From The Hills to the New York Times bestseller list?

Maybe that's pushing it, but the MTV reality star's name is officially gracing the cover of her first novel, L.A. Candy, which hits stores June 16.

Lauren Conrad Hairstyle

Conrad's publishing debut is a fictional story about a 19-year-old girl named Jane Roberts who has not-so-subtle similarities to the author.

"Roberts can't wait to start living it up," the official book synopsis says. "She may be in L.A. for an internship, but Jane plans to play as hard as she works and has enlisted her BFF Scarlett to join in the fun."

Wonder when Scarlett stabs Jane in the back repeatedly, gets a loser boyfriend and has kinds of plastic surgery. Yes, Heidi Montag, we went there.

Conrad's novel is said to be the first in a three-book series about the protagonist, so there's room for all kinds of creative liberties in the new volumes.

In the novel, the two are approached by a producer who wants them to be on a reality version of Sex and the City. It's like art imitating life imitating art!

The book is about "what it's like to come of age in Hollywood while starring in a reality TV show, written by a girl, Lauren Conrad, who has experienced it all firsthand," the synopsis of L.A. Candy says, and it's hard to dispute that.

We just hope that whomever LC got to ghostwrite this work of fiction took the time to say "like" and "seriously" every other word.

When Britney Spears takes the stage at the New Orleans Arena on Tuesday, March 3 - the opening night of her Circus tour - the stakes will never be higher.

Singles such as the title track, "Womanizer" and "If U Seek Amy" are burning up the radio, but if Spears can't hack it live, she'll never be truly back on top.

After two years of personal drama, this concert tour will either make or break the professional comeback Larry Rudolph has been orchestrating since last fall.

According to sources, Britney Spears, 27, who left Friday for Louisiana, has been hard at work preparing for the show, which will feature her signature sexy dance moves, a stage filled with three circus rings, and magic tricks.

"She's pretty determined," a friend told celeb news mag People. "She missed singing and performing and the freedom of that. It gives her an escape and it's what she loves to do, so she's definitely thankful to be doing that again."

Britney Spears Then and Now

Although the star seemed to be back to her old form when she sang "Womanizer" on Good Morning America in December, the concert will be her biggest since her epic meltdown at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards (above, right).

As for Spears' last tour, waaaaaaay back in 2004, that was canceled after the singer injured her knee during a video shoot. She spent her newfound free time with then-boyfriend Kevin Federline; they were engaged that summer.

Bottom line? Girl is way past her musical prime (see above, left). Can she recapture the live magic? And will fans still turn out in droves to support her?

So far, the buzz for the upcoming 31-city outing is strong. Tickets have sold well, with some shows already sold out even in these tough economic times.

Of course, some interest may stem from the sideshow that is her personal life.

Wednesday, her father and conservator, Jamie Spears, was granted an extension on a restraining order against his daughter's ex-manager Sam Lutfi.

Molly Malaney may not have made headlines at the onset of The Bachelor season (well, except on this site), but she caught Jason Mesnick's eye from day one.

The Michigan native has the whole package: She's athletic, pretty, funny, laid back, and surprisingly un-crazy for a girl who would try out for The Bachelor.

No wonder she and Jason have such a connection.

She's made it to the finals of this 13th season of the show, and while she may be the underdog to Melissa Rycroft going into the finale, don't count her out.

Especially not if these Bachelor spoilers are to be believed.

Rumors of a "shocking" ending and an "intimate" special afterwards have the show's fans abuzz. Whatever happens, we'll be brimming with anticipation Monday.

In honor of the season finale, here's a tribute to Molly Malaney.

From the moment The Bachelor star Jason Mesnick first laid eyes on Melissa Rycroft, he was smitten with the gorgeous former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.

The more we got to know this eligible bachelorette - seeing her open up and show her emotional, vulnerable side - the more she endeared herself to fans.

It's no surprise Jason is flat-out giddy whenever she's around...

Melissa Rycroft and Jason Mesnick

She's made it to the final two on this epic season of the reality show, and by every indication, Melissa Rycroft has a good chance of winning the final rose.

