The Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles movie has come under a ton of internet scrutiny since the project was announced.

While the film was originally rumored to ditch the "mutant" origin story and instead make the turtles from an alien planet, a return to the full Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title suggests that will not ultimately be the case.

What will be the case, however, is that Megan Fox is in it. As April O'Neil.

And now, William Fichtner has revealed that he will star as Shredder, the traditionally Japanese villain.

Shredder TMNT

Of course, it's nearly impossible to satisfy hardcore fans while adapting a classic property (which makes one wonder: why is it done so incredibly often?). TMNT fans have already had a lot of issues with the reboot, and the fact that Shredder will not be Japanese could only make it worse.

Christopher Nolan is one of those directors who has his guys and sticks with them.

Michael Caine, Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Marion Cotillard have all appeared in multiple Nolan films.

But the latest actor to join the cast of his new film Interstellar is someone who has never worked with Nolan before: Casey Affleck.

Ben and Casey Affleck

Affleck joins Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, and the aforementioned Caine in the excellent cast.

While few plot details have been revealed, the film is described as "a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.”

Production is expected to begin late this year, with a release date set for November 7, 2014.

We've been wondering what kind of tone Kenneth Branagh's live-action Cinderella would take.

With the announcement that Helena Bonham Carter has joined the cast, it's looking like it will be a fantastical epic in the vein of Bonham Carter's other fairy tale movie, Alice in Wonderland.

Of course Bonham Carter can also play gritty, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Bonham Carter will play the Fairy Godmother, alongside Lilly James as Cinderella and Cate Blanchett as the Evil Stepmother.

Richard Madden plays Prince Charming, with Holliday Granger and Sophia McShera in talks for the Evil Stepsisters.

Cinderella is expected to begin filming this fall.

Drinking Buddies is a new romantic comedy from mumblecore pioneer Joe Swamberg, set in a Chicago microbrewery.

Olivia Wilde and Jake Johnson star as two co-workers at the brewery with an unspoken attraction to each other, despite each being in serious relationships.

When the two couples take a trip to the woods, the unspoken comes to the forefront.

Check out the first Drinking Buddies trailer, which looks great:

Robert Downey, Jr. gave us a real scare there for a little while, talkin' bout "I want to stop playing super heroes."

Well, it seems that Disney and Marvel Studios convinced him otherwise. I wonder how they did it!? (he asks, holding up a sack of money)

Sorry, the cynical side of me always pops out at times like this. But we should all actually be excited that Downey will play Iron Man in The Avengers 2 and 3 as per a new two-picture deal, because he is definitely the heart of that franchise.

Lookin Blue

Still, the news seems to suggest that Downey is done with Iron Man movies, which means that Disney will have to deal with his departure relatively soon.

They could recast the character, reboot the series, or just kill Stark off. Our guess is that however they decide Downey should part the role, they will address it in Iron Man 3.

A Poltergeist remake? It's heeeere!

Okay, well it's not here yet. But it's coming. And who could resist that reference?

MGM and 20th Century Fox are teaming up to produce and distribute a remake of the classic horror film, which will begin shooting this fall.

Poltergeist Poster

Gil Kenan will direct the film, with David Lindsay-Abaire, who wrote Oz the Great and Powerful, providing the script.

The film will reportedly be a "revisionist take on the classic horror film." It will follow a struggling family that moves into a new home, where their daughter is taken by an evil spirit.

Do you think a Poltergeist remake could be good? Or should Hollywood keep their hands off the things you love?

Gargamel is such a jerk!

Creating a new species of sentient beings just to steal the secret to the magical Smurf essence. That's some messed up stuff with very shaky ethical implications.

See what I mean in the new The Smurfs 2 trailer:

Neil Patrick Harris returns as Pat, with Hank Azaria as Gargamel.

Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, Fred Armisen, Alan Cumming, Anton Yelchin, George Lopez, John Oliver, Mario Lopez, and Jimmy Kimmel lend their voices to the Smurfs, with Christina Ricci and J.B. Smoove as the Naughties, Vexy and Hackus.

The Smurfs hits theaters July 31.
