Yesterday, we reported that Kenya Moore is dating a man named James Freeman.

In fact, based on Kenya’s Instagram posts, it seems that she and Freeman (whom she met on Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker) might already be engaged!

But there’s just one problem that might keep them from walking down the aisle. Freeman is already married:

“Unfortunately, I just learned today that the man I met and fell in love with from Millionaire Matchmaker was married a week after the show aired,” Kenya wrote on Instagram.

“I am astounded and devastated to have learned of this news VIA social media as opposed to from him directly.”

Harsh. Of course, Kenya has a history of shadiness, so we weren’t exactly shocked to learn that there’s more to this story than Ms. Moore is letting on.

Radar Online is now reporting that Kenya faked her engagement, presumably to drum up some publicity and boost her public profile.

“James was on Millionaire Matchmaker in September [2014] and I met him in December. We met on Match.com and three months later we were engaged,” says Freeman’s wife, Jaimi Gregory.

“Then on Good Friday, April 3, 2015 we got married. We just knew right away that we were in love. He totally forgot he even did [Millionaire Matchmaker] and so when the commercials started airing he told me all about it.

“He said he went on two or three dates after the show aired with Kenya. He told me they just kissed and nothing else. He said she just wasn’t the right person for her, but he wished her the best.

“Kenya wrote to him saying that they should celebrate since their ratings were so high. But he told her that he had met someone and fell in love so it wasn’t appropriate for him to talk with her anymore.”

Gregory says Kenya proceeded to harass Freeman with messages about how he “destroyed her brand” by exposing her fake engagement. Freeman has reportedly stopped responding to Gregory.

Destroying her brand? Funny, that’s the same reason NeNe Leakes is suing Kenya. We guess what goes around comes around.
