I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

Bill O'Reilly hosts the highest-rated cable news show on television.

As a result, one would hope the Fox News anchor would use such a pulpit to tackle important, practical issues facing the country. Instead, he chimes in on the latest celebrity gossip headlines in order to conjure up controversy and make headlines for himself.

First, he took issue with Jennifer Aniston's comment that science allows older, single women to have a baby these days via in vitro fertilization. O'Reilly referred to this harmless, factual point as "destructive to our society."

Now, the talk show host has set his sights on Justin Bieber and the photo shoot he did for Elle with Kim Kardashian. Said O'Reilly:

"I wanted to be a baseball player [when I was 16]. I didn't want to hang around with Kim Kardashian...I had a baseball bat and a bat and [a pair of] ice skates! That's what I was doing... if a 16-year-old girl was pictured with a 29-year-old man in any of that, he'd be in big trouble."

For Elle

By sitting a few feet in front of Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber is clearly helping to destroy society, right, Bill O'Reilly?

Added Republican strategist Margaret Hoover, a panelist on The O'Reilly Factor: "I think it's gross. It's a 16-year-old having an affair with a celebutante!"

It's actually just a 16-year old sitting next to, and running along the beach with, a celebutante. But why would Fox News let facts get in the way of an imaginary scandal that increases ratings? Sarah Palin doesn't do that with the First Amendment.

There's no reason to think the network that provides her talking points will do so any time soon.

Jay Mariotti annoys viewers of ESPN's Around the Horn on a daily basis.

But the sports journalist is now in trouble for far more than inane ramblings and unfunny jokes.

Mariotti was arrested early this morning in Los Angeles on a felony charge of domestic violence, reports the L.A. County Sheriff's Department website. The arrest took place at 4:30 a.m.

A former write for The Chicago Sun-Times, Mariotti was released after posting $50,000 bail. In 2004, he got into a fight with a White Sox announcer who claimed Mariotti was a "fraud" for never entering the club house of the team he covered.

Justin Bieber is finally setting his sights on a woman closer to his age.

The 16-year old has made his crushes on older beauties such as Kim Kardashian and Megan Fox well known, most recently saying Katy Perry and Cheryl Cole were "two of the hottest girls in the world."

But in a new interview with Great Britain's The Sun, Bieber doesn't hide his feelings for Harry Potter star Emma Watson, 20. He says of the actress:

"I would love to take her out for dinner. It would be great if she could come to one of my concerts, then we could hang out afterwards. I love the fact she is one of the biggest female movie stars, but has chosen to go back to college. It shows she is really grounded and normal."

  • Give It Up For Me!
  • Beautiful Emma

It's true: Watson attends Brown University and is considered one of the more unaffected child stars the entertainment industry has ever seen.

She is dating George Craig, however, and we aren't a fan of her new haircut. Justin could probably do better. Who do you think he should date?

Ke$ha may be an eccentric artist that dons unusual fashion choices and rakes in millions of dollars via album sales.

But, really, the singer is just like you and me: she likes to know what time it is.

"My schedule’s so tight and so crazy, and if I go get lost on a mountain or I’m writing a song, sometimes I lose track of time," she says of her decision to pose for a new Baby-G watch campaign.

The singer, who recently defended Adam Lambert's VMA snub, is seen below in a series of promotional pics for the company. Click on each to enlarge and then watch a video of her behind the scenes at the shoot:

In a photo that was totally not staged, Bethenny Frankel totally did not make thousands of dollars for splashing through the water in a bikini earlier this month in Montauk, New York.

According to Life & Style, it was the first time this reality star donned a bathing suit since giving birth in May and "she looked amazing," said a witness, adding:

"She looked like she'd lost all the baby weight, and she was toned, too. Even her tush was remarkable."

That sound you hear? Jason Hoppy totally slapping that impressive backside. Oohhh yeah!

Frankel says she's lost 33 pounds since squeezing out daughter Bryn this spring. How did she do it?

"There's been no real drastic any thing. I've really been eating, just not like a crazy person," she said, offering up this unhealthy piece of advice: "Taste everything, eat nothing."

We guess that's better than Kim Kardashian and her QuickTrim-based motto for dieting: Eat everything. Crap it all out.

