Today in “Tell us what you really think!” news Mariah Carey positively went off on American Idol when asked about her stint on the show in a recent interview.

Mariah didn’t last very long as a judge (thanks in part to her hugely entertaining feud with Nicki Minaj), but she’s been discussing the long-running series as a result of the recent news that Idol will be coming to an end after 15 seasons.

“I mean, it’s so boring and so fake,” Mariah recently told an Australian radio show host.

“I’m sorry, I just think it’s, you know, when I say it’s fake, I mean, it’s just like, you have to make up things to say about people. Half the time, the performances are good, you just be like ‘It was good.’ You just feel like ending it there, like, ‘It’s really good.’”

Well, critiquing the performances is kind of a big part of the judges’ job, but the Elusive Chanteuse says the fakeness didn’t end there.

Ms. Carey claims the now-famous Marah-Nicki Minaj feud was an invention of the show’s producers:

“I’m not gonna get into what it was, but let’s just say I don’t think they had any intentions for us to have a good experience doing that show…pinning two females against each other wasn’t cool,” Mariah said.

“It should’ve been about the contestants instead of being about some non-existent feud that turned into like more ridiculousness and I would never want to be involved with it again. But everybody else can like it!”

“Non-existent” feud? That behind-the-scenes footage of Nicki cursing Mariah out would seem to indicate that the feud not only existed, but got quite intense at one point.

Some have suggested that Mariah’s renewed hatred of Idol may have something to do with the fact that her other rival, Jennifer Lopez, (who was recently spotted texting during Mariah’s heavily-criticized Billboard Music Awards performance) has experienced major success as a judge.

Whatever the reason, Mariah left little room for doubt when asked if she would ever return to the show:

“Hell, no! Absolutely not, that was the worst experience of my life,” she said. Like we said, she’s not exactly holding back.
