Rick Grimes and company were on a on The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 7.
But, as they ventured off to save Carol and Beth, the question became: was this a rescue mission or a suicide mission?
Gabriel whined about his churn being deconstructed for parts even before Rick, Daryl, Noah, Tyreese and Sasha set off for the hospital.
Later, Michonne was able to explain to the priest that doing terrible things is necessary and “worth it” at times.
Did she get through to him? Nope. We eventually see Gabriel pretending to nap in his office, but actually using a machete to pull up the floorboards and leave. After stepping on a nail, he hobbled away to the woods.
Gabriel managed to avoid (but refused to kill) a walker and we’re left assuming the worst about this man of the cloth.
Meanwhile, Glenn, Rosita, Eugene, Abraham, Tara and Maggie remained where we left them. Eugene was still unconscious. Abraham was still so angry that Maggie had to threaten him with a gun to get him to chill.
Not much went down these week with this group (Glenn and Rosita bonded, Maggie found a yo-yo), as we left them with Eugene starting to wake up.

They tried to lure some guards out and trade them for Beth and Carol… but the scheme didn’t go so well. Our heroes did capture a guard, but he pushed Sasha into a window pane and escaped.
Inside the hospital, Beth was trying to look out for Carol. Dawn gave the order to take Carol off life support, but she also gave Beth the keys to the drug locker. This way, she could give her friend a fighting chance.
Beth dosed Carol. Carol did not wake up. And this is where things were left heading into The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 8, previewed below and the show’s 2014 finale…
