The Voice is about to make history.
Last season on The Voice, Christina Aguilera became first female coach to claim victory on this beloved NBC singing competition.
So, how can that be topped heading into this fall?
By bringing in TWO female coaches!
Are you ready to welcome Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus?
The former spoke to People Magazine about the addition of her and her fellow artist before the publication ran the first Season 11 trailer (below).
"Two women coaches is what The Voice needs," Keys said.
"I’m looking forward to rooting people on and being here for the dreamers like me. You’re able to hear someone true for who they are, and that’s what music is."
Cyrus, meanwhile, has a message for all the sexists out there who may fear that the series will devolve into a series of cat fights:
"That’s actually Blake and Adam," she told People.
And she’s right.
Levine refers to Cyrus as a “youthful spirit” that the show has been missing, while Shelton praises her as having a terrific “ear for music.”
He adds of Keys:
"Alicia comes from a place more like a writer, a producer."
The Voice Season premieres September 19 at 8/7c on NBC.
