks to everyone at CSI for having me.”

Known as much for his humanitarian efforts as his musical career, Wyclef Jean has announced his plans to run for the Haitian presidency.

Said the social activist, confirming the news to Time magazine and referencing January's natural disaster in the region:

“If not for the earthquake, I probably would have waited another 10 years before doing this... If I can’t take five years out to serve my country as President, then everything I’ve been singing about, like equal rights, doesn’t mean anything.”

Wycleff, who was born in Haiti and moved to Brooklyn when he was nine, added: “I want to be part of a different kind of celebrity, one that thinks not just about charity but policy.”

In 2005, Jean established the Yéle Haiti Foundation, which hands out scholarships to children in the country.

We admire his dedication and have a few campaign slogans in mind:

  • If you're Gone Til November, vote for me when you get home!
  • Wyclef: Down to Earth, not down with earthquakes.
  • Wyclef? Why not!

Brett Favre still can't decide whether or not to retire. Or take off his Crocs before getting freaky in pics texted to Jenn Sterger.

Allow us to explain.

Hot Jenn Sterger Picture

Sterger is a former Florida State University student who parlayed her looks into spreads in Maxim and Playboy and even a gig as a part-time correspondent for Sports Illustrated's website. She now serves as a reporter on The Daily Line, a program on Versus.

According to AJ Daulerio of Deadspin.com, Sterger shared a story with him that focused on Favre's one-year stint with the New York Jets and a few exchanges he had with this journalist. Take it away, AJ!

“Sterger received a picture on her phone which was so shocking that she just tossed it across the room. It was his dick. Brett Favre’s dick. And it happened multiple times. In fact, Sterger claims that, in one of the photos Favre allegedly sent her, he’s masturbating — while wearing a pair of Crocs.”

It's important to note that no text messages or photos have been produced. Moreover, both the article's author and Sterger confirm that she's never met the indecisive quarterback.

Still, this story is too funny to not pass along.

After all, sports fans all know Favre is a tool. But few of us could have predicted we'd be reading a story about him showing his to Jenn Sterger today.

A Lamar Odom/Khloe Kardashian reality show is a scary enough thought.

But now the NBA star has planted an even more frightening idea in our minds: kids with the attention-starved professional celebrity.

"We would love to be able to raise children together," Odom told People magazine this week. "That's something that happens when you become a family. Hopefully it'll happen soon."

And, undoubtedly, cameramen will be around to chronicle every aspect of the experience. Thank goodness.

Katch Up!

Asked if the exploited son of Kourtney Kardashian helps him and Khloe prepare for the inevitable, Odom answered in the affirmative.

"[Mason] definitely gives us some insight, some practice. [He] is a special little boy."

The power forward has two kids from a previous relationship. He also has two championship rings from his stint in Los Angeles. Man, we hate the Lakers!

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe didn't celebrate his 21st birthday alone last month.

The actor was spotted out with Olive Uniacke, the stepdaughter of David Heyman, who has produced many of the Harry Potter movies.

Goofy Glasses

According to a source, speaking to London's The Daily Mail: "Olive and Dan have known each other a long time... They were close a few years ago but the relationship fizzled out then. Even so, they have always remained friends. And in the last few months they have grown closer again."

Uniacke, studied at the Gordonstoun school in Scotland, the same institution that educated Prince Charles. Moreover, this 19-year old knows how to party!

"Olive is renowned for holding some of the best house parties, really great bashes," said the insider. "She can be quite wild. She loves to drink champagne, particularly Moet, and she chain-smokes Camel cigarettes. She also loves to go nightclubbing."

This is all terrible news for Ginny Weasley, of course. How can Ron's sister's possibly compete with all that?!?

With the clear exception of Inception, it's been the summer of comedies.

Few dramas have made a dent in the box office, while more light-hearted films such as Toy Story 3, Despicable Me and Dinner for Schmucks have fared very well.

That trend will likely continue this weekend, as The Other Guys hits theaters nationwide. It features Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell as mismatched police partners - which is really all you need to know, isn't it?

The cast came out last night for the movie's Hollywood premiere, as Wahlberg and Ferrell pose below with co-star Eva Mendes. Yes, she's also in the flick, making it humorous and also very, very attractive...

Stars of The Other Guys
  • Mark Wahlberg Photograph
  • One of The Other Guys
  • Will Ferrell and Wife
  • Sammy J.
  • Shields, Brooke

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Kristen Bell and other young celebrities urge fans to do exactly that in the following public service announcement.

It was filmed in honor of Stand Up to Cancer, a telethon that will air on September 10 across all major networks and raise money to fight this deadly disease.

Aside from the aforementioned trio, those sending a helpful message below include: Andrew Garfield, Dakota Fanning, Logan Lerman, Jon Heder, Aubrey Plaza, Zachary Levi, Sofia Vassilieva and Olivia Munn.

Says producer Laura Ziskin:

“It is important for young people to be aware of the scope of the problem and the odds that they may face, both for their own future and for their loved ones. This piece is about how it is never too soon to take a stand against these devastating and epidemic diseases. Theirs may be the generation that gets us to the finish line."
