That and absolutely no drama whatsoever … yeah, right. Did we fool you!?

The cast of The Real Housewives of New York City has undergone significant changes over the last few seasons.  First, the whole cast was fired.  Then, there have numerous replacement wives.

And though on last week’s Real Housewives of New York City premiere, Bethenny made it nearly impossible to stomach her whining about being “the wealthiest homeless person in Manhattan,” the chemistry (or lack thereof) of this season’s cast might be the best the franchise has seen since its origins.

The cast seems to have just the right balance of friends, frenemies, and foes.

It’s always difficult to see where the alliances lie with the ladies of New York.  But it appears the line has been drawn between the hated and the humbled.

And if anyone is hated the most in episode 2, it is Sonja Morgan.  No one likes Sonja—other than Sonja.

It is hard to blame the women of RHONYC for disliking Sonja.

When she came onto the show in season 3, she was funny and energetic.  However, this season she is a navel gazing socialite that is nearly unbearable.

For instance, while at lunch with Ramona and newest housewife, Dorinda Medley, the ladies ask the waitress for her name.

As the waitress responds, “Jennifer,” she reaches across the table to collect Sonja’s menu.

Sonja is so out of touch and self-absorbed, she mistakes the gesture for a handshake.

She extends her arm in a limp fashion as if Jennifer were to bow forward and kiss the back of her hand.

Or as Dorinda says, she "extends her hand like she is Queen Mother."

It’s almost surprising that Sonja can take a break from kissing her own ass to mistakenly think someone else wants to kiss it.

It is easy to assume Sonja is letting the fame get to her head.  And maybe she is.  However, the inauthenticity of her behavior suggests insecurity.

Sonja has been under intense legal scrutiny for many years.  Between divorce and legal issues, she has lost much of her perceived power.

Her behavior, arguably, could be compensation for the money and security she lost.

If this episode has to be broken into the hated and the humbled, Sonja is just as much hated as Ramona is humbled.

Who would have thought “Ramona is humbled” would ever be uttered on planet Earth?

Her divorce from her husband of 25 years, Mario, has taken an emotional toll on Ramona.

But she seems much more down to earth, and her eyes are not constantly bulging out of their sockets.

While visiting fellow Big Apple housewife, LuAnn de Lesseps, in the Hamptons, Ramona authentically apologizes.

The two have had their fair share of fights.  Through her own divorce, Ramona realizes that the hateful words she hurled at LuAnn  in past seasons were unnecessary.

She says, “I owe you the biggest apology” and refers to her self as “callous” and “unfeeling.”

“It wasn’t right on so many levels,” she adds.

For seven seasons, Ramona has seemed to be in constant denial. Often starting fights, talking in circles, and speaking harshly, Ramona’s had been in the center of RHONYC conflict.

This is possibly the first time Ramona has shown sincere humility and remorse.

LuAnn isn’t on Team Ramona just yet.

She accepts Ramona’s apology, but not without hesitation.

“You forgive and forget.  We’ll see,” the Countess utters.

Considering she is a countess, LuAnn is classy enough to accept Ramona’s apology.  Although she might not forget, she is more likely than any other housewife to turn the other cheek and move on.

In fact, later, during her interview, she states Ramona’s “apology was more sincere than usual.”  And she tells some of the ladies that she believes her.

There’s definitely hope for BFF status between LuAnn and Ramona.

Another ounce of humble pie comes from LuAnn.

LuAnn has drastically altered her lifestyle after splitting with boyfriend, Jacques Azoulay.

The new and humbled LuAnn sells her Hamptons mansion for a smaller, cozier home.

Normally, when I hear a RHONYC housewife talk about a “smaller home,” that same house has a guest bathroom the size of my entire house.

Her digs are absolutely nicer than your average home. However, LuAnn’s new home is actually quite humble for a house in the Hamptons featured on the show.

It appears that LuAnn might be taking steps to drop the facade and live the life she truly wants.

The episode is fight-free until Bethenny Frankel arrives late to LuAnn’s party at her new Hampton cottage.

Bethenny wants some of her gal pals to join her for brunch the next morning.

But trouble starts when she learns those same ladies are staying with Ramona at her house in the Berkshires.

In a quick, down, and dirty summary; Ramona says oh hell no, b*tch, you aren’t stealing my friends.

A fight ensues about the proper brunch etiquette for inviting friends that are staying with someone else.

“I don’t want to hang out with you,” Bethenny sharply tells Ramona.

Ramona responds, “I thought maybe you grew up over the past year.”

If I had a dime for every time I got into a fight over brunch etiquette.

As Ramona and Bethenny dispute the proper way to organize brunch, Ramona gets strangely calm.

In a voice just above a whisper, as if she is trying to soothe a child having a tantrum, Ramona tells Bethenny to calm down.

Even though Ramona seems truly changed and calmer, her attempt to pacify Bethenny is strange.

At the end of the episode, LuAnn says of Ramona, “Just when you think she is normal, she is bizarre again.”

The end of the episode leaves us wondering if Ramona is truly changed at all.

However, her behavior has been consistent over the past two episodes.  So I’m betting on the new Ramona.

Thankfully, Bethenny didn’t get much air time.  After last week’s episode, I’m still recovering from  listening to the sound of her tearful voice as she complained about her fabulous life that most of us would give up an ovary or testicle for.

This week brought out the hated and humbled.

And according to the sneak peek on Watch What Happens Live, Kelly Bensimon is going to bring back the f*cking crazy.
