As previously reported, Jenelle Evans is pregnant with her third child.

The Teen Mom 2 star is expecting a baby girl with boyfriend David Eason, a development that has led to plenty of jokes and eye rolls around the Internet.

But Evans has shared something personal with Us Weekly that is not cause for mockery or derision:

She recently had a miscarriage.

Say what you want about the troubled reality star, but this a life-changing event that no human being should ever have to suffer through.

Speaking to the tabloid, Evans explained that she met with her endocrinologist in April and was alerted that her blood tests indicated that she was pregnant.

“I was really, really confused because I was seeing an endocrinologist for my health issues I’ve been having, and she told me that she did blood tests on me to check everything out," Evans says.

‘She wasn’t even trying to check for pregnancy."

Evans kept the pregnancy a secret, though the news became public knowledge in the most unexpected of ways:

Earlier this summer, she was in a car accident.

She told the police officers on scene that she was experiencing abdominal pain and that it due to the fact that she was 10 weeks along at the time.

The officers included this note in their official report and the report somehow leaked online.

Soon afterward, Evans didn’t deny the pregnancy… but instead of confirming the news, she blasted critics for their harsh words.

Days after the April appointment, meanwhile, Evans was in California for a Teen Mom 2 reunion and scheduled a meeting with The Doctors’ Dr. Peter Weiss to receive a second opinion.

After having an ultrasound conducted, a urine sample run and a blood test taken, Evans was told she was NOT pregnant after all.

Huh?

“I told my endocrinologist [about the negative results], and when I went home, my endocrinologist said, ‘Well, it looks like you had a miscarriage,’" Evans now explains.

"So actually instead of it being my period I [thought I] had, I guess [it was] a miscarriage the month before I even got pregnant.

"And that’s when everyone thought I was pregnant at first."

Following initially remaining mum on the subject, Evans shared the above Instagram photo of her and Eason this week.

She included with it a caption that confirmed her pregnancy AND her due date AND the name of her impending child.

"Time to introduce the world to our baby girl soon, Ensley Jolie Eason," she wrote. "She will be arriving Jan. 28th. We couldn’t be any happier!"

Eason, who will be Evans’ third baby daddy, also shared his excitement online, writing the following:

"I’m so happy im bout ta cry!!. I love you so much @j_evans1219 and I can’t wait to meet our baby girl Ensley Jolie Eason!!"

Evans tells Us Weekly that she and Eason have been talking about settling down at some point in the near future. They may get married.

But they were not planning on having a child right now.

How did this happen then?

Evans says she was not on birth control at that a "cheap" condom burst.

Evans is also mother to a two-year old named Kaiser, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Nathan Griffin; and a seven-year old named Jace, whom she welcomed with Andrew Lewis in 2009.

In 2010, the MTV personality forfeited custodial rights of her firstborn to her mother, Barbara Evans, who still looks after the young boy.

The two often clash over how he’s being raised and the role Evans plays in his life.

Eason is the father of a daughter named Maryssa from a previous relationship.

In the end, despite this unexpected news, Evans is making the most of it.

She’s especially psyched to have a little daughte on the way.

“I’ve got my girl now, and I’m very ecstatic, very happy to be actually decorating stuff and all girls stuff, and all my friends are like, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re going to be so spoiled!’” she says.

“Because all my friends, they just have little boys, so it’s like everyone is just so super excited for me!”

So are we.

But we just hope Evans has learned some lessons from the past and will apply them to this girls’ future.
