What would the Fourth of July be without a festive parade ... and Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag parading around like absolute tools while taking part in it.

The Hills' gruesome twosome took part in the 32nd annual Palisades 10K Charity run on our nation's 233rd birthday, raising money for a good cause:

Themselves.

Here's the plastic pair showing off their true stars and stripes ...

Spencer and Heidi on July 4

If this doesn't get you in the patriotic spirit, what will?

Click to enlarge more pics of Spencer in a full Uncle Sam outfit and Heidi Montag in a similarly patriotic hat and bikini top showcasing her giant fake rack. It's certainly an appropriate photo gallery. Only in America would these two be famous ...

U.S. Representative Peter King (R-N.Y.) says Michael Jackson was a “pervert” and is calling on society to stop “glorifying” the late entertainer.

King believes the singer - whom he called a “low-life” - is being unfairly glorified in the days after Jackson's death on June 25 at the age of 50.

Meanwhile, according to this member of Congress, our pathetic society is "ignoring the efforts" of teachers, police officers, firefighters and veterans.

King claims the “day in and day out” coverage of Jackson’s death is “too politically correct” and calls on America to “knock out the psychobabble.”

“He was a pervert, a child molester; he was a pedophile. To be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country?"

While King does raise a somewhat valid point of Michael's troubled last 10-15 years rarely being mentioned in the wake of his death, what more is there to say?

Everyone knows Michael had issues in his past, and no one is denying them. Should we refrain from honoring the legacy of a legend simply for that reason?

His remarks are also flawed for two reasons:

  1. The media covering Michael Jackson isn't related to coverage of our men and women in uniform, who were honored nationally this past weekend. Morons capitalizing on their sacrifice for a good sound bite are also a problem.
  2. Michael Jackson was unquestionably a strange, disturbed individual with myriad personal problems, but was not actually convicted of any charges, nor was he determined to be a pedophile by psychologists in his 2005 trial.

Check out the video below and see what you think ...

Are Peter King's comments on Michael out of line?

The conspiracy theorists out there just pulled an Andy Samberg over this.

In the below clip, excerpted from CNN's recent tour of Neverland Ranch, the infamous home of Michael Jackson for many years, Michael's ghost made a surprise appearance and his official afterlife debut on the network's Larry King Live.

That, or someone walked by a window and cast a shadow. Hard to tell.

Larry King was interviewing Jermaine Jackson on his talk show when Michael apparently decided to stop by as well. No word on how Elvis or Tupac are doing, though.

While Sarah Palin's resignation as Governor of Alaska continues to be debated by pundits and casual observers alike, Palin wants to "set the record straight."

Sort of. By no means is any record actually set straight here.

She is asking her supporters to remain supportive, though.

"Critics are spinning, so hang in there as they feed false info on the right decision made as I enter last yr (sic) in office to not run again," Palin Twittered.

That's good to know. Whatever it means.

Some of Palin's other Tweets over the weekend were personal, including about her husband Todd, who had gone to work the family's commercial fishing grounds.

She said: "slaying salmon and working the kids. Anxious to join 'em."

She'll have plenty of time to soon, having ditched out on her state's highest office because it no longer suited her personal ambitions. We're just saying.

Other Tweets were fiercely political. The Washington Post hinted that an ethics investigation into the Palins' conduct may be launched in the near future.

"See letter from my attorney [Thomas V. Van Flein] on baseless allegations of past 24hrs," the mother of five and soon-to-be former Governor said.

The lawyer's letter, posted by Fox News, reads:

"Several unscrupulous people have asserted false and defamatory allegations that the 'real' reasons for Governor Sarah Palin's resignation stem from an alleged criminal investigation pertaining to the construction of the Wasilla Sports Complex."

"This canard was first floated by Democrat operatives in September 2008 during the national campaign and followed up by sympathetic Democratic writers. It was easily rebutted then as one of many fabrications about Sarah Palin."

"Just as power abhors a vacuum, modern journalism apparently abhors any type of due diligence and fact checking before scurrilous allegations are repeated as fact."

As for why Palin quit? Maybe she'll Tweet about that at some point. But for now, "I head 2 West AK villages today, look forward to their busy comm fish activity!"

Communal? Committed? Commercial? OMG, can't w8 for the next Tweet 2 find out! In the meantime, follow the link for our gallery of Sarah Palin pictures!

Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor who was at Michael Jackson's home the day he died did not give Jackson OxyContin or Demerol that day, according to his attorney.

