Sarah Palin made a surprise appearance at the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special, which was confusingly held on Sunday.
When Palin wasn’t handling hecklers like a boss, she was doing what she does best…
No, we’re not talking about whoring herself out for media attention (though she did plenty of that, too). We’re talking about being funnier and more misleading than a combined 40 years’ worth of Weekend Updates!
Asked about Tina Fey’s famous Palin impression, the former Alaska governor and potential Ms. Special Needs MILF pageant competitor revealed that she thinks fey owes her a debt of gratitude. And maybe some free orthodontia:
"Well, I have helped her career or has she helped me?" Palin told a red carpet reporter. "I’m like, come on Tina, you should be paying my kids’ braces or something."
"I really respect her work ethic and capitalization, you know, on the opportunity."
Damn. With that kind of subtle shade-throwing ability, maybe Sarah Palin would have fit in in Washington, after all.
Clearly, Sarah had a hard time transitioning from the Northern Lights of Wasilla to the footlights of Studio 8H.
Taylor Swift sat next to Palin at the SNL bash, and she was clearly not thrilled about it. To make matters worse, the show featured a montage of political sketches with plenty of clips featuring Fey’s less-than-flattering impression Palin.
Hopefully, someone gave Sarah something shiny to play with to distract her during that part of the evening.
