While she tells Sam he must comply with the DOJ’s arrest warrant, Hetty puts the Ops center on stealth mode after the killing of Leyla Walden in L.A.

Sam, who was undercover at the time, is being charged with her death.

Deeks and Kensi investigate the murder scene, while Callen hides in the backseat of an FBI car to find out what, if anything, they have on Sam.

Callen, who is supposed to be on desk duty, gets some information.

Sam’s DNA is purportedly on the victim, and someone looking like Sam entered and left the premises around the time that the crime took place.

A deli employee named Ray Turner, who’s made it his mission to uncover fake Navy SEALs, raises red flags and the team wonders if Sam was targeted.

Deeks finds an arsenal of weapons at Ray’s place, and he and Kensi arrest him, at which point he denies knowing Leyla despite evidence to the contrary.

The FBI agents are having sex in a hotel when Callen arrives.

Granger takes a photo of them and threatens to out them if Sam isn’t released right now. After that promptly takes place, Sam confronts Ray Turner.

After they cut Turner loose and tail him, he video calls Sam while swimming off of a boat, which blows up in mid-call. The plot has thickened obviously.

Turner was investigating Jeremy North, a former SEAL with a defense training school and planned a private security career. Leyla was his bookkeeper.

North killed Leyla fearing she would out him as a fake SEAL.

Jeremy North looks like Sam, was in the Navy at the same time as Sam, and is now their man. It’s just a question of whether then can find him in time.

Sam, Callen and Turner go to his office to investigate and uncover an identity theft factory, which contains an ID that Sam had lost a few years ago.

One of the employees, Heidi, recognizes Deeks from the LAPD and agrees to help NCIS, as she is supposed to make a drop for their man imminently.

Soon enough, she has a laser trained on her and Sam has to save the day. He comes face to face with him and says he wants to fight, no weapons.

Needless to say, Sam Hanna prevails handily here.
