Lynda Bellingham, a beloved English actress best known for roles in Loose Women and All Creatures Great And Small, has died at the age of 66.
She was first diagnosed with colon cancer in July 2013, after which the disease spread to her lungs and liver. She eventually succumbed to the disease.
In August 2014, Lynda decided to cease treatment for her cancer in order to “limit the suffering her family would have to endure,” according to reports.
In a statement, Lynda’s agent Sue Latimer confirmed her passing, saying, “Lynda died peacefully in her husband’s arms yesterday at a London hospital.
“Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff for their tremendous care and support. Actor, writer and presenter ... to the end Lynda was a consummate professional.”
In 1948, Lynda was given up for adoption when she was just four months old after her mother’s strict, religious family disapproved of her being born out of wedlock.
