Chris Brown is fighting mad.
But, to the singer’s credit, he’s using the legal system instead of his fists for once.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the artist has filed papers in Houston that seek to establish his paternity of one-year old daughter Royalty.
This step that would enable Brown to battle ex-lover Nia Guzman over her support and custody demands.
Ever since learning he’s the father of Royalty, Brown has been Guzman around $2,500 per month in child support, a figure he believes to be a fair amount.
But Guzman is now seeking a huge raise to $15,000 per month and Brown wants a judge to legally establish a figure that is far closer to the current amount
He also hopes a judge will set more clear custody guidelines because he claims Nia has been denying him opportunities to see his child.
Brown and his baby have actually been bonding in cute fashion via a number of adorable Instagram videos of late.
The child has allowed the public to see a very different side of Chris Brown.
But the often-violent singer cannot take the official steps he desires – in terms of custody and child support – until a court reviews and approves his filed paternity documents.