Paris Hilton taught Kim Kardashian everything she knows.

Namely, how to turn a videotaped sexual dalliance into a lucrative career of posing in a bikini and attending parties.

But with Paris stuck making like Marilyn Monroe to get attention these days, reports indicate the former A-lister finally lost it at a Las Vegas party this week. On August 13, she allegedly flew into a rage when Kim showed up and stole the spotlight.

A witness told Us Weekly Hilton was "fuming" over the luxurious way Kardashian arrived at club Lavo: "She could not believe Kim got a jet and she didn't. She used to get the jets."

Nothing But Cleavage

Can't two talentless sex tape stars just get along?!?

Once Kim made her way into the hotspot, she demanded far more attention than her former pre-school classmate, which created the main source of tension between the ex-BFFs.

"It's 100 percent jealousy," the insider said of Hilton's feelings toward Kardashian. "Kim is not only doing what Paris did, she's doing it better, and everyone loves her."

Added another source: "Kim should thank Paris. Paris gave her her career."

Hmmm... we think this individual is mistaking Paris Hilton for Ray J.

In a recent interview, Kim was asked about this reported fight with her former pal and simple said: "I try not to let any negativity in. I keep positive people around me, have an amazing family and group of friends and just because I'm not best friends with someone doesn't mean we are feuding. It's ridiculous."

That's not really a denial, is it?

Lisa Wu Hartwell is out of The Real Housewives of Atlanta; while Phaedra Parks and Cynthia Bailey are in.

The latter is a former model and part-time actress. Bravo has released a press release that lets viewers get to know Bailey a bit better before this series returns for season three on October 4. Consider these important facts about the latest Housewife:

Sheree Whitfield Pic
  • She is not a wife... yet. Bailey's main storyline will revolve around pressure from her boyfriend, Peter Thomas, to get married.
  • She's a long-time friend of NeNe Leakes.
  • She was born in Alabama and moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue a career in modeling.
  • She has walked the runways in Paris and Milan and guest-starred on The Cosby Show.

With The Real Housewives of New Jersey soon concluding its season, Bailey and company will have seriously dramatic, scripted shoes to fill when it comes to replicating the insanity of Danielle Staub and the whining of Teresa Giudice.

Will they meet these expectations? Tune in. Find out.

Wyclef Jean will not be the next President of Haiti. His bid for this office has ended before it really began.

Sources tell The Los Angeles Times that the artist has NOT been included on the list of approved candidates who satisfy legal requirements to run in the country's November 28 election.

According to an electoral official, Wyclef does not meet all the legal requirements for the position, which include a home in Haiti; Jean primarily resides in New Jersey.

The singer was born in Haiti and moved to Brooklyn at the age of nine, later joining The Fugees and launching a music career in the United State.

He was among 34 contenders for the Haitian presidency who filed the proper documents this month, but "he is not on the list as I speak," a member of the country's provisional electoral council told the newspaper.

Wyclef's initial bid was met with skepticism by many, including a former Fugees group member and most notably, Sean Penn.

Welcome to Extremist Makeover Homeland Edition.

On last night's edition of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart skewered Fox News by playing its own, ridiculous, dangerous game.

In a segment that focused on the controversial plans to build a mosque a few blocks from Ground Zero in NYC, Stewart first aired a series of clips that showed commentators claiming they believe in freedom of religion... only to add qualifiers for why an Islamic cultural center would be terrible for America.

Dick Morris even went so far as to call it a "terrorist command center." Such a statement may be even more unfounded that Sarah Palin's lack of First Amendment comprehension.

While acknowledging it's understandable for people to feel uncomfortable with the mosque, Stewart went off on Fox News when a guest on that network pulled out a highlighted index card and went about "proving" that the man behind the Islamic center is connected to Iran.

"It's a dangerous game of guilt by association that you can play with anyone," Stewart said. "It's 'six degrees of people who don't eat bacon.'"

To prove his point, the host used his own index card and displayed similar "facts" that connect News Corp owner Rupert Murdoch to Osama Bin Laden, prompting him to ask: "Is Fox News a terrorist command center? I don't know! I just don't know."

WATCH THE ENTIRE SEGMENT BELOW AND SOUND OFF NOW.
