I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

Justin Bieber is in a giving mood.

The singer appeared this morning on The Today Show and hyped his best-selling Christmas album, "Under the Mistletoe," explaining that a portion of all proceeds are going toward charities that include Make-a-Wish, Medishare for Haiti, City of Hope and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Miley Cyrus turns 19 years old today, marking the occasion in the same way she's spent the past few months: By remaining relatively quiet.

The singer/actress has not been in the news much lately, with the exception of a recent Tweet that called out her body image critics. But Miley's boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, is making far more headlines than his gal pal these days, thanks to his upcoming role in The Hunger Games (watch the awesome trailer NOW).

Welcome to the final seven, Marcus Canty.

Let's be honest: it will take a heart of stone to vote out this X Factor contestant this week, following his emotional rendition of "A Song for Mama," a Boyz II Men single dedicated to Canty's mother, who was dabbing her eyes in the audience throughout the rendition.

Chris Rene is nothing if not original.

This X Factor finalist took to the stage last night and turned one of The Beatles' better known singles into an R&B track, breaking down "Let It Be" in a way most viewers had likely not heard before. He then transitioned into "Young Homie."

Note to L.A. Reid: the song "Skyscraper" was written and originally performed by Demi Lovato. She's 19 years old. What would you like Drew Ryniewicz to cover, a track from Sesame Street?

Following this 15-year old's emotional performance last night, Reid contrived an argument with Simon Cowell by somehow claiming he continues to select singles for his pupil that are not age-appropriate. Why are you doing songs for old people? he asked in one of the more insane assessments of the season.

What do you want from Astro, people? He's from Brooklyn!

Following last week's controversial results show reaction - which was either staged by producers or simply a consequence of Astro's age/attitude - this young rapper spent his introductory video last night giving thanks to his supporters. He then kicked off his cover of "Show Me What You Got" with a reference to his hometown.

Do you believe in Rachel Crow?

This young X Factor finalist did all she could last night to earn votes and praise from the judges, covering a Yolanda Adams single with the same pluck and fire she brings each week to the competition. At least we think that's what happened. It was a bit difficult to actually see Rachel on stage, what with all the backup dancers and confetti flying around. This may have been an overly staged performance.