Whether she ends up with Jason after that is another story.

The Bachelor spoilers predicting a shocking ending will either be very right or very wrong. But the dust will settle Monday, and we'll be there watching.

In honor of the season finale, here's a (gorgeous) photo tribute to Melissa.

Michelle Obama's first official portrait as First Lady of the United States (and unofficial First Lady of Fashion) was released by the White House on Friday.

She appears in a Michael Kors black shift dress and pearls in the photo, taken in the famed home's "Blue Room." Here she is looking stunning as always:

In an interview with Andre Leon Talley for the new issue of Vogue, she opens up about helping Sasha, 7, and Malia, 10, adjust to life in Washington, D.C.

"I'm going to try to take them to school every morning - as much as I can," she says. "But there's also going to be a measure of independence. And obviously there will be times where I won't be able to drop them off at all."

"I always like to be a presence in my kids' school," the First Mom added. "I want to know their teachers; I want to know the other parents."

Looking remarkably skinny but still unable to carry a tune, Jessica Simpson continued her country music tour in Salt Lake City, Utah, Thursday night.

Fortunately for the star, she's feeling upbeat.

Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson Picture

"I'm so lucky to be here," the 28-year-old told fans, adding that prayer had helped her sustain her confidence after she faced criticism for apparently packing on the pounds... which may have just been an illusion caused by mom jeans.

She also gushed about her beau, Tony Romo.

"The thing that makes us lucky is being in love...I did find that unexpected kind of love," Simpson said, explaining that she developed a crush on Romo after her pimp Joe decided it would be a good fit for her watching him on ESPN.

No comment on whether Tony Romo railed some chick in her bed while she was on the road for one of these horrible concerts, as has been rumored.

The 45-minute set, at the EnergySolutions Arena, included hits "With You" and "Come on Over," which Jessica Simpson forgot the words to - again.

"I always do that right there," she said while laughing. "Sorry!"

What a hack. Simpson also spoke about a "complete butthead" ex - but declined to name names - before breaking into her song, "Remember That."

Our guess? John Mayer. We would have chosen the word douchebag, however.

Britney Spears has just released the art work for her risque new single, "If U Seek Amy." The simple design, highlighting those gorgeous brown eyes of our girl, is a little ironic for a raunchy song that has plenty of parents up in arms.

Why is it controversial, you ask? Say the title 10 times fast. Preferably rather loudly, in a public place. You'll figure it out then if you haven't already.

Click here to check out behind the scenes pics from the filming of the "If U Seek Amy" video, then follow the jump below to view an exciting video of the song.

This is not the real music video, mind you, just an old video for her song "Do Something" with the musical brilliance that is "If U Seek Amy" dubbed over it.

It actually syncs up pretty well! Guess that's not a shock, as most Britney Spears songs sound similar, and her videos all involve her writhing suggestively ...

Rumors that Jason Mesnick will choose Melissa Rycroft on next Monday's The Bachelor season finale only to dump her during the "After the Final Rose" special in favor of runner-up Molly Malaney have sparked controversy among fans.

This Bachelor spoiler bombshell, courtesy of a reality TV blogger claiming to be in the know, is now giving way to a slightly different iteration.

Rather that hatching this elaborate scheme with ABC from the beginning to create the most possible drama - a charge host Chris Harrison vehemently denies - the new theory is that Jason simply changed his mind and swapped girls on his own.

According to message boards on Reality Steve's blog - which first broke The Bachelor spoilers in question - a 67-year-old ex-ABC employee who knows people involved with the show claims Melissa's actions resulted in Jason's change of heart.

Melissa and Jason

Jason Mesnick's "hometown date" with Melissa raised red flags.

The insider says Jason Mesnick proposes to Melissa Rycroft in New Zealand and she accepts. That much has been rumored since the first promo of the year.

However, according to this Bachelor insider, the trouble begins when they return to the hotel and she calls her folks to break the engagement news.

Melissa's parents, of course, were conspicuously absent from the Bachelor hometown dates episode. Melissa said that they were private people not comfortable being on camera. Even stranger, none of Melissa's friends had ever met them either.