His lawyer, Edward Chernoff, wouldn't make the same statement about the powerful anesthesia, Propofol, that was found at the late star's home, however.

Law enforcement sources say the information Dr. Murray gave police regarding drugs at Jackson's home was enough for cops to secure a warrant from a judge.

This alone is a significant development, as a search warrant can only be issued if there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed.

The facts: When police searched the home, they found Propofol. It was specifically labeled Propofol. There was no indication it had been prescribed to anyone.

Chernoff reiterated earlier claims that his client did not give Demerol or OxyContin to Jackson the day he died. But he would not take the same stand on Propofol.

Michael Jackson (1958-2009)

Chernoff told TMZ when asked for comment on the subject, "I have no statement on whether the doctor prescribed or administered Propofol," adding, "We're confident whatever the doctor prescribed did not kill Michael Jackson."

Police obtained a search warrant the day after Michael Jackson died. Another warrant was issued two days after Dr. Conrad Murray's interview with LAPD investigators, and that's the one that led cops to the Propofol discovery.

A second warrant may have been needed if the first covered prescription medications only. DEA and LAPD officials are trying to determine how the Propofol - a drug that should never be administered outside a hospital - ended up in MJ's home.

Jackson's medical records and billing info may be the key to unraveling the mystery of who prescribed what to him and when - and holding the doctors responsible.

Looking fairly lucid and sober (well, at least for her) and dressing fairly conservatively (well, at least for her), Lindsay Lohan went shopping with friends (which apparently she has) in Brentwood and Malibu, Calif., over the holiday weekend.

As she stepped out of a car, the one-time actress looked kind of rough, although she did stun celebrity gossip sites by covering up her genitals for once in her life.

Isn't it so wonderful to watch children learning?

Fire Crotch Shot?!

NO (FIRE) CROTCH SHOT HERE: Just give it until Thursday.

Lindsay, who got back together with Samantha Ronson for the 142nd time last week, also marked her 23rd birthday on July 2. The train wreck hasn't had many notable achievements in ... well, as long as we can remember. But she's still around!

Britney Spears looks a bit out of it as she arrived in Paris July 4. Britney visited Notre Dame in the famed European City, where she's in town for her Circus tour.

No word on whether Britney's agent-boyfriend, Jason Trawick, made the trip with her. Either way, hopefully our girl was able to wake up prior to the show ...

Arriving in Paris

Cameron Diaz paid tribute to Madonna on the cover of V Magazine.

On July 4, the reigning queen of pop paid tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, with a musical tribute to the star at the O2 arena in London.

In the same arena where Jackson, who died of cardiac arrest June 25, was set to stage his This Is It! series of concerts beginning July 13, Madonna sang "Holiday" while a Jackson impersonator took the stage, sporting a sequin-embellished jacket.

An image of a young Michael Jackson was projected in the background. The impersonator then moonwalked to his hit "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'."

Madonna said, "Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known." She and her dancers donned jeweled gloves on their right hands to honor MJ for their final dance. Check out the video of Madonna's tribute below ...

Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair, who made three Pro Bowls and led the Tennessee Titans within one yard of forcing overtime in Super Bowl XXXIV, was shot and killed July 4 along with his rumored lover, Sahel Kazemi.

His wife, Mechelle McNair, may have only learned about the gridiron star's affair with the gorgeous young woman after the clandestine couple's grisly deaths.

Nashville police confirmed that Steve McNair, 36, was killed by four bullets at close range, two of which hit him in the head, and ruled his death a homicide.

His lover, Sahel Kazemi, 20, died of a single gunshot wound from the same semiautomatic weapon found on the floor under her body, police also said.

Sahel Kazemi and Steve McNair, a dad of four boys, were dating for several months, friends told cops; McNair apparently kept the affair a secret from his wife Mechelle.

Police stopped short of calling the slayings a murder-suicide carried out by Kazemi, but said they are not looking for any suspects. Cops ruled McNair's death a homicide and have not ruled on Kazemi's death, citing the need for more tests.

Sahel Kazemi and Steve McNair, a dad of four boys, were dating for several months, friends told cops; McNair apparently kept the affair a secret from his wife.

Kazemi's aunt Sepideh Salmani told The Tennessean newspaper that after they met a sports bar where she was waitressing, "They exchanged phone numbers, and started dating from there." They also recently went on a tropical vacation together.

Follow the jump for more on this story, including how the secret couple met, and pictures of Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi together ...
