After months of extreme morning sickness, constant media speculation, and the usual fashionable maternity wear, the big day is almost here.

Kate Middleton’s due date is fast approaching, and the anticipation amongst royal watchers has reached a fever pitch.

The "spare" to Prince George’s heir is expected to arrive in mid- to late-April, and the royal family has been slightly more tight-lipped this time around than they were with Kate’s first pregnancy.

It’s widely believed that Kate will have a girl, but nothing has been confirmed. What we do know is that Kate is officially done making appearances, and she may not be seen in public for several more months.

Sources tell People magazine that Kate intends to take a significantly longer maternity leave this time around so that she can enjoy watching George and the new addition bond with one another.

"She felt she came too soon last time," says one insider. "She wants to have that [family time] and enjoy it with George and the new baby."

We say take it easy, Kate. We’re sure someone else can cut the ribbons or smash the bottles of champagne on the big boats for a while.

The Duchess is currently in seclusion at her and Prince Willam’s new home at Anmer Hall. Sources say Prince George particularly loves country living and is "having great fun" at the rural palace.
