In the narrative, it was revealed that Jess was sequestered due to jury duty, but it’s doubtful the writers will be able to go that route this time.
It has been revealed that the cast and crew have been informed of the pregnancy, but it’s unclear what this will mean for production on a potential seventh season.

Megan Fox’s character, Reagan, was an instant hit with viewers and she has appeared sporadically on the show ever since her debut.
Her character was like a funnier version of Jess. Yeah, we know, Jess is hilarious, too.
Maybe they can make her a more regular fixture, or something.
There’s no denying that the show feels off without Deschanel, but we don’t even know how far along she is in her pregnancy at this stage.
There’s every possibility they could go straight into production on Season 7 to get some episodes in the can, but that would involve the show being picked up for more episodes.
Ratings are down around 20 percent this year, but the show still packs a punch in delayed viewing and Fox has been pretty vocal about not caring about the live ratings.
Could Fox be losing both Deschanel sisters in the one year?
Quite possibly. If you recall, Emily Deschanel is one of the leads in Bones, which will be ending its 12-year-run in the Spring.
