Late last night, Drake dropped a new album in a late night, Beyonce-style surprise for sleeping fans.
As expected, the lyrics contain many lines that may or may not be references to Drake’s romances and rivalries, but one rhyme has stood out in particular as a very clear diss directed at a very well-known rival:
“I saw a little, little homie talking reckless in Vibe,” Drake raps. “Quite a platform you chose, you should’ve kept it inside. Oh, you tried, it’s so childish calling my name on the world stage. You need to act your age and not your girl’s age.”
Yes, that’s Drizzy calling out label-mate Tyga for his relationship with Kylie Jenner.
The “Vibe” line refers to an interview Tyga gave the magazine in which he remarked, “I just don’t like Drake as a person.”
Tyga and Drake have collaborated in the past, but whatever friendship they once had is now clearly kaput.
Part of the reason for the rift may be that Drake’s friend and mentor Lil Wayne is pissed about Tyga dating Kylie, which is pretty reasonable, considering the rapper is 25 years old, and Kylie is only 17.
Tyga has already responded to the diss on Twitter, with what some might interpret as a threat:
“Drake u still a b-tch,” Tyga tweeted. “All that sneak dissing is weak. I know where u live.”
Yeah, it sounds like this one is gonna get ugly. Stay tuned.
