There are quite a few differences between Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian.

But a pair of contrasting photos shared by the stars this week serve to highlight the most glaring one.

First, the former sex tape participant rewarded her 27 million Instagram followers with a NSFW thong photo. Its purpose? To tease and titillate.

Now, Lovato has posted her own revealing image, sharing online an impressive bikini selfie, though Lovato has a different purpose in mind: to inspire and embolden.

“Regardless of what society tells you these days… You don’t have to have a thigh gap to be beautiful,” Demi wrote as a caption to the snapshot, adding:

“It is possible to love your body the way it is. #fitness #health #acceptance #selflove.”

This sort of message is nothing new for Demi Lovato, of course.

Ever since leaving rehab in 2010 (for substance abuse issues and self-confidence problems), Lovato has aimed to help others suffering from similar disorders and addictions.

In an interview with Glam Belleza Latina magazine last year, Lovato said she used to “tried to conform to what everyone thinks is beautiful.”

However, she ultimately decided that she needed to embrace her curves.

“I no longer look at my body and think, ‘Oh my gosh, I have such a fat butt’ or ‘I hate my thighs,” she said at the time. “On some days I don’t love them. But, you know, that’s one of the things that makes me me.”

Amen, Demi! We hope you feel better after your recent lung infection.
