I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

He's not as well known as Daniel Radcliffe or Emma Watson, but he's played as critical a role in the Harry Potter franchise as anyone.

So, how does Christopher Columbus - the director of the first two installments, and producer of the third - feel about the conclusion of this series, which officially gets underway with the Friday release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?

It's "surreal," Columbus told our friends at Movie Fanatic.

"People say, well did you know when you were casting these kids that it would be such a success? No," he says. "We had no idea and we never knew that they would age so well. There’s certain younger actors, who after the second or third film, you would never want to put them in another film. In this Harry Potter world, for some reason, we had this incredibly blessed cast of all these young kids who became great actors and who maintain some kind of movie star charisma."

Kanye West isn't exactly known as the most magnanimous man in Hollywood. His Tweets are epic, his concert rants controversial.

But Justin Bieber has worked with the rapper and said of Kanye in a recent interview with hip-hop magazine XXL: "He's not really an asshole like everyone makes him out to be."

Whoa. Dropping the A-bomb! Justin must be serious.

Granted, Bieber admits, West "can do bad things" and, yes, he can "make bad decisions." Overall, though? "He's really generally a good guy," Bieber said of the artist with whom he collaborated on "Runaway Love."

Give the Biebs credit - or scoff at his decisions - for being unafraid to align himself with stars who don't fit his squeaky clean image. There's Kanye here. And then there's the duet he produced with Chris Brown.

Well, that didn't take long.

Just hours after Demi Lovato debuted the single "Skyscraper" on Ryan Seacrest's radio program - and also touched on a number of personal issues - the track shot to number-one on iTunes. Tweeted the shocked star:

“WOW!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! WE DID IT!!!!!!!! #1 on iTUNES!!!!!!!! MY #LOVATICS ARE INCREDIBLE!!!!!! #SKYSCAPER”

Later in the day, the term “Congrats Demi” became a trend on Twitter, giving the singer something else to write about:

“AWW!! Congrats Demi is a TT?! THANK YOU!!! But this moment is for all of us to share… Love you all. Wow.”

Safe to say this is quite the impressive return to the music business for someone whose career was in question just a few months ago. Way to go, Demi!

Ryan Reynolds has done it.

After splitting from Scarlett Johansson, it seemed impossible for the Green Lantern star to go anywhere but down in his dating life. Enter one of the few Hollywood hotties who can compete with Johansson: Charlize Theron.

They "have been dating - for months!" a source tells Us Weekly. "They're exclusive, and it's very hush-hush."

This seems about right, doesn't it?

A witness spotted Reynolds' motorcycle outside Theron's house on June 5, but another insider says fans shouldn't expect to see the alleged couple holding hands on the red carpet any time soon.

"She won't go to an event with him. That's not her style."

After nine years of dating, Theron broke up with Stuart Townsend last year. Reynolds, meanwhile, has been falsely linked with Sandra Bullock since his marriage fell apart.

We're very confused.

Yesterday, news broke that a Jasmine Waltz sex tape would soon hit the market. But the former David Arquette (and Ryan Seacrest... and Chris Pine... and Jesse McCartney) lover said she was "absolutely shocked" by the development.

Jasmine Waltz Takes Banana Deep

This is way too easy.

Now, however, sources confirm to TMZ that Waltz and her manager met with Vivid Entertainment last year and actually signed a contract. It stipulated that Jasmine could pick her own "male talent" and would be paid $60,000 up front, along with 25% of the "back end" profits.

But the deal fell apart and, somehow, someway, a supposedly private video of Waltz and someone she claims to be an ex-boyfriend has leaked online. It's a shocking situation, akin to learning that Keeping Up with the Kardashians actually scripts its storylines.

The police record of former Cowboys star Michael Irvin is as decorated as this Hall of Famer's resume. He's been busted for numerous alleged crimes, including drug possession and sexual assault.

This month, though, the controversial ex-wide receiver covers Out and wonders if his sordid behavior was related to living with his gay, late brother, Vaughn.

"Maybe some of the issues I’ve had with so many women, just bringing women around so everybody can see, maybe that’s the residual of the fear I had that if my brother is wearing ladies’ clothes, am I going to be doing that? Is it genetic?” Irvin says in the article. “I’m certainly not making excuses for my bad decisions. But I had to dive inside of me to find out why am I making these decisions, and that came up.”

Demi Lovato premiered the single "Skyscraper" today on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. That was her big move professionally.

Personally, though, the 18-year old gave fans an open look into the struggles over the last few months, which landed her in rehab and caused her to admit that she's bipolar.

“I just had so much growing up to do... I ended up doing things that I regret to this day," Lovato said about the inner turmoil that led to her attacking dancer Alex Welch.

Nicki Minaj says she was struck in the face by a male acquaintance yesterday. But the artist does not want to press any charges. Here's what went down:

Minaj and an unidentified man were allegedly arguing poolside at the Palomar Hotel in Dallas. As the verbal sparring intensified, the man left for his hotel room, the singer told an employee to call the cops and then she followed the man back inside.

Once there, she says he hit her in the lower lip.

When the police arrived, Minaj explained what happened but said she did not want to press charges. She added that the opponent was not her boyfriend.

Nicki faced a very different kind of tragedy earlier this month: her cousin was murdered.

UPDATE: Police reports indicate the man with whom Nicki tussled is manager Safaree Samuels. He reportedly opened a gash across her lip with a suitcase while the two fought over it.
