Donald Trump does a lot of unexpected things:

Runs for president, condemns entire countries as being full of thieves and rapists, covers his scalp with small woodland creatures….the list goes on and on.

The Donald is a wild card, is what we’re saying. We’re sure he describes as a maverick or a rebel while he’s looking in the mirror each morning and removing the boll weevil carcasses from his scalp.

But what might be the most unexpected thing about Trump is where he draws the inspiration for his defiant spirit.

Some iconoclastic leaders look to the Founding Fathers or the pioneers of the Old West. Donald just likes to see Miley get her twerk on.

Yes, in a New York Times interview promoting her gig as host of the 2015 VMAs, Miley Cyrus made a very surprising revelation about her history with Trump:

It seems Trump was a huge fan of Miley’s infamous 2013 VMA performance. In fact, he was so enamored with the twerk heard round the world that he made certain he was one of the first to speak with her after the show was over.

“I was staying at the Trump Hotel and Donald Trump literally called and said, basically, ‘I know everyone’s talking about it, but I loved it,’” Miley said. “I had no idea anyone was talking about it yet.”

Strangely, Trump seemed very interested in all things Miley around this time:

A few weeks after the VMAs, he tweeted her about her breakup with Liam Hemsworth.

“Don’t worry about Liam,” Trump tweeted in September of 2013. “You can do much better and you have plenty of time—remain strong!”

That same day, he tweeted her something about her ability to achieve “GREATNESS” because he’s Donald Trump, and of course he did.

We recently reported about Charlie Sheen wanting to be Trump’s running mate. There would be no reason for that kind of ticket, as Trump is already bringing the crazy on his own.

Now, a Trump-Cyrus campaign is something we could get behind. Legal weed for all and nipple pasties on the Statue of Liberty!
