I am a senior staff writer at THG and a big fan of Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Robert Pattinson. I believe Kim Kardashian is bad for society, but great for attention, and that The Real Housewives should all be banned from existence.

For its annual Sportsman of the Year honor, Sports Illustrated simply could not choose between a pair of iconic coaches.

Therefore, both Pat Summitt and Mike Krzyzewski have been recognized by the magazine, with the University of Tennessee Women's Basketball Coach and the Duke University Men's Basketball Coach covering the latest issue of the publication:

2011 Sportswoman and Sportsman of the Year

Last month, Coach K set the all-time Division I mark for coaching victories, less than two years after leading Duke to yet another national title.

Summitt, meanwhile, put her stamp on 2011 in a more personal way: in August, she announced that she'd continue her legendary coaching career despite a diagnosis of early-onset dementia.

Krzyzewski and Summitt join John Wooden and Dean Smith as the only coaches to receive this award from Sports Illustrated. They'll be honored with a banquet in New York City tomorrow night.

Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus have very different sounds (country vs. pop); different looks (blonde vs. brunette); and different philosophies on where they stand as celebrities.

Cyrus - who most recently came under fire for making a joke about marijuana - has made it clear that she just wants to be a typical teenager whose occupation happens to make her rich and famous.

“My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act because I’m still figuring that out myself,” Miley told Harper’s Bazaar a few months ago. “To take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not.”

Swift, conversely, is happy to embrace her status as a role model. She understands it comes with the territory.

At the Billboard Women of the Year Awards on Friday, Taylor referenced Faith Hill in an interview with Katie Couric, saying:

“For me, when Faith Hill performed on an awards show, everything mattered... everything she said said, did, wore I tried to copy it. That’s what little girls do, so there is a big responsibility and I take it very seriously.”

Two artists. Two contrasting points of view. On whose side do you fall? Do you believe Taylor and Miley are role models and should act as such?

Willow Smith has enjoyed an incredibly successful 2011, sky-rocketing to fame with singles such as "Whip My Hair" and "21st Century Girl."

But Will and Jada's 11-year old daughter is only first getting started. She announced the release date over the weekend for her self-titled, debut album: fans can look for it on April 3.

What do you think? Will you purchase Willow's album?

Demi Lovato came full circle over the weekend.

A year after spending the 2010 holiday season at Timberline Knolls, the residential treatment center that helped the singer deal with issues stemming from her bipolarity, Lovato returned to the facility as a guest speaker on Sunday.

"Wow what an inspiring day... Many tears were shed and many memories were brought back," Demi Tweeted, adding that she was "honored" to speak with "beautiful women fighting their inner demons" throughout the afternoon.

Lovato - who performed Saturday night at Chicago's Rosemont Theatre, as shown above - concluded her message with:

"Please say a prayer for all of those struggling with eating disorders, self harm, mood disorders, and substance abuse."

Note to Farrah Abraham: stick to being a bad teen mom. Because you make a really awful Twitter combatant.

Over the weekend, this MTV reality star randomly got into a war of online words with Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, taking the couple to task for having a second baby out of wedlock and comparing their situation to that of various single parents on Teen Mom... nevermind Kourtney and Scott's age, stable relationship and financial well-being.

Now, in light of the backlash against her critique - seriously, Farrah, it takes A LOT to force people on to the side of the Kardashians. Well done! - Abraham has Tweeted a defense of her viewpoint, writing:

4 all who misunderstood: regards to kourtney K.~ I hope she takes her relationship w/her boyfriend more serious 4 their children-takecare.

Okay. Whatever. Case closed, right? Not quite.

Brooke Mueller got arrested on charges of cocaine possession and assault on Friday night, as details of her illegal evening in Aspen, Colorado are still leaking out.

But while we don't know who Charlie Sheen's ex-wife allegedly beat on, nor we do know the volume of drugs reportedly on her person, surveillance footage uncovered by TMZ does prove one thing: Mueller had herself some serious fun before the cops arrived.

The website claims this video was shot just moments before the police showed up at the nightclub and booked Brooke on the aforementioned counts. She is currently free on $11,000 bond.

Drew Ryniewicz was eliminated from The X Factor on Thursday night, a result that left Simon Cowell clearly angry at his fellow panelists for voting off one of his charges.

But Simon's wrath is nothing compared to the words left for Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger by fans of Ryniewicz on Facebook.

Among the passionate, frightening, misguided messages posted by Drew supporters over the last few days:

  • "F**K you paula you dumb c**t you voted off the most talented person on your f**king show. i hope you die you DUMB B***H."
  • "I hope you die, you selfish----------"
  • "@NicoleScherzy @paulaabdul go die"

These folks would be well-served to heed the words of Drew herself in this interview: she made it all the way to the final seven. That's pretty darn impressive, and she has many bright years ahead of her. Chill, people.

  1. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1: $16.9 mil
  2. The Muppets: $11.2 mil

Tameka Foster is intent on proving that Usher is an unfit father.

The singer's ex-wife filed papers in court last week that allege a number of indiscretions by Usher, most of them based on the way he has treated Tameka, not the way he has been toward his two sons.

But now Foster is raising the accusatory ante, demanding a judge force Usher to take a drug test ASAP because she believes he's been popping pills around the pair's children. Usher has refused to take this bait so far, deeming his ex's claims to be "frivolous and unfounded," merely meant to "harass and embarrass" the artist.

As a result, lawyers are now involved and Tameka's side is urging the legal system to act quickly, lest Usher have the chance to "cleanse" his body of all foreign substances.

We'll see how this turns out, but right now it's clear Usher did the right thing by cleaning his life of Tameka, isn't it?

In the wake of both sexual harassment and infidelity allegations, Republication Presidential nominee Herman Cain suspended his campaign this afternoon, effectively ending his bid for the White House in 2012.

"As of today, with a lot of prayer and soul searching, I am suspending my presidential campaign," Cain said at an Atlanta rally, vowing that "I am not going to be silenced and I am not going away."

Cain cited the "continued distraction" of chatter over Ginger White's claim that she carried on a 13-year affair - during which Cain supposedly showered her with gifts and financial help - with the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza as the basis for his decision.
