A handful of big-time celebrities have come out and made it very clear: They are on Team Zendaya.

Indeed, Zendaya Coleman finds herself in the center of an unexpected scandal this week after styling her hair in the form of dreadlocks at the 2015 Academy Awards.

In response, Giuliana Rancic awkwardly/offensively/stupidly joked on E!’s Fashion Police that the 18-year old actress "smells like patchouli oil … or maybe weed."

Zendaya immediately called Rancic out for the borderline racist remark, which prompted a Twitter apology from Rancic.

But with pressure building (Fashion Police panelist Kelly Osbourne threatened to quit the show), Rancic then issued an on-camera mea culpa for her mistake on Tuesday.

Case closed? Not quite: Rancic may get fired over the insult.

Now, with the issue of Zendaya’s dreadlocks dominating the Internet, many huge stars have come out in support of the young celebrity.

To wit, here is a look at what some have written in regard to the incident on Twitter:

Ava DuVernay: You’re beautiful, Queen. We bless the ignorant and wish them well. Onward. xo.

Kerry Washington: Well done Beautiful. XO.

Viola Davis: You are beauty personified. I celebrate you sis!

Solange Knowles: Yeah @fashionpolice been bashing my fro for years, @intouchweekly compared it to a dog…and u know what I say?

Chloe Grace Moretz: "People need to grow up, realize it’s 2015, and act like it.

Khloe Kardashian: @Zendaya you are a gorgeous, intelligent young lady! I love all that you represent! Keep empowering and shine bright!

Elsewhere, the topic was also discussed on The View yesterday, with Whoopi Goldberg saying she was not a fan of Rancic’s comments.

"If you ain’t Joan Rivers, back up, Giuliana," said Goldberg, who, of course, has dreadlocks herself.
