Rihanna and U2 are among the major names expected to come together this week in the name of disaster relief.

Universal Music has confirmed to Billboard that it plans to release a digital album at some point in the next few days, with all proceeds going to the Japanese Red Cross.

"We are doing it only digitally because it is faster, and this will be a worldwide release. The plan is to have it available later this week," a company spokesman said.

The lineup of artists is not finalized, as the label must find major acts willing to waive their royalties in exchange for a single to be included on the CD. Lady Gaga, a Universal signee who has already designed a special bracelet for the cause, is a strong possibility to join.

The March 11 earthquake in the region, and subsequent tsunami, have left over 20,000 people dead or missing.

UPDATE: Justin Bieber will also lend his voice to the album. He has Tweeted: "Japan is one of my favorite places on earth... it's an incredible culture with amazing people. My prayers go out to them."

It sounds like there really is hope for the Cyrus family after all.

A few months after seemingly splitting, Billy Ray and Tish are both ready to patch up their relationship. The former attempted to do so in a public setting last week, saying on The View that he was withdrawing his petition for divorce.

Now, Tish has issued a statement via Facebook that also makes it clear she wants to work things out. Miley's mom writes:

Big thanks to all of our family, friends, and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers. I feel so blessed to have so much support from all of you. Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been. Much love to all of you guys! You're the BEST.

Miley, meanwhile, is busy making plans of her own: she'll set off on an international tour this spring.

Might Charlie Sheen not be unemployed for much longer?

The actor, who is set to go on tour early next month, reportedly had an hour-long meeting with Fox over the weekend. Included at the summit were Mike Darnell, President of Alternative Entertainment;  David Hill, President of FOX Sports; and Peter Rice, Chariman of Entertainment for FOX Networks Group.

She's back, folks.

In October 2009, Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account, saying she wanted a bit more of a private life. What has changed now? It's unclear, but Miley is back to social networking. Sort of.

Over the weekend, the singer Tweeted "This is my new way to connect. When I need to speak out I will tweet from @Rock_Mafia ROCK MAFIA FOREVER." Then, to prove she was actually behind the keyboard, Cyrus posted the following photo of herself and producer Antonina Armato:

Glee is on hiatus until April 12. But a couple random celebrities have given fans of this Fox series a couple things to buzz over during the break.

First, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl went off on the show, echoing the sentiments of King of Leon and a couple other artists that have taken exception to creator Ryan Murphy's insistence over all bands giving the show rights to their music. Grohl cursed a lot in his assessment of this stance.

Then, former SNL cast member Victoria Jackson reacted to a male-on-male kiss by accusing to Glee of pushing an agenda of "one-way tolerance." We've summarized both feuds in this edition of The Pulse...

It's double poll time, readers.

Karen Rodriguez was eliminated from American Idol last week. After wiping off her makeup and hugging goodbye to all the finalists, the aspiring singer says she took the long view.

She told E! News:

"I always lived by the words 'Everything happens for a reason,' and there have been so many instances in my life where I've lost some things and you don't really know why [at the time], but in a few days or a few months I will see why. Maybe if I would have stayed in the competition longer, there would have been an opportunity I might have missed out on."

Elimination Song

What does Karen want to do next? Everything, just like a certain American Idol judge.

"I would love to do movies and commercials. That would be one of my dreams. I admire Jennifer Lopez so much for that because she's been able to handle that so well, having music and movies and doing everything she's been doing, so I definitely want to be like her."

Rodriguez may have lost out to more popular contestants such as Pia Toscano, but the elimination hasn't put a damper on her confidence. She says:

"There are so many things above American Idol that I want to do. I want to win a Grammy. I want to win an Oscar. I want to do so many things that will just keep topping the other."
