Taya will never fully be at peace without Chris, but with a jury finding Eddie Ray Routh guilty of murder after a lengthy trial, there is some level of clusre.

After an emotional day at court, where at one point she abruptly got up and left at one point, slamming the door behind her, Taya Kyle took to Facebook:

“Good Morning! What a poetic morning when the snow is melting and the winter is thawing out promising a new day. I have a short story to tell you but first…"

"God Bless the jury and good people of Stephenville, Texas!!”

Taya Kyle then began a story about one of Chris’ friends, Pete Scobell, on his Facebook page, on which she regularly shares updates with fans and friends.

Routh was found guilty of capital murder on Tuesday and received a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2013 death of Kyle.

The former Marine, described by his lawyers as a “troubled veteran” suffering from schizophrenia, shot Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield dead at a gun range.

The verdict came after Routh’s defense attorney Tim Moore posed the question of what was going on in Routh’s mind when he shot the two men.

That, assistant attorney general Jane Starnes argued, was impossible to pinpoint exactly, but was more than likely “deliberate," “calculating," and “cold."

“He didn’t want Chad dead. He wanted Chad dead, dead, dead, dead, dead, dead. And he wanted the same for Chris,” she added, noting the six times he shot each.

Chris Kyle’s memoir, American Sniper, is the basis for the award-winning, controversial box office blockbuster starring Bradley Cooper of the same title.

We wish Taya and the families of both victims the best.
