Disney is bringing back its classic animated series Duck Tales (woo-ooh!) with all new episodes, the company announced in amazing news this week.

Life is still like a hurricane over in Duckburg, or at least it will be 2017, when the rebooted Duck Tales debuts on Disney XD channels around the world.

The original was produced from 1987-90, and followed the adventures of tycoon Scrooge McDuck, a mallard so rich he could swim in his own money.

And he did, literally in many cases.

Scrooge’s mischievous grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and their beloved Uncle Donald Duck, were also featured prominently in the TV series.

A full-length feature film, Duck Tales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp, was released in 1990, but the show ceased production shortly after that.

“‘DuckTales’ has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history,” says Marc Buhaj, Senior V.P. of Programming and General Manager of Disney XD.

“Through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, [the series] set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults."

The rebooted Duck Tales, the company says, hopes to channel those qualities and "bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”

In addition to main characters Scrooge, Huey, Dewey, Louie and Donald, there will be several other familiar faces from the original returning as well:

  • Duckworth
  • Mrs. Beakley
  • Gyro Gearloose
  • Launchpad McQuack
  • Flintheart Glomgold
  • Magica DeSpell & Poe
  • Webbigail “Webby” Vanderquack
  • Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle)

Don’t act like you don’t remember those characters.
