Hilton Hater

I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

Selena Gomez really has to take it easy.

The 18-year old was hospitalized last week for high blood pressure and exhaustion, and it's easy to understand why. Just take a look at her schedule:

Selena Gomez at the AMAs

Gomez has been promoting the movie Monte Carlo and hyping a new single, both of which involve giving multiple interviews (she has 30 on tap over the next few days) and multiple performances. She also has to deal with crazy Justin Bieber fans.

"She is one of the hardest working people in show business, but now even Selena knows she needs to slow down," an insider tells Pop Eater. "You have no idea how much work goes into promoting a record or a film."

Joss Stone might need to hire extra security.

British authorities confirm that two men were arrested this week for allegedly plotting to rob and murder the pop star. They were apprehended near Stone's residence with swords, rope and a body bag in their possession.

"Police attended an address in Cullompton yesterday morning after alert residents notified officers about a suspicious-looking vehicle," a spokesperson for the Devon and Cornwall Police said. "Officers attended the area at around 10 a.m. and subsequently arrested the occupants of a red Fiat Punto."

Very little about Kim Kardashian is real.

Her televised fights are scripted, her engagement was filmed by a camera crew, her Tweets and Facebook posts are paid for by sponsors.

But it's safe to assume Kris Humphries would not have purchased a fake ring for his fiance... right? That's what Jay Leno wanted to find out last night, as he actually set Kim's 20.5 carat rock on fire as a test. (Real diamonds don't burn; a cubic zirconia will catch flame.)

What happened? Did Kim make you believe she wasn't in on this stunt? Watch the video below.

Clear your schedules, Twihards, and look out, San Diego, residents!

Summit Entertainment has announced that Breaking Dawn will be featured at Comic-Con next month. While specific cast member names have not been announced, it's safe to assume Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, at least, will show up at the annual event.

The panel will take place on Thursday morning, July 21. Those in attendance can look forward to new footage from the film, along with a Q&A session with director Bill Condon.

It's definitely over for Crystal Harris and Hugh Hefner.

The Playboy founder acknowledged via Twitter yesterday that his 25-year old fiancee walked out on him five days prior to their wedding, and now Harris has also confirmed the split.

"After much deep reflection and thought, I have decided to end my engagement with Hef," Harris said in a statement. "I have the utmost respect for Hef and wish him the best going forward."

So, why did Crystal make this decision, aside from the obvious (dude is REALLY old!)? Sources have linked her to Jordan McGraw, but Harris' rep says this chatter is a "complete fabrication."

Instead, according to various insiders, the problems came down to money and music. TMZ quotes those in the know as saying Harris was annoyed by her "couple hundred dollar" per week allowance, and felt like she didn't have the freedom necessary to pursue a singing career.

It's unclear how this could be the case, though. Aren't 85-year olds asleep by six every night?

LeBron James was in for a long postseason before he stepped to the microphone for a postgame press conference, following his team's NBA Finals elimination at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks Sunday night.

The supposedly best player in basketball had been reduced to a passive spectator during the series, averaging nine points fewer per game than he did during the regular season.

Asked about the celebratory reaction of his critics to such poor play, James gave an answer that sounded like he was looking down on all basketball fans.

But James said today that he was misunderstood.

"I was saying at the end of the day this season is over and - with all hatred - everyone else has to move on with their lives, good or bad. I do, too.

"It wasn't saying I'm superior or better than anyone else, any man or woman on this planet, I'm not," said the underachieving star. "I would never every look at myself bigger than anyone who watched our game. It may have come off wrong but that wasn't my intent."

We'll buy that. But we're still psyched the arrogant Heat lost to the Mavs. How about you?

Shaquille O'Neal retired from the NBA this month. Considering the superstar's charisma and love of attention, anyone who has followed his career can't help but wonder: What will he do next?

Now, however, we find ourselves asking: What the heck did he do before? Specifically, on the night of February 11, 2008?

Derek Lowe Mug Shot

TMZ has broken what could be a mammoth story, detailing the arrest of seven gang members who are accused of kidnapping a man named Robert Ross on that date.

Law enforcement officials report that Ladell Rowles - a member of the Main Street Mafia Crip and a friend of O'Neal's - led the group, drawing guns on Ross outside a convenience store, ordering him to drive them to Rowles' house and then pistol whipping him until he turned over a sex tape of Shaquille and a mistress, allegedly filmed when O'Neal was married.

Every now and then, The View panelists actually engage in an interesting discussion.

Such was the case when the topic of Tracy Morgan, his recent anti-gay rant on stage and subsequent apology came up this week on the talk show.

Whoopi Goldberg didn't defend Morgan's specific outburst, but did speak from experience as a comedian when she said this stuff just happens occasionally on stage: "Sometimes we step in it and it’s bad, and this is one of those times... when a comic has gone over the line and realized it. Not just because people told him, but because he realized it."

Sherri Shepherd, who recurs opposite Morgan on 30 Rock as his character's wife, said a working actor must also represent his show at all times.

And Elisabeth Hasselbeck actually chimed in with a good question: Do the standards for a comedian change in this Internet age, when he/she must be aware that his/her audience expands beyond those in the audience? Should it?

Slade Smiley is sick of the accusations.

The boyfriend of Gretchen Rossi is the father of 10-year-old Grayson Arroyo-Smiley, who has been diagnosed with diffuse fibrillary astrocytoma, a type of brain cancer. As of February, court documents showed that Smiley owed his ex-wife $139,000 in child support payments, prompting to Tamra Barney to label Slade as a deadbeat dad.

But Smiley has provided forms to E! News that prove his responsibilities are now being met, and he's lashing out at anyone who says otherwise.
